Chapter 19: XIX - "FitBit"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 11228

I opened the front door and the comforting aroma of breakfast filled my nostrils as I walked in. I had went out to the gym early this morning to get my day started before school so I could be ready for tomorrow. I had been training these past few days while Kai, Liam, and Blake went out to go deal with Jack Thompson and his attempt to steal the Deck of Cards' shipment thanks to me.

Since they went to do business that also means that they've had to miss a couple days of school - which I actually didn't mind, kind of. I mean it feels a little abnormal to not have them around that much but it's also nice to start focussing a little more on myself again. I've been training and finishing some school work without interruptions, I even went to go visit George at his penthouse which was really nice. But most of my time I've spent wandering around the rooms of the house and studying for upcoming Winter exams.

Kai and the others have been calling me everyday to check up on me, saying that they had to travel to another state just to catch him since he's been on the run when he found out they were looking for him. It was actually quite funny, he tries stealing from the Deck of Cards and he thinks he can get away with it. But since he's been moving around a lot they can't catch him, smart, but dumb.

I finished my breakfast that the chef had prepared for me and hurried upstairs to get ready. Since the house has been silent these past couple of days I've been left with my thoughts, which was uncomfortable. But whenever the negativity starts flooding my mind I just sing a song or call Williams or George, that always helps me get my mind off of things. My mom has been trying to call me but I just ignore them and go on with my day, she really disappointed me this week, taking Jewels' side instead of mine. She knew what he put me through but instead pushed it aside and focussed on the fact that he was back. It's not like he had changed, he just looked more murderous.

I shake off my thoughts about Jewels and instead start picking out my outfit for today. I dried my wet hair with the towel while using my other hand to hold up the towel that was wrapped around my wet body and searched through the hangers. After my eye finally caught an outfit I slipped it off the hanger and set it on to my bed. I went back into my closet to get a black lace lingerie piece and slipped them on - I walked back over to the outfit that was laying on top of my comforter and slipped it on as well. I hurried over to my vanity and put a couple of of snap clips into my hair to set it in place, and I applied some cherry chapstick onto my lips.

I tied on my shoes and arranged my room before heading out to school. I slung my bag over my shoulder and headed out the front door into Robin and stayed put for a second, listening to the satisfying sound of the engine before driving off.

Since none of the guys were here, I've been parking in Liam's spot until they come back. I still continued to ignore onlookers and avoid speaking to anybody until I get my day over with. Some of the days I just go without talking at all which I'm not complaining about, but again, it feels abnormal since the guys are kind of growing on me. I guess I just kind of miss having them annoy me every once in awhile but I've been occupying myself in the book report and training, so at least I have something to do throughout my day.

I walk up to my locker and put in my combination to grab my books. I feel someone's heated gaze on the side of my head and when I turn, Rachel Tilton is glaring at me while she stomps towards me in her regular clothes. I scoff at her attempt to make me intimidated and continue to pull my books out and place them in my back.

"You!" She screeches from behind me.

I turn around and give her an annoyed once over. She's wearing a short leather skirt that rides up her ass and a shirt that exposes her boobs way too much for my liking. I've noticed she's not wearing her usual cheerleading uniform which could only mean one thing...

"You got me kicked off the cheer squad! Do you realize what you did to me? Cheerleading is my life!" She shrieked. At this point everybody's eyes were on us and started coming closer, trying to get a closer view of the situation that might unfold. Nostalgia flowed through my body from our last encounter, and let me tell you, it did not end well for her.

I gave her a bored look and arched an eyebrow, trying to see the point in her little temper tantrum.

"And then, daddy took away my credit cards until I can find a job! A job! It's unbelievable!" She complained.

She cannot be serious right now, can she?

I knotted my eyebrows in confusion, trying to see the point. After a couple of seconds I let out a little hum of defeat and shut my locker and made my way towards homeroom, ignoring the little stomps of her heels and the yells she let out behind me. I chuckled at her reaction and just continued to class.

After copying notes for first and second period, I carried my AP books in my hands and hurried to my third period so I didn't have to be late. I knew I should've just gone to the bathroom during class.

As I hurried through the hallways everybody made a clear path for me to get through which I was thankful for. They've been doing this ever since I've been hanging out with the boys and I guess they just treat me with as much respect as them, considering that I'm Liam's step sister after all.

I finally made it to class just as the bell rung and I start catching my breath as I make my way to the seat in the far back. The teachers have also been giving me the same treatment as the boys but instead with much more kindness since my record doesn't show any bad behaviour.

During the middle of Mr. Oliver's lesson I felt my phone vibrate from under my thigh. I sneakily look at the screen to see Kai calling me. I mentally groan and roll my eyes at the call, he knows I'm at school, why would he bother?

