âWhat is this?â
Benjamin had this confusing question in his mind when Godric suddenly mumbled, âArenât they like pets? Like⦠you know how people in the Empire raise different animals and monsters as hobbies. Theyâre called pets.â
âPets!â
Benjamin glared. The children were indeed being well taken care of. It was like they were being cared for as pets.
âThey are all kids. Look at them! But old enough that they donât need a mother.â
Benjamin was shocked.
âI⦠Iâve got to let people know!â
Suddenly a light flashed, and Godric looked down at his chest where there was now a big hole.
âHAH! Idiots!â
Through the hole, Benjamin saw an enemy soldier that looked like a reptile coming up to them.
âDammit!â
Benjamin saw the reptile soldier smiling as it came over. Benjamin closed his eyes. When nothing happened and he opened them up, he saw the reptile soldier vomiting blood.
ââ¦â
Benjamin was too shocked. He couldnât even scream when Godric suddenly came up to him and slapped him. That immediately snapped him out of his daze.
âUgh!â
âGosh, this bastard blew my cover. Stupid reptile. Oh well, maybe Iâll take this as a chance to move over to their world. Iâll be the first.â
Godric, still with a giant hole in his chest, was mumbling something as he held onto the reptile head that he decapitated. Benjamin grew sick and began vomiting.
âOooh, youâre not used to this I see.â
âWh⦠what are youâ¦â
Godric began searching the enemy soldier, then stripped him. Benjamin finally thought of a more important question.
âHâ¦how is he alive? How can he still be talking?â
And then, as Benjamin became sicker, Godric began to change shape. His skin began growing scales and he changed into the reptile soldier.
âY⦠you areâ¦!â
âIâm Green Dragon, Godric Gordon.â
âAh!â
Benjamin sighed in relief. Everything was explained when he learned the true identity of Godric.
âIâll sneak into their camp with this look, then disguise as one of the kids. Donât you think it will be fun? Oh, go let the army know what Iâm up to.â
âY-yes, sir.â
âGo on, take care!â
âCommander Halis. The dragons have joined the war.â
An old man came in and informed Halis, who replied with a smile.
âSir Todd. Come in, please.â
Todd sat down and took a sip of tea.
âSo, the dragons are now in the war too?â
Todd Veneth was a former lieutenant of Chancellor Jackson, who was now one of the senior advisors of the Empire. Todd continued.
âYeah. Itâs from the report of a war reporter from the front lines.â
âAre you sure you can trust the reporter?â
Halis asked.
âOf course. They wonât lie about something like that.â
âI guess so.â
âThereâs a more important matter.â
âAnd that is?â
âThe one that brought the reporter along was a dragon named Godric, who was disguised as a soldier. There, the reporter saw something shocking.â
Todd stopped and drank more tea. Halis calmly waited for Todd to continue.
âThey found many kids under the age of 10 in captivity.â
âAre they kept as prisoners?â
âNo. It appears that they are taking our kids as pets.â
âThatâs why kids have been going missingâ¦â
âThe dragon Godric then changed shape to sneak into their camp and went over into their dimension.â
âHmph.â
Todd nodded then continued.
âI heard weâll have our scout team sent over as well.â
âThat sounds very dangerous.â
âOf course. But we will always have to face danger.â
Halis did not look too happy, but Todd shook his head and continued.
âEnough with the news. Iâm actually here to find his Majesty, your father, and Sir Graham. This war will not end with just us.â
