Diamonds

I stepped out of the shower with my hair in a dry bun so it didn't get wet and wrapped a towel around my body as I wiped the fog off of the mirror to see my reflection. I had recently been doing this lately and reflecting all of my problems onto myself and telling myself that it's what I do because I'm human, and humans make decisions to help them survive.

For me, I continued fighting for Williams who oh so happily enjoys my presence everytime he sees me. Last night, I fought for $6,000 and next week, a race for $7,000. It's good money and it helps keep my survival skills sharp and steady, which is really helpful just in case life takes a sharp turn and you have to brace yourself for any impact.

I shook off my thoughts and instead started moisturizing my body like normal and brushed my teeth to it's cleanest porcelain state. I walked in to my walk in closet and pulled out a regular outfit for today since I didn't actually have much to do except for go to dinner tonight with the Royal Aces, which I'm not looking forward to. I'm just a little skeptical that they might try negotiating with me again, and that shit just annoys me.

I pulled on my fuzzy socks that completed my look and looked in the full body mirror at my outfit. I had one of my long hoodies on with no shorts since the guys said they would be gone for the morning, so I had the house all to myself once again.

I walked down the stairs with Soldier in suit and let him out the back yard to do his business. In the meantime I poured myself a cup of juice since we had already eaten breakfast, and waited for Soldier to come back into the house so we could watch a movie. After a couple more seconds he finally ran through the door and I closed it behind him and slid on the marble floor all the way to the theatre room.

I set up a movie in the projector and jumped on to one of the big bean bag chairs in front of the large white screen and waited for the movie to start playing. After many trailers the movie started to play production credits and I walked over to the cup board to get a soft blanket. I laid it over my body and scratched Soldier's head as Ted the movie started playing.

After almost two hours and the movie coming to an end a loud, "BOO" makes me jump and land on the hard carpeted floor beneath me. Soldier quickly comes to my aid and starts licking my hand as laughs started to fill the room.

"A-are you ok-kay precious?" Blake said in between laughter.

"Ugh, you guys are such idiots," I mumbled under my breath as I started to get up and fold the blanket.

"You should've seen your face," Kai exclaimed and burst out into another fit of laughter. I rolled my eyes and placed the blanket in the cupboard and walked out of the theatre room with Soldier right next to me.

I noticed the maids setting down plates of food at the table and both Soldier and I rushed over to it. I jumped onto my seat as another maid had walked back over to me and placed Soldier's bowl of food and water on my side. I gave her a grateful smile and she gave me a curt nod then walked away.

We waited for the boys to get to the table and when they did, they were still chuckling a bit. They sat down at their seats and started digging in, I gave Soldier the 'go' signal and he started chewing on his dog food as well.

"So how was your morning?" I asked as I scooped up some corn from my plate.

"You made it so much better," Liam chuckled. I gave him a glare and he quickly averted his gaze to his food.

"Okay but seriously, it was just a normal day. Went to go talk to Jack but he only said one thing the whole time," Kai said a little troubled.

"And that was?" I asked absentmindedly.

"I don't know, something like 'Maa taua nutililii', I don't know."

I dropped my cutlery onto my plate, causing a loud clink to snap their heads towards me. The thoughts of the gunshot rang through my ears again and the smile he had on his face before he faced his death played in my mind again. I mean, how could I forget something so easily, he died just yesterday.

I felt my face go pale as the many possibilities started to satiate through my mind again, what are the chances?

"Diamonds what is it?" Kai asked putting his warm hand on my arm to pull me out of my thoughts. I looked back up to him bewildered and whispered my next words, "Shattered Jewels..."

"What do you mean?" Liam asked confused.

"Do you think- no. They couldn't have, was this their plan? Was everything set up? Oh my God I'm gonna end up getting a headache-"

"Diamonds, breathe," Kai imitated taking deep breathes in and out and I followed and my heart started beating normally again.

"Now, explain," he started rubbing soothing circles on my arm which instantly made me relax a little more.

"Maa taua nutililii translates to 'Shattered Jewels,' but I'm wondering how in the hell Jack knew about it unless-" my eyes widened at a theory that could possibly explain everything that's been going on these past few weeks.

"Unless? What the fuck are you talking about Diamonds?" Blake asked frustrated at my stuttering.

"Diamonds come and sit down," Kai said as he watched me pace back and forth.

I reluctantly sat down into my seat and started quickly shoving my face with my lunch, "I need to talk to him," I said with my mouth full.

"Woah slow down you might die," I slowed down my chewing and looked up to Kai, "You can talk to him, but you have to explain everything to us later," he chuckled humorlessly.

They didn't believe, that's good, because I didn't want to believe myself either. Everything just started making sense like I had just figured out how to remove a coffee stain from carpet; it almost absolutely didn't. I didn't want to believe this was my brother's plan, I just wanted it to be my imagination running wild and just making up things that I didn't want to admit was the truth and I was actually quite nervous for my chat with Jack, I mean, wouldn't you be?

I pulled into the warehouse parking lot once again for the second day in a row now. Looking up at the building I couldn't help but remember the last time I came in here, how sad I was I had left and the guilt that engulfed his body.

