I took a small nap before it was time to go to ease my body. When it was time to go I placed a hoodie over my body and left Liam a note saying that dinner was on the stove. As I made my way out of the front door I saw that Liam's car was nowhere in sight, huh, wonder where he is.
I dragged myself into the garage and threw my bag onto the passengers seat. I took a deep breath and organized my thoughts...

I drove out of the driveway and followed the address that I was given. On my way there I could only think about why that guy was looking at me during lunch, what was so interesting about me that he was looking at me that way? Was there something on my hoodie? Was I doing something wrong? Ugh it's not my problem I shouldn't worry about it-
"We have arrived at your destination," I jumped a little at the voice that was directing me to a dark warehouse. Yeahhh... not suspicious at alllll....
I grabbed my duffel and turned off my engine as I examined the warehouse. It looked empty, like nobody was even here-
A knock on my window made me jump and I immediately scowled at the person who scared me. I opened my car door to a man who looked twice my size in a black Armani suit. He looked down at me and led me to a brown metal door. It was only then did I realize many expensive cars lined the street of the warehouse. I immediately lit up at the thought of how high these bets were going to go and how much I'd be taking home. I was so deep into thought that I failed to notice the familiar BMW Z4 that was lined up on the side of the street, but I'll find out later on...
We walked through the door and descended down the dark stairs that led to an illegal underground fight club. I watched in awe at the two men who were on the verge of killing each other until the big man cleared his throat. He nodded his head to the right and directed me inside of the office.
Five unfamiliar men were surrounding the big mahogany desk which William sat behind. Once his eyes landed on me his face lit up and a big toothy grin was plastered on his face. He rounded the desk and made his way to me, "Gold! How are you honey?" Yeah, that's my fighting name. I can't have people knowing my identity to prevent getting in trouble with police so William provided me with a mask and a fighting name.
"I'm good William, how are you?" William was a respectful man. He actually treats me like a daughter believe it or not. I mean I am his best fighter, and all I've asked from him is his respect or else I won't give him any of mine, which means I have to talk to him.
"I'm alright, but you have a fight in 20 minutes so Paul here will show you to the locker room and let you get ready. Don't disappoint!" He encouraged.
"When have I ever?!" I yelled over my shoulder as I made my way to the locker rooms. Once inside I took my hoodie off and and put my hair into two French braids. I started doing my normal warm up routine as I started getting ready.

A knock on the locker room door let me know it was my turn to fight, so I took a drink from my water bottle, put on my mask, and made my way out the door. I walked to the ring where many people were chanting loudly and growing impatient for another fight. A balcony circled the walls where more elegant men were standing; men involved with gangs.
I was never one to join a gang but I was just one of the fighters. William did teach me how to use a gun though just in case anything goes wrong. The men were drinking from champagne glasses but I could hardly make out any faces since the lighting was so dim. Oh and how I wish I had...
"This fight is definitely one for the history books folks... give it up... FOR MAZE!" I watched as a big man walked into the ring all sweaty and bulky which made me want to gag. Seeing people drenched in their own sweat was honestly a pet peeve for me, especially if they were going to touch me.
The crowd roared in enthusiasm at the sight of the man in the ring, but quickly quieted down when the announcer started again, "And the undefeated champion across the states... GOLD!"
The crowd cheered and whistled as I stepped inside. The big man looked like a raging bull that was ready to attack as his eyes landed on my figure. He was either determined to fight me or just really really scared and tried to cover it up by making me intimidated. Either way, I stood there bored because I've learned to go with the flow.
The bell rung and we got into our fighting stances and I started observing the man's body; bruise on his right knee, stitches on his side, and he looks pretty hot headed. He went straight in for the punch but I dodged it before it could make contact with my cheek. I immediately sent a jab to his stitches and he hunched over in pain which let me easily knee him in the face. He stumbled back and I tried to send a roundhouse kick to his temple. Key word: tried.
