As she stepped into her new clothes to embark on their visit to Japan, Dharia couldn't help but admire herself in the mirror. Meanwhile, Mahir emerged from the washroom, buttoning up his T-shirt all the way to the collar. As she gazed at the last button by his throat, she strangely felt choked, her hands itching to unbutton it.
"Let's go?" he asked, spritzing on some perfume.
Dharia hesitated, glancing at his face and then at his neck. Rising on her toes, she bit her lip before finally nodding.
As they entered the crowded lift, Dharia stood close to her husband, feeling increasingly suffocated as more people squeezed in. Leaning back, she turned to see if Mahir was still behind her. Experiencing discomfort, Mahir unbuttoned his collar, a smile grew on her lips. Maybe getting in the crowded lift was not bad!
Upon reaching the ground floor, Mahir held her back by holding both of her arm lightly, letting the others pass first. Fidgeting with anticipation, Dharia tapped her foot's Tip, feeling a bit lightheaded or giddy!
As the lift got empty he tapped on her arm "Chalo" (let's go)
As they left the lift, Dharia inquired, "Where are we heading first?"
"We'll explore the market, visit Senso-ji temple, and also Meiji Jingu shrine," Mahir responded, consulting his phone.
Observing the diverse and well-groomed crowd around them, Dharia remarked, "People here are so glamorous."
"Yeah, everyone has beautiful skin and looks so vibrant," Mahir concurred.
When they boarded the metro, Mahir politely asked a passenger to vacate a two-seat space so they could sit together. Gratefully, Dharia settled in beside Mahir.
Mahir point put at the name of the station to Dharia "Can you read that?"
She tried to read it but failed miserably. Chuckling, Mahir looked down smiling.
Feeling a litte embarrassed and offended she asked "You read and tell me"
She thought he couldn't but he pronounced it so well that she looked left and right and then straight, saying nothing further. He smiles at her cuteness.
Upon alighting, they strolled together as Mahir navigated using the map. Eventually, they reached the bustling market.
"The market resembles ours a bit, but everything seems quite expensive," Dharia observed.
"Shall we eat something?" she suggested, eyeing a food stall.
"Sure, what are you in the mood for?" Mahir inquired.
"Something filling, but it all looks non-vegetarian to me," she replied, hesitating.
"I know of a vegetarian option," Mahir reassured her, taking her hand in his as they queued.
Her breath stopped for a moment but she liked it as well.
While waiting, Dharia mused, "Doraemon is a Japanese cartoon, right? Maybe we can find Dora cakes here."
"Okay, we'll search for them," Mahir promised.
After savouring their meal, they perused the clothing stalls before spotting the Dora cake shop, named Dorayaki Cake.
As the street became crowded, Mahir held Dharia's hand and guided them away, heading back to the metro to visit the temple.
The temple, not too crowded yet not entirely secluded, captivated Dharia, who took several photos.
"Do you want me to take your picture?" Mahir offered, to which she hesitantly handed her phone. Standing in front of the temple, she struggled to strike a natural pose as Mahir began to click her pictures. She began conscious all of a sudden!
He made her look at the pictures and she didn't like any of them because of the way she smiling and posing. She smiled politely at him and took her phone back.
Both entered the tranquil temple, Dharia and Mahir soaked in the peaceful atmosphere, paying close attention to the significance of the temple. Their visit concluded and they made their way back to their hotel.
Upon returning, Dharia settled down on the bed, feeling so tired because of their travels. Meanwhile, Mahir went to freshen up in the washroom. As he finished changing, he noticed Dharia had drifted off to sleep with her arms spread upon the whole bed !
Quietly, Mahir decided to wake up Dharia for dinner, knowing she had skipped a meal earlier and was likely hungry.
Gently calling her name, Dharia stirred from her sleep and blinked at her husband standing before her. She immediately sat straight on the bed and tucked her hair behind her ears not making an eye contact.
"Let's have dinner?" He said and she nodded in response.
Stepping aside, Mahir arranged for the hotel staff to deliver their meal. Dharia changed into comfortable attire and settled down on the couch to eat, the silence in the room filled by the soft sounds of their meal.
After they finished their dinner, Mahir stepped out onto the balcony.
"You won't Sleep?" She asked him as he found him looking at the Tokyo !
He turned around and shook his head "I will stay here for a While, You sleep, I will join later"
Looking out at the beautiful view behind him, Dharia acknowledged its beauty but felt too tired to savor it fully.
Curling up in the cozy comfort of the blanket, she soon fell into a peaceful slumber, feeling her body loosen with relaxation.
Later, Mahir returned to the room and joined Dharia in bed, finding his own space on the bed as well, finally settling in for the night.
