“We belong to two different worlds. We won’t have a future together. Wake up, it’s better for everyone if I leave you.” Gu Mengmeng’s tears rolled down her eyes uncontrollably as Snakel felt his heart being tugged at while looking at her sorrowful gaze.

He hugged Gu Mengmeng in his arms tightly, whispering into her ear, “I know that we belong to two different worlds so I came. I came to your world to find you, I came to your world to wait for you....you clearly like me too, don’t you? Why do you have to leave? Hmm?”

Snakel’s voice was shaking, every word of his heavily knocking against Gu Mengmeng’s ear.

Gu Mengmeng sniffed and said, “Your parents are here...they won’t consent to us getting together. I don’t want to see you getting hurt because of me so I left.”

Snakel’s spine froze. Then, he suddenly broke out into a smile and placed both his hands on Gu Mengmeng’s shoulders. He squinted his eyes at Gu Mengmeng and said, “So, that was why you wanted to leave?”

Gu Mengmeng nodded, not having the courage to stare into Snakel’s eyes.

Snakel took a deep breath. He was extremely angry and was fuming mad until he exploded but he could not bring himself to do anything to her.

He really really wanted to know what was stored in that brain of hers?!

Ah, he knew everything without needing to open her brain.

“You watched too many television dramas.” Snakel clenched his teeth hard and growled, “From today onwards, you’re permitted from reading those unhealthy romantic novels and watching those messed-up television dramas.”

“Ah?” Gu Mengmeng was confused, weren’t they talking about breaking up? Wasn’t the atmosphere very solemn just a while ago? What had this got to do with romantic novels and television dramas? Romantic novels and television dramas were both innocent.

Snakel squinted his eyes and questioned her, “You feel that my parents will smack your face with a cheque and demand you to leave me, right?”

Gu Mengmeng was shocked as she nodded her head.

“You feel that my Mother might pour water at you, right?” Snakel questioned further.

Gu Mengmeng nodded again.

Following each of Gu Mengmeng’s nod, Snakel’s smirk grew even wider. He probed, “You feel that if I did not want to separate with you, my parents will hold me captive....and then I’ll protest by going on a hunger strike. My parents will use your safety to threaten me and force me to give in. Eventually, I’ve to abide by my family’s wish and marry someone I don’t like and we will never see each other again, right?”

Blushing, Gu Mengmeng nodded her head once again.

Snakel lifted his hand up and really wanted to strangle her to death.

But what a pity, he could not bear to do it.

In the end, he flicked her forehead and said, “You linked me with all the useless trash in those novels? Huh?”

“Ah?” Gu Mengmeng blanked out, Snakel’s pace was too fast for her.

Snakel pinched his nose bridge and said, “I know of your desire for kinship so I wanted to introduce you to my parents. After all, when we get married in the future, they will be your family. I want to make up for the regrets you experienced with your family so that you can get the same love and protection others have from their parents. Let’s not talk about this first, you’ll naturally understand it soon.”

Gu Mengmeng was still stuck in her dumbfounded state. She could only stare at Snakel blankly.

Snakel continued, “Am I just a piece of trash in your eyes? Hmm?”

Gu Mengmeng wanted to nod her head habitually but she regained her rationality after meeting eyes with Snakel so she shook her head.

Snakel sighed heavily and said, “Do you think that I will allow someone to smack your face with a cheque? Someone to pour water at you? And someone to hold me captive and then bully you?”

Breathing out a deep breath, Snakel then added, “If my parents are people who will do this kind of actions, do you think that I’ll introduce you to them without putting my guard up?”
