After turning in the assignments I had already finished after school, I decided to go take a 'me' day and relax while I still can. I can't even remember the last time I've had a day like this because I've been so caught up with fighting and business with Williams that I never really had time to relax. So my agenda is full for today and now I'm on my way to the spa.
I pulled into the parking lot and made my way into the cozy building. The smell of coconut filled the air and I immediately fell in love with it. I walked up to the front desk and gave a warm smile to the lady looking at a computer.
"How may I help you?" She asked with a smile of her own.
Remembering that I don't have anyone with me, I had to speak up, "I have an appointment under Veronica," Yeah yeah, I use a fake name when making appointments but that's only because I'm a little paranoid of someone hunting me down and trying to find as much information as possible like I did with Jake, I like to be discreet.
"Oh yes, you can go ahead and follow Maria to the back and we'll get you started."

After two hours of getting a massage and a mani-pedi, I went to the mall to do a bit of shopping. I got some new shoes, a few pair of leggings and jeans, and went to Victoria Secret for some lingerie. I even went to the food court to get some Subway while walking around the mall.
As I was about to head home a pet store caught my eye and before I knew it, I was already staring at puppies. I looked around the store for awhile before a Siberian husky with steel blue eyes caught my attention and my heart melted at the sight of it. It was staring at me quite attentively and we ended up having a stare off.
"He must like you," a man in a blue vest came up to me and stood by my side.
"Whenever somebody comes by he usually barks at them, but this is the first time I've ever seen him so silent and make eye contact with a human before," he explained. An idea popped into my head in a flash that would probably make Kai mad but I didn't care, this doggo could be useful to us and plus, it already loves me.
"How much?" I asked as I crouched down to get a better look at him.
"Around $200 ma'am," he said rocking back and forth on his feet.
"Why so cheap?" I asked surprised. The other dogs in this shop were at least over five hundred, some even over a thousand.
"This dog is very aggressive. He's caused a lot of problems and plus, no one likes a dog that excessively barks all the time, he's been here for awhile since no one will buy him," he explained scratching the back of his neck.
"Perfect," I whispered. I stood back up and looked at the man with a mischievous smile etched on my face, "I'll take him."
"A-are you sure?" He asked uncertain.
"You heard me," I replied harshly. He nodded his head and went to the back to retrieve him. I watched as he clipped a leash onto his collar and brought him back out to me. When he came back out he handed me the leash uneasily.
"T-this is the quietest he's ever been," he stated astonished. I shrugged my shoulders and he led me to the counter for payment. I looked at the little tags hanging on the side and I tossed a black one in the shape of a paw to him.
"What are you gonna name him?" He asked as he put it under a machine that etched words onto it.
After awhile of thinking a great name for him popped into my head, "Soldier," I looked down to the dog for assurance and he just stared up at me.
"That's the perfect name for an aggressive dog like him," he chuckled. Just then the dog barked at him which made the clerk jump back up in fear.
I giggled and crouched down so we were at eye level, "Good boy," I said scratching his chin. In response he started panting through his mouth which made him look like he was smiling. I giggled and added in some dog food, treats, a new leash, a new collar, toys, a bed, and bowls.
After buying Soldier we walked back out to my car in silence, the only sound that was made was the sound of the shopping bags that dragged against each other. I placed them in the trunk and went to the passenger's side and opened the door.
Before letting him in I crouched down to his level and pointed a finger at him, "If you make a mess in my car or make it hard for me to drive, you will have no treats for the whole week," I threatened playfully. In response he whined and I let him jump into my Ferrari. I was being so protective of this dog I even buckled him in.
I rounded the car and got into the driver's side before pulling out of the parking lot on my way back home. I hope that Kai won't be too mad about my little shopping spree, I'll make him understand at least. Soldier could be great help and plus, it already seems like he can listen to every word I say. He could be like a cute little guard dog, ugh that would be so cool.
I pulled into the driveway and opened the door for soldier and grabbed my bags from the trunk. I decided to test him on his listening skills and placed the handles of the small bags into his mouth and let him carry those into the house. Surprisingly, he didn't drop one single bag and I felt like a proud mom along the way.
We stepped into the foyer where some maids grabbed my schoolbag and shopping bags up the stairs into my bedroom. They eyed the dog suspiciously but I just gave them an assuring smile which eased them a little bit. I took his leash off and he followed me to the dining room where my plate of food was already waiting for me.
Instead, I made my way into the kitchen and rinsed the dog bowls and filled them with water and food. I carried them to the dining room and set them down next to my seat and Soldier sat in front of them patiently. I plopped down into my seat and arched an eyebrow at him. He stared at me waiting for a signal, I gave him a nod and he started munching on to his food.
After dinner I took him out back first so he could do his business and led him into my bedroom. He silently followed behind me up the stairs and into the room and I set up his small bed next to mine and changed into sweatpants and a tube top.
I thought about Kai's reaction to having a dog around the house but Soldier could be some good help, especially with how he listens to me. Now that I think of it, I think I kind of miss Kai. I miss his warm embrace and his cologne and even his cocky smirks. I'm just glad that he's coming home tomorrow morning and I can finally annoy the hell out of him again, that's gonna be a blast.

I woke up in the middle of the night to loud barking and low screams of protests. I jumped out of bed immediately and grabbed my gun under my nightstand and hurried out of my bedroom down the dark hallway.
The screams started getting louder along with the barking, and when I approached the dimly lit foyer everything started to make sense.
"Soldier! Here boy!" My yell echoed against the walls of the mansion and he immediately stopped barking and ran over to my side. I looked up to the intruder only to see that it wasn't an intruder at all, it was the owner of this goddamn house.
