âA retrial?â
Qin Youxuan stepped forward, without bothering to ask anything else. She reached out and took the letter he handed over, opening it quickly.
After scanning it, she dropped the letter onto the table, looked up and said, âA week later, we have to wait that long?â
âThe awakening of a person in a vegetative state is a low probability event, the court has basically suspended the case. If Jin Lan suddenly wakes up, the case has to be restarted. The process is not only complicated, but due to the passage of time, a lot of the evidence will become hard to obtain, making the trial difficult. She may not necessarily be convicted. If it werenât for the high public interest in the case, the restart of the case wouldnât have been so quick.â
ââ¦â
Qin Youxuan paused, âYou mean, even if I accuse Jin Lan of wanting to murder me, the court may acquit her due to insufficient evidence?â
âYes.â
Dan Hanjie stood from the leather chair, pulling her cold body into his arms.
âDan Hanjie, help me.â
Qin Youxuan hesitated for a second, grabbed his lapel, and said forcefully, âI didnât wrongly accuse her, she really wanted to kill me! If it wasnât successful this time, thereâs no guarantee there wonât be a next time. I donât want her to go unpunished.â
âAre you sure Jin Lan wanted to kill you?â Dan Hanjie stared at her angry face, his fingers traced over her brows and eyes, then greedily lingered on her clear cat-like eyes.
He loved her eyes which were so pure, without any disguise.
He could see her thoughts at a glance.
âWhat do you mean? She was holding a knife to kill me. Unless I was hallucinating, I couldnât be wrong.â
âWhat you see is not always the truth, but if you want Jin Lan to go to jail, I will help you.â As Dan Hanjie finished speaking, he pressed the intercom, calling Yao in.
Only after watching his movements did Qin Youxuan sigh a sigh of relief.
She may not harbor resentment towards Jin Chenye, but she would never forgive Jin Lan.
Although she didnât understand what Dan Hanjie was hinting at, she believed in what she saw and heard.
âMr. Jie.â Yao quickly entered the CEOâs office, standing respectfully in front of the desk.
Dan Hanjie didnât look at him, but instead at Qin Youxuan, and said softly, âMy man is here, you say how you want to do this, tell Yao, and he will have it handled.â
âI donât need to fabricate evidence. I just want to present the truth of the case. I will accept whatever the courtâs judgement is.â Qin Youxuan cut to the chase.
âWhat does Miss Qin mean?â Yao asked respectfully.
âI only need you to do one thing for me. Keep an eye on Jin Chenye and donât let him secretly use other means to help Jin Lan escape punishment!â
âI understand.â Yao paused, and then nodded.
He glanced at Dan Hanjie on his way out. Seeing that he had no other orders, he finally turned and left.
âNow that weâre done discussing others, letâs talk about us.â Dan Hanjie gave Qin Youxuan an inscrutable look and sat back down in his chair.
His tall body reclined against the leather chair, his features perfect, his eyes deep, and his handsome face a masterpiece.
His long legs were crossed in front of him, and he extended a hand to Qin Youxuan, signaling her to sit on his lap.
âUs?â
Qin Youxuan looked blankly at him, not understanding what they would need to talk about.
âI remember you still owe me a favor.â
Dan Hanjie raised an eyebrow at her, seeing her not moving to sit on his lap, his brow furrowed.
âWhat favor?â
Qin Youxuan didnât react at once, she glanced at his darkening eyes, hastily went up to him and sat on his lap.
