âDan Hanjie, Iâm fine, really, I just need some peace. Just donât ask me who peace is.â Qin Youxuan grinned, her cute little face full of vitality.
Sheâs not that melodramatic, just a little uneasy.
âIâve said it before, donât laugh if you donât want to in front of me.â Dan Hanjieâs large hand clutched her little face, gave it a strong tug, making Qin Youxuan tear up in pain.
ââ¦â
Qin Youxuan rubbed her face, glaring resentfully at him.
He could have just said he didnât want her to smile, no need to make her cry.
âCome here.â Dan Hanjie reached out his hand, his tall figure standing in the twilight. The sunsetâs orange light shone on him, radiating warmth.
Qin Youxuanâs lips quirked up, put her little hand into his palm, and allowed herself to be pulled up by him.
They strode towards the direction of the fountain.
Qin Youxuan, with her small steps, had to work hard to keep up with his long strides.
âI dropped all the coins!â Qin Youxuan, in a panic, the coins she had held in her hand slipped out and went everywhere, which left her in a fluster.
âItâs just a few bucks; anyone would think youâd dropped a diamond.â Dan Hanjie said coldly, stopping Qin Youxuan who was about to bend down to pick up the coins.
He glanced disapprovingly at the coins, which were now out of control and bouncing everywhere.
âBut itâs what you gave me, itâs different!â Panicked, Qin Youxuan shook off his hand, squatted down and swiftly picked up the scattered coins, one by one. Even the coins hidden in the grass were collected.
After putting them all into her small bag, she panted and ran back to Dan Hanjieâs side.
Dan Hanjie stood tall and silent, his back to the light, his perfect face lit but the expressions were unclear.
He watched Qin Youxuan running back towards him, his eyes deepened.
The only thing left in his ears were the words she said before running off: Itâs different because you gave it to me!
Because he gave it, so itâs different.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Did that mean, in her heart, he was different from everyone else?
How different?
âIâve picked them all up. This time Iâll put them in my bag, and they wonât fall out. Letâs go.â Qin Youxuan was oblivious to his changing expression. Holding his big hand tightly, she pulled Dan Hanjie and ran towards the fountain.
âYou said youâd make my wish come true, so Iâm going to make my wish now!â Qin Youxuan looked keen, her eyes sparkling.
She pressed her hands together, making her wish seriously.
After a few seconds, she took out a coin and threw it into the pool.
She turned back, saw the ripple disappeared, and laughed happily.
âWhat did you wish for?â
Dan Hanjie stepped forward, pulled her into his arms, preventing any tourists around the fountain from bumping into her.
Long fingers caressed her face, looking down at her captivating smile, his own lips curled up wickedly.
âI canât tell you now, Iâll tell you in three months. You promised, you have to help me realise it.â Qin Youxuan appeared mysterious, her clouded expression cleared instantly.
Looking up at the crystal clear droplets sprinkling in the pool, the pent-up anger due to Jin Lanâs release seemed to have all disappeared in the twilight.
ââ¦â
Dan Hanjie stared at her excited face and frowned.
Why exactly three monthsâ¦
âIâm hungry. Letâs go back, itâs time for dinner.â Qin Youxuan, afraid that Dan Hanjie would quiz her, hurriedly turned and ran off.
She ran to the car, stopped, and waited for him, panting.
Dan Hanjie walked at an easy and steady pace, confident, unhurried, and catching up to Qin Youxuan without any effort.
He caught the look of unease on her face and his eyes probed her.
