Chapter 13: XIII - "Arena"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 12671

The sand underneath your body and the waves syncing with your heartbeat with every crash onto the shore. The sun setting off into the horizon while you just absorb the last of the glow, the soft breeze that hits your skin and makes a couple of strands of your hair fall into your vision. The sea in front of you just goes on, and on, and on - holding more underneath the surface than you could tell. Creatures of different kinds, treasures with so much worth, and the sound of silence that puts your body at ease. All that you could imagine that is peaceful, relaxing, and breath taking.

Sadly, that's not where I'm at right now.

I have been training non stop for the past few hours, only leaving me three hours to rest my muscles until the fight. Kai and the others had to run to a couple of meetings and assured me that they'd be back before I knew it, so I have been occupied with the punching bag and the rest of the gym since.

Though, since I still do have a couple of hours to go, I might as well go ahead and call George while I take a shower.

I stripped myself of my damp attire and stepped under the water. I dialed George's number and started to wash my body.

G: Hello?

D: Hey! How's everything going dude?

G: Diamonds you are literally unbelievable this apartment is amazing!

D: Well don't you just love my crazy ideas?

G: I'm in love with them, thank you so much.

D: Of course honey, did you finish grocery shopping?

G:Just got back a few minutes ago and got enough food to last me years!

D: Ahah, and that's all that matters George

G: You're literally the best Diamonds I can't thank you enough

"Diamonds?" A deep voice bellowed from what I assume is the doorway.

D: No need George, just remember what I said, got to go! Love you byee!

G: Bye!

"Diamonds?" The voice asked getting closer. I grabbed my towel from the hook and wrapped it around my body- I poked my head out of the shower to see Kai leaning against my counter.

"Dude! What are you doing here? Wait - nevermind that, get out!" I yelled at him.

He chuckled, he fucking chuckled, "Don't be so over dramatic princess, just wanted to see how you were doing after today's training. We just came back from the meeting and-"

"You know I would love to know how your meeting went but could you just wait in my room please until I'm done?" I asked sarcastically. He raised his hands up by his head in a surrending position before closing the bathroom door behind him.

I quickly finished my shower and dried my self off before realizing I didn't bring any clothes in with me. I grunted at my stupidity and wrapped a towel around my body as I stepped out of the bathroom and walked over to my closet.

Kai was still sitting on my bed as he continued to speak, "So anyways, we had just gotten back from a meeting and we brought some food for you if you want any."

At the mention of food I absentmindedly ran out of my closet and stared at Kai wide eyed, "Did you just say food?" I asked hopefully.

He looked up from his phone but did a double take on my body - I looked down and realized I was half naked and kind of froze in my spot. After a few seconds he cleared his throat and spoke up, "P-princess..." Did he just? No he did not! The big bad gang leader just fucking stuttered! Oh hell, it's really once in a blue moon huh?

He stood up from the bed and started walking towards me, while my feet were still glued to the ground. He stopped a few inches in front of me and looked deep into my eyes before trailing his fingers against my tattoo. His touch dragged all the way down to my hands and he lifted it up to kiss the back of my hand, still maintaining eye contact.

Fuzzies filled my stomach and my skin felt like it was on fire. What was this man doing to me? He's so compelling and captivating I just can't believe it. His touch is like a feather and his lips are like magic against my own. I just wanted him to take me right there and then as his ocean eyes had absorbed every inch of my bare body, his fingers outlining the lace of my grey lingerie. His hooded eyes met back with mine as his fingers started outlining my panties so slowly, so soft, so teasingly. I bit my lip and steadied my breathing before the words fell out of my mouth, "I need to change," I whispered.

His other hand cupped my jaw as he looked down at my lips, "Let me help you," and before I could protest his lips came crashing down onto my own. The adrenaline running through my body like I was running another five miles - his hands explored my body as I did with him. He lifted me effortlessly before gently pushing me up against a wall and deepening the kiss like his life depended on it. His hands gripping onto my thighs as his chest was firmly pressed against my own while my hands tugged at the ends of his hair, letting a low groan escape his lips. I tightened my legs around his torso which pulled him into my core, his bulge rubbing against my thigh as I pulled him impossibly closer to me.

Thankfully, before it could get any deeper, a knock was heard from my door, "Diamonds, your food might get cold." I recognized the voice as Liam's and I quickly pulled away. I stared into Kai's eyes as a smile tugged on my tips and a smirk tugged at his swollen ones. Without looking away I responded, "I'll be down in a minute."

Kai groaned in annoyance as we heard the footsteps retreat back into the hallway. "Kai you have to put me down at some point," I reminded him.

"Yeah, at some point, but not now," he replied seriously.

"C'mon Finnel put me down," I giggled as I squirmed around in his hold.

"You might not want to do that princess," he warned seriously.

"What do you me-" before I could finish I felt his bulge rub up against my entrance - I let out a small whimper at the contact that only made him smirk even more.

"Ugh you're so mean," I pouted as he finally set me down. I stepped back into my closet and found a pair of black joggers and a cropped red tube top. I slipped both on and tied my red vans on while I let my hair air dry. I turned back around to see Kai standing in the doorway of my closet, watching me put my clothes on.