I clear my throat to get Mr. Oliver's attention and I hold my phone up to show him someone's calling me. He respectfully nods his head in understanding. That's the benefit of having respect from the teacher's, they won't say a word about any actions you do.

I grab my bag and walk out of the door to call Kai back.

"Hello?" I asked quietly.

"Hey princess! How's your day?" He asked enthusiastically.

I rolled my eyes but remembered he couldn't see me, "Dude I'm in school. Is it an emergency?" I whispered harshly.

"No, but just wanted to hear your voice. Jack has been acting like a total bitch and moves around too much," he complained with a hint of annoyance in his voice. I tried ignoring the blush that crept onto my cheeks at his small compliment and instead let the gears in my head start moving.

I start speeding my way towards the computer lab and plop down in front of the Apple desktop, "Was there any electronic device on him?" I asked as I logged into the computer.

"We've already tried tracking his phone, it's blocked off princess-"

"That's not what I asked," I said harshly.

I heard a sigh on the other end of the line and also some one mumbling, "Blake said he saw a FitBit or something," he answered unsurely.

I started typing aggressively onto the keyboard and in a minute or two, I found his location. I ended the call with Kai and connected my phone to the desktop and got the tracker placed in my phone. I sent it to Kai through email and erased everything on the computer afterwards. I just hope that it sped up their trip around the states a bit so they don't stress themselves out too much.

I packed everything up and shut off the computer and headed back to class just in time for Mr. Oliver's to remind us about the Winter exams next week and assigning a few sheets of homework that I'm sure I'd be able to turn in before the end of the day.

I sat in my usual seat in the school's cafeteria and took out my packed lunch that the chef had prepared for me at home. I'm grateful that he had prepared lunch for me because then I can just stay in school the whole day without worrying about coming back to classes on time. It was also my favorite lunch too, which was a total bonus.

I pulled out the homework I was assigned this morning and started working on it, hoping that I could get all of it finished before lunch ended.

Fortunately, the questions were actually easy since I pay attention in class a lot, perks of not having friends: you get your shit done.

While finishing the last question of the homework my phone started ringing from my bag. I closed my notebook and fished for it in the front pocket and saw Blake's name pop up on my phone. I packed my stuff and hurried to the hallway so I could answer.

"Hello?" I answered a little out of breath.

"Diamonds you are a literal fucking Angel," he exclaimed laughing.

"What did I do?" I asked puzzled.

"The tracker you sent to Kai! We got him and Liam and Kai are beating the shit out of him!" He said in between his boyish laughter.

I face palmed at my lack of memory, I totally forgot about what I did for them.

"Oh, forgot about that." I admitted looking around the empty hallways.

"It was amazing! How did you do it?" I heard someone struggling in the background and then a loud slam.

"Well-"

"Wait, hold on let me put you on speaker," he cut me off as I heard a door slam nearby. I then heard a muffled 'Who is that?' and then a 'Diamonds' in the background before Liam shouted in the phone.

"DIAMONDS YOU'RE A LITERAL FUCKING ANGEL!" He shouted so loud I had to put the phone away from my ear.

"I already said that dude," Blake deadpanned on the other line.

"Sorry, but it's true," Liam said boredly.

"Diamonds, tell us how you did it!" Blake exclaimed eagerly.

"A magician never reveals their secrets," I teased. I heard three loud groans into the phone along with an engine.

"C'mon princess, tell us, what did you do that we didn't figure out?" Kai whined.

"Well, when you told me he wore a Fitbit I hacked into Fitbit's data servers and searched for the name Jack Thompson. Once I got it I turned on his location and so I used that as a tracker for his current location, duh," I explained as if it was obvious.

I heard three slaps on the other line and loud 'Ohs' at the realization.

"Dude, we're so fucking stupid how did I not think of that!" Blake exclaimed.

"Ugh Diamonds you're so smart, I feel like my brain is made out of shit now," Liam said which made me giggle.

"Well what are you guys going to do now?" I asked as I shuffled my feet.

"On our way home now, should be back there by tomorrow morning, you okay with one more night by yourself?" Kai asked worriedly.

"Yep, see you guys then," I said cheerfully. I heard all three guys say their goodbyes just as the bell rang. I hung up and took my time walking to my locker to get my books since it wasn't that far away.

I felt good that I did something for these guys, especially something that also helped their business. I felt a little like a hero in a way and my heart fluttered with joy at how easy I just made their job. It's always fun doing nice things for people because the thanks you get is always worth it, they're worth it.

But also, what gang member where's a fucking FitBit?