Maze got ahold of my ankle before it could make contact. I was taken aback by the dodge but gained my composure back and jumped as hard as I could and did a backflip, kicking his jaw in the process. He let go of my ankle and stumbled to the corner where I immediately started raining punches on him.
His face started to sink into his own blood and I watched as a tooth flew out of his mouth. Once I thought he's had enough I backed away and steadied my breath until the crowd counted down from ten.
"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! GOLD!"
Maze dropped to the ground in failure as I exited the ring with many people patting my back in congratulations. I rushed my way to the locker room and into the shower to wash off any blood and sweat. After I was done I put on my spare clothes that I had packed and covered myself with my hoodie. With shorts on it looked like the only thing I was wearing was my hoodie but it didn't matter, I had no one to impress anyway.
I entered William's office who looked like a kid on Christmas morning, "Gold! Congratulations as always!" he said.
I gave him a faint smile and sat down on one of the leather chairs and relaxed, "Thanks William. I have to head home now I'm sorry I can't stay any longer but could I have my share and go please?" I asked politely. He pulled out a briefcase and opened it to find $10,000 cash inside. I double checked if it was all there and once I was satisfied I gave William a hug goodbye and left the warehouse.
On my way to my car I heard window smashing and a car alarm go off nearby. I looked over to see what the commotion was to only see the familiar BMW Z4 getting smashed to pieces by three men with baseball bats. Before I could go over and stop them I saw Liam and his two other friends shoot the men down. Not kill them, but injure them enough.
At the sight of them I immediately jumped into my car with my duffel and briefcase and sped off into the night. "9:48," I breathed out. On my way home I stopped to get some gas and some snacks for tomorrow.
After buying enough snacks to last me the rest of the week, I took my time on getting home. When I pulled into the garage I didn't see any car in the driveway so I assumed no one was home yet. My mind had been swirling with questions ever since I left that ware house and I knew I wasn't going to sleep that peacefully tonight. The thought of Liam being there kept nagging at me as why he would be there in the first place? You know what, it's best to not ask any questions and just wait until someone opens up about it.
I went into the kitchen and gasped at the sight in front of me. It was Liam and his two friends sitting at the island of the kitchen and eating the dinner I had made. Their bodies covered in bruises and their eyes looking lifeless. When I gasped their heads immediately shot up to me and I was standing there opening and closing my mouth like a fish. I didn't want to believe it was Liam there, I really didn't. I didn't want them to figure me out and I definitely didn't want them to be the people to do it.
Maybe if I had stayed behind I could've helped them, I could've prevented this from happening. I may be a bitch sometimes but I have a fucking heart.
"Cat got your tongue?" One of the boys said. He had platinum blonde hair and steel blue eyes, but I couldn't really tell since it was swollen. Liam and the God chuckled at his comment which quickly brought me back to reality. I dropped the concern from my face and shrugged it off. I walked towards the fridge and started placing my snacks inside as well as the pantry. I could feel their eyes boring into the back of my head which was covered with my hoodie, and now that I think of it I don't think they even saw my face when it was buried behind my hair.
"Oh my gosh are those cookies! Diamonds can I have those please?" I heard Liam ask from behind me. I turned around slowly with the cookies in hand and shook my head no. I was about to put them into the pantry when all of a sudden I got a feeling that he'd steal them during the night. So I placed them back into the plastic bag and headed to my bedroom.
I took off my hoodie and undressed myself of my clothes. I put a long shirt on with no shorts and climbed into my bed for a good night's rest.
As I was falling asleep I couldn't help but recall everything that happened tonight, I mean, why did those men damage Liam's car? Why was Liam there with his friends? Was Liam fighting? Was Liam a bidder? Is that why his car got destroyed? Because someone lost a bet against him? What the hell!
I decided to brush the thought off and think about something else. Before I dove into the sea of dreams I thought about checking up on my mom tomorrow when I woke up.
