My heartbeat rang against my chest my breath coming in slowly as I took deep breaths to calm myself down sweat beads falling down my cheek

I couldn't scream my voice died down my throat

Help.He's here staring right through my soul like a wolf hungry for his prey

"How..did you get in here?" I asked stepping backwards looking for something solid i could attack with

"I have my ways, mihi" saransh spoke a slight smirk forming on his lips

"Hold my hand and i'll protect you until I am alive" he whispered as he took slow steps towards me

no.never!

As soon as I reached our home I was trying to calm myself down the incident at the party playing in my mind like a movie the thing I didn't know was someone hiding in the shadows of our garden

"Mihi, dangers are lurking behind the shadows of your sanctuary this is your last chance to come with me, Love " he said reaching out to hold my hand but I pushed him away to which he chuckled

"His family doesn't treat you right!" He yelled at me but his eyes turned soft the next moment

"BUT HE DOES!! Are you listening to me ,he does!"

"And he's my husband he will take care of what is happening around me or with me, not some random man who acts like an obsessive psycho! Who is hurt after seeing his ex-girlfriend happy" I yelled back the muscles of my neck tensed with the intense pressure over my throat

"Why don't you fucking understand he'll take you and he'll not.." he shouted but stopped midway pulling his hair tightly

"Mihi listen to me we are getting out of here" he said holding my hand taking two steps forward before I jerked his hand off me

"Listen there's no we first of all and I am not going anywhere with you!" I said making distance between us as i roamed my eyes around the room to find my phone

"And my husband will take care of everything, get that in your head" i said taking fast steps towards the night stand as I took my phone and dialed his number thankfully!

"I am taking you and that's final" he said dialing a number over his phone

"Near the door now!" He instructed someone over the phone as he stepped towards me grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the room

"Leave or else I'll kill you" I shouted trying to free my hand from his hold

"Hello? Biwi? Where are you?" I heard ved's voice from the phone

"Ved..he is here in our home-" I spoke hurriedly before he snatched my phone and crushed it under his feet

"Enough my beautiful now have a good sleep!" He said as he hit me with something hard on my head

"Saransh no-" these are the words i remember before I passed out

AUTHOR'S POV

"I would have forgiven you if it was a mistake but now that I know.." vedant said his voice low and menacing

"What mistake? What are you talking about" the boy said sweat beads forming on his forehead as he was sat on the chair his hands tied to it

"that you spiked my wife's drink what do you think I would do to you?" Vedant said slamming his hand on the armrest of the chair glaring into his eyes his eyes dark with pure rage

"I am sorry- that was..an order" the boy said flinching a little

"Who was behind it?" Vedant asked exhaling a deep breath to calm himself down

"I don't know-" the boy was cut off when Vedant's phone rang

"I have to take this...take care of him and i need every bit of the information he's having" vedant said looking at abheer and krishiv as they sat on the couch relaxing for a while

"Huh? Yes yes!" Abheer said nodding his head positively

"Hello biwi?" Vedant asked his voice soft but little frown formed on his head when he heard background noises of her shifting from one place to another

"Where are you?" He asked his voice tensed as he rushed towards his car jiggling with the key before he started driving as fast as he could

"He-is here in our home-" these were the last words he could hear before the line went dead

VEDANT

No.no.no nothing will happen to her I chanted while I marched towards the door of our home as it opened with a thud

I stepped inside only to hear silence in which my heartbeat could easily be heard my breath struck in my throat

Where is my wife? The only thing that repeated in my brain was her voice her being restless

Please god no she's way too precious to be in the hands of someone who doesn't value how delicate she is

I have to find her.i repeated the words simultaneously as I looked around the whole house and I saw things shattered around.my mihi tried to fight!

"She's missing I want you here right now!" I roared over the phone as I called aditya her bodyguard who was looking after her in disguise

"I have been looking for mam for a while sir" aditya said his head hung low

"That's how you do your fucking job?" I yelled Anger bubbling inside me

"Sir i- mam could have seen me if I was close-" aditya stuttered nervously

"To hell if you would have been seen by her! at least my wife would have been safe" i said pressing my forehead with my thumb

"We need to rush trace the anklets right now" i said instructing anant over the phone while abheer and krishiv informed me that the man who spiked her drink was sent by that saransh guy

I drove out the car at it's maximum speed my breath coming in slow sweat beads falling off my forehead

I can't literally breathe without her! I need her to be safe

"To your left just 2 km away sir" anant answered quickly

I shifted the gears and the car moved in a hush before I could spot a car it's her I know she's there i over took the car and  blocked his way while tilting it left before putting my car at a halt which forced him to stop right away

I could see it in his eyes he was here to take her away because he started his car again ready to drive off my car  and then I spotted her..she was unconscious her head uncomfortably laid on the seat.

