Jason stood up as the flames slowly died down. Heading back to the hospital he took one last glance back at the cabin before walking away with the fire inside of him still alive.

As he reached Lily's hospital room he found her parents asleep on the chairs outside the room. Lily's mother's head was laid on her husband's shoulder while he had his other hand intertwined with hers.

Jason felt a stab in his heart , he wanted that with Lily. He wanted to grow old with her and have kids of their own, but fate had other plans for them.

He looked away abruptly and entered the room. He didn't know what to expect, I mean it was stupid of him or maybe he was just desperate. He hoped when he opened the door he'd find Lily awake and smiling her dazzling smile at him.

But she was just laying there on that stupid hospital bed with so many wires hooked to her. Her lifeless body and her pale skin didn't suit her, she was always full of life and energetic, she reminded Jason of a sunny day after so many storms.

Jason dragged the chair next to her and sat down on it holding her hand between his. His voice got stuck in his throat and he couldn't utter a word, because he knew that the second he opened his mouth he would cry.

"Lily" Jason's voice came out husky from all the screaming and crying.

"Don't leave me, please I beg you. I will buy you that cat you always wanted even though I hate cats. I will do whatever you want, take you whatever you want, buy you whatever you ask for. Just come back to me , you always said you believe in miracles, be my miracle, Fiore."

Jason already does whatever Lily wants and take her wherever she wants and buys her whatever she asks for, but he was desperate to have her back.

"I did something stupid Lily, I burnt the cabin where we first met. I don't know why , I have no idea what got into me, but I burnt it and I regret it already. That cabin was an important place in our story, first meeting, first date, first mafia mission with you."

I still remember the day I met you like it was yesterday. I remember your smartass mouth, your quivering little body, the sadness hidden in your voice. You held me captive within seconds even though I couldn't see you well, but your personality and vibes had me feeling something I never felt before"

Jason looked out of the window into the distance and chuckled a bit.

"I remember calling you lotus, honestly I still find it funny how you hated it and looked like you're about to kill me everytime I called you lotus or daffodil."

"I miss your voice, I miss your blabbering mouth who wouldn't shut the fuck up no matter what nad would always get you in trouble. I broke two guys noses within first three days because of it for god's sake"

"And how can I forget our first kiss, it was the best thing that I had ever experienced, of course besides our other first" Jason smirked as he imagined Lily's red face as she smacked his arm.

"I have to admit that I miss you calling me that horrible nickname ... Jasey bear. Lily, we still have to show Hope her room and buy her more clothes and toys now that we know her gender, but I can't do this alone , I'm so bad at this stuff I need your help. So wake up okay? Okay, Fiore?"

No response...

Jason stood up and planted a kiss on her lips then stared at her face as if he's trying to memorize every single detail in her face, not that he already didn't, he even knew how many freckles she have.

"I love you so much, daffodil"

A tear ran down the side of Lily's face, but it wasn't Jason's tear it was hers. Jason saw that tear and followed it with his eyes until it fell off her face and disappeared into the pillow.

"Lily? You can hear me, baby?" Jason asked desperately.

He wiped the trail of the tear only for his own tear to drop down her face.

"Oh, my love, I knew you're in there listening to me. Fight, Lily, fight with everything you have for me and for our little Hope. Please.."

Jason broke down in tears before kissing Lily one more time and rushing to call the nurse or anyone

"Nurse! Where's the doctor? Get someone here!"

Jason screamed into the hall and Lily's parents woke up.

"What happened? Is Lily okay?" Lily's mother asked, horrified.

"I- I don't know, I was talking to her, I knew she was somewhere in there and that she could hear me. She cried just a minute ago, that's good right? That means she's still fighting"

"What's happening here?" Lily's doctor asked as he entered the room.

"Lily just cried. What does that mean? That means that her body is still fighting, right?"

The doctor just stood there looking at Lily and back at Jason.

"What the fuck are you looking at? Check on her, see what's happening, do something!" Jason screamed.

"Jason, you need to relax. Coma patients may hear what's going around them, many have normal brain-stem auditory evoked responses and normal physiologic responses to auditory stimuli. In other words, this tear doesn't change anything, her body gave up, that tear was probably a natural response to what she heard"

"No, that can't be right! You have to check on her, do it!" Jason screamed.

"Jason, son, calm down" Jason's father in law said.

"I don't care whatever you say, check on her again!"

Lily's doctor sighed then nodded " Okay, we will run another check up on her"

"Thank you" Jason said defeatedly.

"Would you mind waiting outside? There's too much people inside the room and too much shouting happened, let's give Lily some space, yeah?"

Jason nodded hesitantly before exiting the room along with Lily's parents.

"What's going on?" Jason's parents asked as they saw everyone waiting outside the room. They just came to check on Jason after he ran off earlier.

Lily's parents explained what happened to them as Jason paced through the hall.

"Honey, sit down, walking around won't help. Come sit beside me." Jason's mom said.

Jason didn't want to sit, he couldn't when he's feeling anxious and nervous. He did listen to his mother and sat next to her, but his legs kept shaking as he bit his fingers.

His father placed a hand in his legs trying to calm him down as his mom held his hand in hers to stop him from biting his nails. Jason took a deep breath, trying to control himself before laying his head back on the wall.

Few minutes passed by and Jason was getting restless by each second, he was hoping for good news, for a miracle.

The door to the room opened and Lily's doctor came out with Lily's file in his hand. He gave them a sad smile which explained everything, but Jason had to ask and make sure.

"So? How is she?"

"There's no change in her situation, I remain on the same diagnoses as before. I'm sorry, but there's nothing to do to change her situation. If you need me I will be in my office" The doctor said before leaving Jason with disappointment swirling inside of him.

Jason ran his hand through his hair and tugged in it in anger. He really thought that a miracle would happen, that Lily would somehow get better and recover. How stupid of him, Lily is going to leave him and miracles are complete bullshit.

Jason shook his head as they tried to talk to him and just went inside the room again, shutting the door behind, then taking a seat in the exact place he was sitting in earlier.

He held Lily's hand and just stared at her with no tears left to shed.

After hours of sitting in the same position with no words or tears or responding to anyone, Jason fell asleep on the chair. His head became heavier by each second until he quit being stubborn and slept next to Lily, hugging her body into his, like he did when they used to be happy together in their own home.

Jason woke up to an annoying sound of beeping going off and blasting his ears. He slowly opened his eyes as the light blinded him. The door slammed open and nurses ran into the room while Jason looked around confused.

And then it all clicked in, the beeping sound was coming from Lily's heart monitor, something bad was going on. Jason quickly stood up as the nurses rushed around Lily doing god knows what.

Lily's doctor ran in hurriedly as the nurse tried to push Jason outside. It was all like a dream , this is not true , this cannot be real, I'm having a nightmare.... Jason tried to convince himself as the door shut in his face.