"Fuck Diamonds! Why is there a goddamn dog in my house!?" Kai yelled at me. I lowered my head shamefully and took a small step back, ugh, I knew bringing a dog here was a bad idea. I just thought he could be a good help. Now I feel like a bitch for bringing a dog into a house that isn't my own. Fuck, I hate feeling disappointment.
"Answer me goddammit!" He roared. I crouched down to Soldier and scratched his chin, "Go back upstairs," I ordered. Soldier walked back up the stairs calmly and I approached the three men slowly.
"Diamonds, why is there a dog in this house?" Blake asked harshly.
"He listens to me," I answered softly.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" Kai bellowed.
"S-sorry," I mumbled, "I just thought he could be a good help."
I heard him sigh and drag a hand over his face before Liam whispered to him to talk privately. They all walked a couple feet away so I couldn't hear their discussion. Many harsh whispers were heard and I thought it would take awhile so I sat criss crossed on the marble floor. I never found the color white so fascinating until now.
"Ok, fine," I heard Kai mumble. They all walked back up to me but I kept my head down in disappointment.
"C'mon princess, get up," Kai said softly. I slowly got up from my position on the floor but used my hair as a curtain to shield my face. I felt a finger brush my hair behind my ear and tilt my chin up to see a sad look in Kai's eyes.
"I'm sorry for raising my voice at you princess, I was just surprised that's all. You can keep your dog," he placed a soft kiss on my forehead which made my heart flutter. My disappointment released itself off of my shoulders at his apology and I couldn't help but smile.
"I'm sorry too, I should've asked first to bring a dog into your house," I said sadly.
"It's alright precious, consider this as our thank you for tracking down Jake," Blake chimed in. Kai nodded in agreement and I giggled in joy. I skipped to the bottom of the staircase and yelled up towards the stairs, "Soldier, down here now!" I ordered.
I heard his paws clicking against the marble floor soon followed with his panting until he stopped next to me and sat down, awaiting more orders.
"You can stay with us, isn't that good?" I smiled crouching down. He barked in response and I giggled.
"Let's go get you a treat yeah?" He followed me into the kitchen and I placed my gun on the counter before opening the pantry to grab his treats. I threw one in the air and he caught it and munched down on it. I looked behind him to see the three boys looking at me in shock mixed with confusion as I put the treats away.
"So she can talk to animals too, great," Liam mumbled as he sat down at the kitchen island.
"I can't talk to animals doofus, the store clerk actually told me that Soldier is an aggressive dog but he pointed out that this is the most quiet he's been since he's seen me. I thought he would be like a cool guard dog or something," I said pouring water into his bowl.
"A guard dog is pretty awesome. Don't you think Kai?" Liam asked.
"Yeah, just make sure he doesn't bite me," Kai said glaring at him. "Hey, where'd you get the gun from?" He asked eyeing me suspiciously. Instead of answering I zipped an imaginary zipper along the line of my lips and pretended to throw away the key.
"You named him Soldier?" Blake asked as he sat down next to Kai, changing the subject.
"Yeah, I thought it suited him. Right Soldier?" I asked as I started warming up the leftovers from dinner for the guys. He barked in response and sat in front of the back door. I went to open it and he rushed out and did his business.
I went back and served the food to them as they talked about chasing Jack. It might've been a few days but I missed these guys. I forgot how good it was to finally talk to someone like this, and trust me, it's been awhile since I have.
"Diamonds, we have to tell you something," Liam said as he poked at his food.
"What happened?" I asked puzzled.
"It's about Jewels-" before he could finish his sentence my mind stopped working and the bad memories started taking over once again. All that he's done to me started replaying as if I was there all over again. The dark basement, the screams of children, the words that he said to me...
' You ruined me Diamonds. So I will ruin you... '
"Diamonds are you okay?" My head shot up to meet the guys' faces as they all showed the same thing: concern.
"Mhm, sorry, dozed off a bit," I lied.
"Well be careful where you step," I was confused at first but when I looked down I immediately knew what he meant. Shards of glass were scattered around the floor and I realized that I must've dropped a cup while dozing off.
I felt someone hold me from my waist and place me on the counter. I looked up to see Kai's eyes watching me with worry but I gave him an assuring smile before looking back down at my lap.
After the boys cleaned up my mess, which I protested against, I hopped off of the counter and let Soldier back in. I walked into the living room and sat down on the floor next to Soldier who just laid down with his head on my lap while I gave him head scratches.
The boys walked in a few minutes after me and sank down in the sofa in front of me, "Well, like we were trying to tell you, Diamonds. We have Jewels in holding."
I looked up to Kai bewildered and I froze in my spot for second before continuing to scratch Soldier's head, "Y-you do?" I asked hopefully.
"Yeah, we've had him since you left your house actually, we just wanted to get answers out of him first before telling you," Blake admitted.
"So what did he tell you?" I asked lowly.
"Nothing, that's why we're telling you this now," Kai leaned in and placed his elbows on his knees and dragged his hand down on his face. "We wanted to ask you what to do with him since he's worth nothing to us."
"I want his head," I blurted out strongly. It was true and it was what I needed to put myself at ease. I couldn't care if he died because he didn't care if he killed me himself. I didn't want to be afraid of him coming back to bring hell into my life, and if killing him is the way, then so be it.
"Are you sure Diamonds? We could always do something else-"
"You fucking heard me," I spat.
Soldier barked in my lap and I continued to run my fingers through his soft fur. "I'll kill him myself if I have to," I warned.
"No, it's okay princess. We got this under control." Kai assured. I nodded my head at him and felt relief wash over my body at his words. I was finally going to be free, I wasn't going to suffer any longer.
