âHey! Move out of the way!â
âTo the right!â
The carts moved through quickly as well as the heavy machines.
âWhoa, look at that.â
As they exited the cave, the Khalodian Army was building up a fortress right in front of the cave entrance where the goblin fortress used to be.
âThat was quick.â
âYes, of course. We are always quick! Hahaha!â
A Magnos laughed heartily as he walked over to Jinpok. It was Colonel Grat.
âIt looks crude, but itâs about 90% finished. We just need to finish up the interior and outer wall, and it will be done.â
âGood! Hey Grat, why donât weâ¦â
Jinpok made a drinking gesture and Grat laughed harder.
âOf course, Commander! Oh, and I found that thing you mentioned.â
âThat?â
Joonbum became curious, but Jinpok exclaimed in shock, âChamisul?!â
âYeah. A full box.â
âDamn, thatâs awesome!â
Jinpok had been looking for soju ever since they came back to Earth. It wasnât a good quality liquor, but Jinpok felt nostalgic about it and he always wanted to find some.
âHey, why donât you join in?â
Joonbum nodded, followed by Doral.
âIâll join in too. I drank that a long time ago. I miss it.â
Thatâs when a familiar face came up to them.
âYour Majesty, welcome back.â
âYes.â
It was Duval. He saluted Jinpok and Doral before continuing, âThe goblin emissaries have arrived inside the fortress.â
âGoblin emissaries? Thatâs absurd. Iâm out.â
Jinpok shook his head and walked away with Grat. Joonbum too shared a similar feeling with Jinpok since he didnât like the idea of talking with goblins. After all, they were monsters who ate humans. However, Khalodianâs war tacticians thought differently. Khalodian had achieved great victory on the Korean peninsula, but they were far from finished. And with the gate closed and with no way to return, the continued loss of resources and men were not a good thing. Thatâs when people came up with the idea of making peace with goblins.
After investigations, goblins mostly ruled these vast lands. There were only a handful of human survivors.
âDuval, what do they want?â Joonbum asked.
âThey want weapons, armor, and supplies.â
âI see.â
Joonbum scratched his chin.
âIt is as expected, Your Majesty. There are more powerful monsters out there. It is natural that the goblins want more weapons to protect themselves against other monsters.â
âWhat kind of weapons do they want?â
âThey mostly want swords, spears, bows, guns, and other firearms that we have. They also want various armor and shields, but their list is increasing. They donât know when to stop.â
Duval didnât seem to like it either.
âSo, how are we going to respond to them?â
âIt is up to you, Your Majesty.â
It was an important moment.
âLetâs provide them with swords, spears, bows, and other primitive types of cold weapons. And leather armor. That will be it. Oh, and add basic first aid kits and supplies. Are there other things that we have in mind?â
Duval bowed, âOur people are providing them with liquor and cigarettes at the moment.â
âHmm.â Joonbum then asked again, âLet me see. Are we sending them drugs after that?â
Duval looked at Joonbum in silence and nodded.
âYour Majesty, goblins pose great danger. Our investigative team reports that their danger level is at the SSSSS rank.â
âAre they really that dangerous?â
âYes, Your Majesty.â
Even Kong and the dragons were only ranked SSS.
âGoblins are not powerful, but the problem is their intelligence. They are evolving at a terrifying speed. It has been only twenty years since they appeared, but they already have created a vast network and are using human language to communicate. This poses a serious threat. Soon, goblins will rule this world.â
Joonbum thought for a second and nodded.
âI approve.â
âThank you.â
âI will hand over authority of negotiating with the goblins to you.â
Duval then backed away.
