"I am falling in love with you, slowly and steadily like the clouds moving around... slowly and steadily."
I listened to him carefully before walking towards him and hitting his arms lightly while laughing.
"Don't joke around like this," I said.
He gave me a deadpanned look before taking a step back and tilting his head to one side he said, "Why would I joke around about something like this, Serene?"
I don't know. Because it seems so unreal? Not even a long back, he asked me some time to sort his feelings out and suddenly he is dropping the 'in love' bomb on me out of nowhere. If not a joke, what could it be?
"You are serious," I stated as I looked at his expression.
He shrugged his shoulders as a matter of fact.
Holy mother of Jesus. He was actually serious. He likes me? He is falling in love with me?!
"I know I asked you for ten days but what's the point? I realised that it's okay to fall in love with someone if that's what my heart desires. I cannot stop it from wanting what it wants, right?" He asked with a smile, "Just like I couldn't stop it from falling for Liya, I can't stop it from falling for you." He moved his hands around a lot, "Don't worry. I won't fall in love with anyone else. You are the only one now."
A laugh escaped my mouth. Alec looked at me surprised. He opened his mouth again to say something when I closed the distance between us and kissed him softly, taking him by surprise.
He didn't move for a few seconds before he kissed me back. He went slowly but took control as he moved faster. I smiled lightly before putting my hands behind his head.
"That's what I was talking about man!" I pushed Alec away lightly before looking at Nathaniel standing not far away from us while chewing onto a piece of gum.
Alec cursed under his breath as Nathaniel raised his arms in surrender, "I was just going to my class now, it's not my fault that you guys are making out in the middle of the hallway!" He said slyly, "Imagine getting caught by the teachers instead of me. Oooh, that would be aight to watch."
"Get out Nathaniel." Alec hushed him away while he went away with a laugh that echoed around.
Once he was gone Alec looked down at me. We both looked at each other before breaking in a series of laughter together. Alec put his forehead against mine lightly as he continued laughing.
"I'm gonna see you after class." He muttered with a smile still playing around his lips. I bit my lip lightly before nodding my head. I still couldn't wrap my head around what happened, the only feeling I could feel were the butterflies going wild in my stomach.
He kissed me lightly again before heading to his class. As soon as he was gone, I stood in the place before touching my lips lightly where I could still feel his tingling sensation on my lips. I felt a shudder of excitement pass through my body before I walked to my class when I realised I was walking in the wrong direction.
I blame Alec for my wrong sense of direction right now.
I cleared my throat before going the right way.
Are we dating now? Is he my boyfriend?
I closed my eyes before shrieking a little form inside.
Boyfriend. It sounds so... unusual.

As soon as the class ended I exited the class with the books in my hands only to find Alec already standing outside leaning against the wall.
His blonde hair was all around the place as he had a longing look on his face. As soon as his eyes met mine, he pushed himself away from the wall before coming to me. I felt my heart skipping a beat as he stood in front of me. He didn't say anything as just looked at me before taking the books from my hands and helping me with them.
"You are here," I said without knowing there was a smile on my face.
He didn't say anything as he simply smiled before looking ahead. He started walking ahead and before I could even walk with him, I felt his hands intervene with mine. I was surprised by his actions. I felt his warmness pass through my hands to the body as I looked at the back of his head.
Does really want to hold hands in front of everyone?
I didn't budge from my place. He turned his head to look back at meâ showing me only one side of his face.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"We are holding hands."
He gave me a weird look, "Of course we are. Come on." He didn't even try to listen to me or explain before pulling me with him.
I felt happy. I actually felt all the love I wanted from him.
I giggled to myself, but it felt so weird because I have never seen him acting romantic towards anyone. And him trying to be like this was... adorable.
"Why are you giggling?" He asked with an amused voice.
I looked up at him surprised that he even noticed.
"Nothing."
"Are you sure?" He asked while I nodded my head. He tickled me a little on my side with our intervened hand, "Yeah?"
"Stop." I cried before laughing.
He laughed along with me before stopping when I saw Max and Henry standing in front of us. They had their mouths open.
The only thing I wanted right now, dammit.
Max pointed at both of us slowly â his mouth still open, "Am I seeing right?" He pointed at our intervened hands.
"I'm not the only one seeing this, huh?" Henry muttered.
Max's eyes flashed as he looked at Alec and me before he almost threw himself at me, "WHAT IS THIS? ARE YOU GUYS DATING?"
I laughed awkwardly looking around, "Uh, Max? I am not sure if the whole school wants to know."