I came out of the car and moved towards his when he drove his car backwards fucking bast*rd

I swear I don't like to use cuss words but this man gets on my nerves like no one else

"Krishiv now!" I instructed over the airpods attached to my phone to which his car arrived stopping saransh from shifting back

I could sense the frustration bubbling inside him I clenched my jaw when I saw a scratch on her hand from far away

I marched towards his car opening the door crushing it down when I grabbed his collar tightly in my fist

"You wanted to take her away from me huh?" I asked my voice hoarse and deep filled with rage

"I want to protect her from what's coming her way " he answered breathlessly but he looked right into his eyes

"Suit yourself, run if you want before I shoot these bullets right into your skull" i said placing the trigger right between his eyes

"You see I am a very calm man saransh mehra but when it comes to my woman i lose my ability to think sanely" i said loading the gun i could see him gulping as fear engulfed his features

"You crossed your limits this time so now I'll cross mine" i punched his face hard one after another hitting his delicate body meant no fun but it gave me a sense of relief that he's going through pain just like my mihika does everyday like she lives in fear daily overthinking about the what ifs around her and i know it's all because of this man

"Your family doesn't treat her right" saransh mumbled dodging my punch

"She gets humiliated by that old lady just because she isn't the type of daughter-in-law that woman wants?" Saransh uttered wiping blood off his lips

"You're not different than me" saransh said smirking wickedly

"Ved.."I heard her distant whisper she's awake i quickly ran towards her taking her face in my palms caressing her hair

"Yes love?" I whispered kissing her forehead telling myself to calm down

"You..i thought..i would never see you again" she muttered her voice hanging low

"Shh..jaan abhi toh theek se mili bhi nahi hain jaane ki baat krti hain?" I asked softly making her sit on the seat comfortably as I made her drink water

She looked at me and smiled softly her hand raising up to caress my cheek

"Aap ladai bhi karlete hain? Maine aaj pehli baar dekha itne gusse main aapko"she said softly in a hushed voice

"Did it impress you?" I asked looking at her softly raising an eyebrow

"No.. ved why would I want you to fight with anyone but you were looking so concerned that you forgot that you are such a gentleman"she said chuckling softly

"I can crush this gentleman image thing if anybody tries to hurt my wife if it's about you then I don't care about anything else!" I answered taking her in a hug caressing her back softly

"Were you scared?" I asked caressing her head tapping it to sooth her

"Not for myself but for us" she replied holding on to me tightly

"Ved bhaiyaa yeh jaa rha hai" krishiv said casually dragging saransh from his collar

Oh god these people I sighed closing my eyes

"Take him away from here" i said to abheer frustration evident in my voice

"This time he shouldn't escape!" I warned abheer providing him with all the details I knew

"I don't even want to"saransh murmered rolling his eyes

"Ajeeb pagal aadmi hai" abheer said hitting his head to which saransh shot daggers at him

"Let's go abheer bhai" krishiv said taking him inside his car as they left with a hush

I was terrified at the thought of losing her i mean she's the reason I am willing to live for every freakin day

"Let's go home wifey?" I asked cupping her cheeks delicately

"I am already home" she says clinging on to me tightly

I sighed a breath of relief as i calmed myself down

"You are coming to Italy with me this week" i said kissing her forehead

"But you were going alone?" She asked looking at me

"Now I am not..you and your safety matters to me the most biwi " i said smiling at her softly before I made her sit on the passenger seat of my car and fixed her seatbelt

"Ved what if saransh would have been successful in whatever he wanted to do" she talked in a low voice merely a whisper

"I wouldn't let him not today not ever!" I said holding her palm placing it on my thigh caressing it while I drove from the other as she dozed off from exhaustion

When I saw her in his car unconscious that's the moment I realised that now i would kill and be killed for her

The moment she confessed in her drunken state I knew that i would do anything for this lady right here

I wouldn't let anyone take her away from me this time!

AUTHOR'S POV

He carefully took her in his arms after parking his car taking her inside carefully and cautiously but she opened her eyes as soon as her back touched the mattress

"Sleep meri jaan ruhi and Ishani are coming here to be with you hmm?" He said kissing her forehead

"Please stay for a while" she murmered in her sleepy state

"Always." He replied settling beside her caressing her hairs softly providing her the comfort she craved for as she held his hand tightly while closing her eyes

Mihika now knows that the only hand she will hold on to when she fears life will be his and only his!

Soon she slept comfortably he got up after covering her with the quilt as ruhi and Ishani arrived

"She's sleeping I need to go..no one should come inside until and unless it's ritvik me or Krishiv" vedant instructed them as he left after making sure everything is in control

"Bhai I need to tell you something" Ishani said in a low voice contemplating whether to say what she thought or not

Vedant raised an eyebrow gesturing her to continue

"I-umm bade papa, I heard papa and him talk when I was coming here" Ishani muttered fidgeting with her fingers

"He's here in India" ruhi said trying to take her hairs out from ruhan's hold

"Where?" Vedant asked his features darkened

"Jaipur" Ishani said sliding inside the kitchen to fetch a bottle of water

"Thanks for the information little one, take care of my wife" vedant said storming out of the house his steps big yet Calculated as he dialed a number on his phone sitting inside his car

"Who's there?" A voice dominant yet humble came from the other side

"Prem" vedant muttered leaning back on the seat

"Mr.Malhotra kya haal hain aapke" the man asked his voice playful the moment he recognised it was his long time friend speaking

"Cut the formality I need your help" vedant spoke his fingers pressing his forehead to calm his headache

"I am going to be the king of jaipur yeh koi tareeka hai help mangne ka?" Prem said his voice dramatic

"He has came out of his comfort zone he's in Jaipur now you know what you have to do" vedant said choosing not to reply to the latter ones

"It will be done in two days" prem replied his demeanor serious and focused

"Is it fine if I kill him here only?" Prem asked shuffling sounds coming from his side

" I want him alive." Vedant declared as he put his car to an halt after he reached at his desired location

A smirk curling up his lips,his eyes filled with darkness a content expression on his face he knew it's finally time to fullfill his promise he made to his dead mother when he was five...
