"When will you come back biwi it's been a week" he said over the phone flipping the pages of the file as he paced around his office
"take a seat first malhotra ji and have some water" she replied as she baked her father's favourite brownies
"no you have been staying there for over a week you said you will be back in few days" he complained as he took a seat
"i am thinking to stay here for 3-4 days more pri and papa doesn't want me to leave so soon" she said as she mixed the batter
"So soon? it's been more than a week" he winced like a child
she laughed at his antics
"what's funny about this?" he asked innocently yet in a frustrated tone
"You know i wish you were here so i could see your face" she said chuckling
"Okay then i am coming over" he said closing his file
"Malhotra ji you can come pick me up tomorrow morning" she said finally to calm his hyper self
He smirked as a thought striked his mind
"wait for me biwi" he said and hung up the phone leaving her puzzled
she shook her head and kept the brownies in the oven
"so you are going tomorrow" maa asked as she stirred the paneer makhni in the pan
she nodded
"he was sounding mad you should have heard him" she said laughing
"princess are you happy? like really?" papa asked as he was helping mumma as he chopped some vegetables for the salad
"Yes papa everyone there loves me like they used to" she said smiling as her father kissed her head lovingly
"Didn't you listened how desperate her husband was sounding" prisha said as she took out the Brownies from the oven to cool down
her cheeks went red as they all chuckled that was true he sounded like he will leave everything and come over if she said that she wants him here

it was our love language to cook with, for each other ankita chachi doesn't like to cook so we don't force her into anything and aakash chachu was out of town for his work
i got this similar vibe at his home also maa and choti maa used to cook with me whenever i wanted to cook and even krishiv sometimes used to cook maggi for us whenever my mood got sullen
ruhi called me everyday since i was here she hadn't anyone to gossip with ishani went to jaipur after our reception as her exams were near but she used to call me and ranted about her day
ritvik used to text me how my husband is testing everyone's patience as he was too grumpy towards them since i left and i couldn't help but laugh
they didn't make me feel that i was away from them that's how we all were connected and i always imagined having a family like i have now and i couldn't get any happier
i was relaxed as dadi's taunt were on hold for now I don't know why she have a hard corner for me
And about Him... god really was on my side when he sent him in my life as my husband in these days when we weren't close to eachother he made me feel his presence emotionally i never felt like my presence didn't effected him he always made me feel valued seen and i couldn't get tired of his 'i wish you were here' texts in these days we have gotten closer emotionally

it was almost night as we placed the dishes on the dinning table and dad sneakily ate a brownie he couldn't wait more and i chuckled
i went inside the kitchen to grab a glass of water when i heard a car's engine go off i some what knew who's car was it and the next moment i heard
"Vedant" papa said as his footsteps approached the hall way and my heart beat picked up it's pace
he was supposed to be here tomorrow? i remember telling him that i took a deep breath i probably looked like a mess in my pajamas and this loose t-shirt my hairs up in a messy bun i got so engrossed in making brownies that i didn't even knew my clothes were also a mess i cursed my fate under my breath
a gushy happy feeling crept in i am going to see him after more than a week
i entered the dining area after dusting my clothes and tied my hair nicely i looked homely now atleast
he was seated beside papa talking about I don't know what my mind was too busy admiring the man in front of me he looked drop-dead handsome even after working for hours his sleeves rolled up as his blazer hanged on the corner of the chair his hairs a little messy yet looked perfect
as i placed the water jug on the table all eyes fell on me and i suddenly felt shy
"mihi your husband is here i didn't knew he was coming tonight only" maa said looking at me with a teasing glint
'trust me i didn't even knew either' i muttered under my breath
i finally looked up at him..his eyes were hooked on me and i felt nervous under his gaze he also brought something for them maybe it was their favourite dessert
"come let's have dinner" papa said patting his back as we all settled to have food
he sat beside me and i couldn't shake away the shyness i was feeling suddenly after being this close to him after these days
"missed me biwi?" he asked his intense gaze on me
i looked at him and smiled
"i am sure you did" i said with a playful glint in my eyes
"oh yes i definitely did, that i couldn't resist coming over" he said casually whispering without realising what effect his words were having on me
my cheeks flushed and i looked around to confirm that no one was paying attention to us and he smirked a little
i served the aromaticly delicious paneer makhni in his plate along with the butter naan i was going to serve in mine when he said
"eat from mine only" he said as he forwarded the first bite in front of my mouth i was too stunned this man I don't know what he thinks but his little gestures make my heart flutter
i took the bite and the flavours burst in my mouth After all it was mumma who made this he forwarded another bite
"i can have it on my own" i said looking at him a small smile lingering on my lips
"i know biwi, now eat" he said as he stuffed my mouth with another bite and continued to do so along with feeding himself in between
from my peripheral view i could see mumma papa and pri smiling as everyone finished eating in silence with a little chat here and there he appreciated mumma's cooking and she was more than happy to hear it
"you are staying for the night na?" pri asked as if confirming
he simply nodded as he finished another brownie i didn't knew he liked brownies i mean maa said he doesn't like sweets that much
but a wave of happiness flushed over me he was staying here with us with me for the night and now i could sleep next to him soundly i thought and smiled