"YOU ARE!" He cried before looking behind at Henry, "OH MY GOD, THEY ARE DATING. I CANNOT BELIEVE SHE IS FINALLY DATING SOMEONE. SOMEONE I DON'T MIND. HENRYYYYY."
He swiftly took Henry by his hands and pulled him in a hug with excitement.
I swear I could see people giving us looks. I wanted nothing more than to hide my face but by now I was so used to people giving me looks that I just went along with it.
"You see her holding hands? Did you see that wholesome moment?" He continued talking excitedly (as if he was going to start crying out of happiness any time), ignoring the fact that I was here and could listen to everything he was saying.
"She won't die single. She finally decided to be not miserable for life."
"Uh, Max?" I stepped ahead and tried to interrupt Max's wild train of thoughts, "I am right here." I waved my hands in front of his face.
Max's attention turned to me as he held me in a tight hug. I choked for air as I looked at Henry for help. He stood there with a knowing smile on his face because the next thing I know he engulfed me in a hug too, making it more difficult to breathe.
"Al-legg." I breathed out through the bear hug, "helph me."
What kind of a boyfriend is he? He is standing there watching while his girlfriend is being choked.
Just watch how I crush your parts when I get free from this hug.
The both of them let go of me with huge grins on their faces. Even Henry had a grin on his face!
"We need to tell everyone!" He said.
I looked back at Alec unsure. What if he doesn't want it?
He raised his eyebrows at me before chuckling, "I didn't hold your hand to keep it a secret. I want everyone to know that we belong to each other now."
We both belong to each other now.
The sentence kept repeating in my head as I felt a blush crept up on my cheeks. HOW IS HE SUDDENLY THE MOST ADORING GUY!
"No. Don't be cringe." Henry grimaced.
"What are you talking about?" I looked at him with wide eyes, "That was so sweet!"
"For you!" He extended the last part a little longer, his eyes bulging out, "Do we have to put up with this now?"
I folded my arms and pointed my chin upwards, "Yes. You have a problem?"
He sighed, "It won't matter."
I grinned up at him, "Glad you know."
"What are we talking about?" Liya asked as she came and stood beside us with Evie. The surrounding smelt sweet as usual as Liya stood there.
For once, when I looked at Liya... I didn't feel inferior. I didn't feel like she was prettier or better than me (which I felt almost all the time before) but now I didn't.
I never hated her. I even started thinking of her as my friend... and now I could be comfortable around her, I guess.
I looked back at Alec to see if he felt uncomfortable. Uncomfortable in any way to see Liya here, or letting her know that we were dating now.
Alec was looking at Liya and Evie with a smile on his lips when his gaze moved to mine. His eyes softened before a chuckle escaped his mouth lighting up the corner of his eyes as he motioned me to go near him.
As soon as I was near him he held my face into his hands, "You don't have to worry. As I said, you are the only one now."
I felt my heart fill with warmth as I leaned in his touch.
"Geez..." I heard Henry's voice, "You see that! That's what I am talking about. They are dating now and expect us to get used to this."
Alec pulled away his hands a little embarrassed.
I heard Evie sighing as she rolled her eyes, "I am already bearing Liya and Xavier. I won't mind another of you." Her mouth turned upside down, "I wish I had someone too."
I wanted to point out that she actually has someone with her too but I decided to keep my mouth shut.
"You are not going to cry, are you?" Max asked Evie worried but at the same time with disappointment in his voice.
"No!" She yelled.
"You are! I can feel it."
"Shut up, I won't."
While they bickered, Liya walked towards Alec and me. She had a soft look for me before looking at Alec knowingly.
I looked at them simultaneously as they looked at each other knowingly.
What? What was that look? I want to know too!
"I told you." She said.
That was it. That's the only thing she said.
"You were right." Alec smiled, "Thank you."
Hello? What was she right about? What was this secret language and code only they knew? What were they talking about?
Liya looked at me suddenly, "I am glad it's you."
I had so many question marks in my head as I gave her a confused look but nodded my head nonetheless. As she went back I turned to look at Alec to ask him what did she mean?
He shrugged his shoulders playfully, refusing to answer my questions at all.
"We have a chemistry project remember?" He wriggled his brows at me.
I responded in affirmative as he smirked at me before telling me that he was coming over to my house today.
He has already been to my house, but it was something different this time. I don't know if it was the way he said it or my mind playing tricks with me.
But I felt jitters as I watched his smile when he said this.