But I couldn't think of that right now, so instead, I shook the thought off and let Soldier out of the car and followed the guys inside of the ware house. The dirt and blood still on the concrete stairs, Soldier's leash under my tight grip, and walking behind Blake again with two other guards behind me.

We stopped at a metal door and another guard had pulled it open to reveal who I assume is Jack in a brightly lit room. Kai pulled up a chair in front of him and gestured for me to sit down while Soldier would sit next to me. The light made Jack slowly flutter his eyes open but close them tightly as they stung his eyes and he hissed at the burn.

When he finally looked at me I realized he had brown shaggy hair with dark brown bloodshot eyes, probably from exhaustion. I tilted my head to the side and eyed his body attentively as the door shut behind me. I turned around to see no one in the room except for the both of us and Soldier, but instead a one way mirror where I was sure the guys were watching us through.

I focussed my gaze back onto Jack who looked at me and smirked, "Like what you see?"

I let out a sigh and shook my head at his stupidity, "This is how it's going to work, I'm going to give you my respect in return for yours. That means no lying, no negotiating, and no stalling, got it?" I asked bluntly. I just needed these goddamn answers and get out of here so I could continue on my book report, I'm pretty engrossed in it too if you ask me.

"Why should I trust you?" He asked scowling.

" Aua e leai se tasi i lenei fale e mafai ona tatou malamalama i Samoa sei vagana ai oe," I said narrowing my eyes at him. (Translation: Because no one in this building can understand Samoan except for you)

His eyes widened with shock and he looked at me with astonishment, "Maa taua nutililii?" He asked with hope laced in his voice. (Translation: Shattered Jewels?)

"O au o lona tuafafine," I stated calmly, hoping he admits to that my theory is correct. (Translation: I'm his sister)

He sat up straighter in his seat, causing Soldier to growl at his sudden movement but I placed my hand on his head to calm him down. He looked at me flabbergasted and whispered so low I was shocked I even heard him, "O oe o le tasi sa ia fai mai o le a laveaiina i tatou uma," he laughed in the air and shouted, " Ua oo mai le fesoasoani e laveai au!" (Translation: You're the one he said would save us all. Help has come to save me!)

This man was really acting so dramatic he needs to calm down what the fuck.

"Aua seia oo ina e tali au fesili goddamn," I hissed. He nodded his head and sat up straighter in his seat, waiting eagerly to finish this little Q/A.

(Translation: Not until you answer my goddamn questions)

"E faapefea ona e iloa lou uso? " I questioned as I put one leg over the other and rested my elbows on the arm rests. I leaned back into the chair and awaited his answer. (Translation: How do you know my brother?)

"O au o lona faalua i poloaiga," he stated nonchalantly. I scoffed as my theory was proven right, Jewels was a gang leader and had secretly built a gang. (Translation: I'm his second in command)

"O lea o ia o se taitai o le gang?" He nodded his head in response so I moved onto my next question, "Lelei pe aisea na e taumafai ma malosi uta a isi? " (Translation: So he was a gang leader? Well why did you try and hijack another's shipments?)

Jack shrugged his shoulders and leaned back, "Tatou ua ua gaoi a isi faikegi uta mo sina taimi i le taimi nei ma le faatauina atu o i latou, sa e le fogavaa o kata muamua e pue ai tatou," He sneered his last sentence and scowled towards the one way mirror. (Translation: We've been stealing other gang's shipments for awhile now, the Deck of Cards were the first to catch us)

I narrowed my eyes at him and asked my next question carefully, "Mo le a le umi?" I was really having an advantage at this point, he thought I as playing for the same team, but little did he know I was doing the exact opposite, it was sad actually. (Translation: For how long?)

"2 Tausuga," He let out a yawn afterwards while I thought for my next question, and I wanted it to be good. (Translation: Two years)

"O fea o lou faavae i le?" I asked quickly. (Translation: where is your base at?)

He shot his head up and eyed me suspiciously, "Aisea?" (Translation: Why?)

"Ina ia mafai ona ou tau atu le isi le fuafuaga i le fesoasoani e te sola ese, e le mafai ona moni ua talu ai o loo i ai tagata e matamata i tatou," I nudged the last part at him and he shaped his mouth into an 'o' before nodding enthusiastically for understanding. (Translation: So I can tell the others the plan on helping you escape, I can't really do it since there are people watching us)

"Maouta i Saute o le aai," he said quickly and I nodded my head and mentally took note of the information before heading towards the door as it pulled open for Soldier and I to walk out. (Translation: South outskirts of the city)

"Folafola atu e faia mea e tau atu!" I heard him call out behind me, plead hiding in his voice. (Translation: Promise you'll do as you say!)

"O le a ou folafola sili atu nai lo lou sao atu, ou te tuuina atu le saolotoga," I yelled over my shoulder and walked out, leaving him laughing in victory until the door shut close. (Translation: I'll promise more than your escape, I'll promise you freedom)

"What did you say?" Kai asked as he stormed towards us.

I let out a sigh of content and gave him a mischievous smile, "It's not about what I said, it's about what he said."
