âGo guide them.â
âYes, sir!â
Ron jumped out as Vetra spoke again.
-Please follow my soldier who just walked out. Weâll have to move quickly. The place will be overrun with monsters gain, so we have no time to waste.
Ron came out from the bunker and raised his both hands up into the sky as the people pointed their guns at him.
âOh, hello! Iâm Ron!â
âWh- an elf?â
âWhoa!â
Some of the people shouted a familiar word. Ron knew what the word âelfâ meant.
âWell, we do have similarities,â Ron thought as Lee Chulmin approached.
âWhere are you taking us?â Chulmin asked.
Ron answered quickly.
âYou will be escorted to a defense point that we prepared on this Khalodian Mountain Range. Itâs a cave and itâs big enough to hide every one of you. Itâs also defended by steel doors. It also has food and other necessities that can keep you alive for at least three months. Itâs a good place for you to rest and figure out what to do after. Weâll move now. Oh, and please be on the alert. There are monsters are everywhere.â
âWeâll take care of them.â
Soldiers with guns spoke up from behind Lee Chulmin.
âHmm. Do I look weak to them?â
Ron was also a warrior of the Ainos. But it seemed that these people were disappointed by the sight of his bow and arrows.
âWeâll move for now. Iâll explain more when we get there.â
Ron began to move and the people followed. The soldiers looked tense as they walked and Ron smiled.
âTheyâll know when they see it.â
Then, not after a minute of walking, Ronâs hands moved quickly. He fired an arrow into the trees in the distance.
âWhat?!â
âW-what are you doing?!â
The soldiers shouted as they were caught by surprise, but Ron just smiled.
âWhat is the meaning of this? Why-â¦â
Chulmin frowned but then became shocked. A small monster dropped from a tree.
âMonsters!â
âOn your guard!â
Ron spoke to them. âThere arenât anymore nearby. I think that one was alone because of its wounds. These monsters kill each other soâ¦â
Everyone nodded but they were still skeptical.
âBut what if thereâs another one hidingâ¦â
âNo, there isnât. This is our land, and I am a protector of the land. We Ainos are invincible until we use up all our arrows.â
Ron finished speaking and then moved out. People began to follow him. Soldiers and civilians alike were surprised and astonished by Ronâs fighting skills and his keen senses. After they fought many monsters as they walked, none of the soldiers looked down on the ancient bow and arrows anymore.
âThis is amazingâ¦â
âHow does he know where the monsters are?â
The soldiers spoke in astonishment.
âItâs here!â
They arrived at a giant metal door which blocked the entrance to the cave. Ron approached and worked on some mechanics on the door before he finally opened it. As it was fully opened, they were embraced by a large open space within.
âA l-light! Isnât that a bulb?â
âThatâs a power generator!â
Ron walked in first and started a generator to power the light bulbs.
âB-but how?â
People seemed to be shocked and looked at Ron.
âHeh, theyâre surprised now!â
Ron smiled.
Everyone then moved into the cave with their tanks and trucks. The first cavern was about a hundred feet high and a hundred and fifty feet wide. But there were similar-sized caverns connected to it toward the back.
âWow, we can stay here for more than just a few months.â
The people had questions and thus turned to Ron.
âYou all seem to be curious, but we have enough time and you all are tired and injured. Iâll just introduce and explain the place for now.â
ââ¦Hm. Okay,â Major Chulmin answered.
Ron began to explain.
âFirst, you should station soldiers in the first cavern. Itâs the largest place so tanks and armored vehicles can be stored there to be used at any time. There are resting areas at the walls where soldiers can take a break. There are water fountains and restrooms installed there too. And if you go in further, thereâs a second cavern where we have facilities to house civilians in there. We can house at least three hundred people in the second cavern.â
âWe have seven hundred and seven people. A three-hundred person limit isâ¦â
Chulmin spoke as Ron turned to the people disembarking from the trucks and buses. However, Ron didnât seem to be concerned.