He held up his hand and pointed to me as if he was holding a TV remote, "Now, reverse," he said. I rolled my eyes at him and walked over to my bathroom again. I tied the string of my joggers so it didn't hang off of my waist and brushed my hair and let it form into it's natural waves.

I turned my bathroom light off and walked over to Kai who was looking at my photo wall. He pointed at an old photo and asked, "Who's this?"

I looked over to who he was pointing at and my face fell of heartbreak. It was a photo when we were kids, we were playing Monopoly and he used to win every single fucking time. I was sad about it but now all I could think about was anger. I don't even remember putting this photo up, I thought I threw it away - how did it get on there?

Ignoring my thoughts I snatched the photo off of the wall, took my lighter, and hung it outside of the window where I burned the photo until the wind picked up the ashes. I threw the lighter in the trash and grabbed my phone, "Let's go."

I needed to push those negative thoughts aside, I couldn't take my anger out on anybody because that'd just make me look like a bitch. I needed to act like everything was fine so no one worried about me.

I pulled Kai downstairs with me but before we stepped into the kitchen I gave him a once over. I looked him up and down and shook my head embarrassingly, "What princess? Like the view?" He is so cocky sometimes what the hell.

"No, actually, the view is quite messy," I retorted and sat him down onto a chair so I could fix him up without a problem of height difference. His hair was messy from me running my fingers through it and his clothes looked raffled up since he was carrying me. I styled his hair into it's original position and straightened his clothes out. I even straightened his belt buckle and his leather jacket until he looked like a model once again.

After examining my work I nodded my head and strolled into the kitchen- my eyes immediately caught sight of the food and I dived into it in a flash since I didn't eat anything for lunch. The boys finished their foods before I did and I rushed upstairs to get changed for the fight once again.

I slipped on my leggings, tugged on my sports bra, and slid into my black Nike shoes. I grabbed my mask from my drawer and started putting my hair into a ponytail. I had my keys swinging in hand when I met with the guys once again in the foyer, "You ready step sissy?" Liam asked excitedly.

"Yep, let me go get Robin and we can go-"

"Oh no precious, you're driving with us, " Blake blocked my path towards the garage.

"Okay... so who am I riding with?" I asked confusedly.

"Me," Kai walked into the foyer with his keys swinging on his index finger.

I nodded my head and started walking outside towards Kai's Pista, once he unlocked the door I reached over to open it but he beat me to it and opened it for me instead, "Such a gentleman," I said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes.

"Once in a blue moon," he mumbled before he rounded the car into the driver's seat. The car ride was silent but it was a comforting silence. The type of silence that let you think everything through without it feeling so awkward - the one where it's calming to see the houses pass by the window, except I couldn't actually identify them as houses, they all looked like a bunch of swirls to me.

"What's on your mind princess?" I turned to Kai as he was glancing between the road and me, pulling me out of my daze.

"Nothing," I replied calmly. To be honest I didn't know if i was calm, I actually felt quite nervous since this is my first time fighting for somebody other than Williams. I've always been stuck with him since he brought me into this mess. I wasn't going to win money or a prize but I'd be winning respect from the Deck of Cards and possibly the Royal Aces. But now that I actually think of it, if I win against the Royal Aces, will they try and negotiate with me? Threaten me to join their gang? Use others against me until I am one of them?

My mind quickly cleared up when I felt a warm hand on my thigh, I looked up at Kai to see his eyebrows scrunched up and clench his jaw as he stared at the road ahead of us. It was a dirt road, which means we were probably close, my mind immediately started swarming with the different possibilities again and I started to slightly panic. My heart beat started to increase but I felt it slow down once again as I felt a comforting squeeze on my thigh.

I looked back up to Kai once again and started to focus on his features instead of the negative thoughts; chiselled jawline you could literally

cut a watermelon with it, his eyes a deep ocean blue that's just waiting to be explored, his light brown styled hair that's always to the side, his adams apple that was fully visible to anyone in a one mile radius, his hands that have probably touched more weapons than I can even count, and his soft lips that all wish to touch. He was truly gorgeous, and he knew that which I couldn't blame. You might say he's being cocky but he's just stating facts, and I don't blame him.

His hand started to absentmindedly draw smoothing circles on my thigh as the building came into view. Approaching it, it looked like more of an arena and I leaned in to get a better look. But a hand stopped my stomach from inching any closer, "Don't worry princess, you'll get in there soon," Kai said jokingly.

We all stepped out of the car and headed towards a door which two guards stood beside. I strapped my mask on before I could get any closer and walked with confidence to the doors.

"Is this your fighter?" The first man asked.

"Yes, is he inside?" Kai asked in a serious tone.

Both guards scoffed and opened the doors for him, "Yep, follow me," the second man said as he led us down a hallway. I walked with the guys surrounding me until we stepped into a room filled with three other men, "Kai Finnel," I couldn't see the other man but I made out his Russian accent.

"Ogus Pelina," Kai greeted as he shook his hand. The other men greeted Liam and Blake as well before turning to me, "This is your fighter?" Ogus asked looking me up and down disgustedly but I just tilted my chin up and nodded at him. He had black hair that was starting to grow grey with dark brown eyes, the one on his right had light brown hair with green eyes, and on his left was a man with black hair and dark eyes.

He scoffed before looking back at Kai confusedly who just replied with a nod. Ogus then walked back to his cushiony white seat and grabbed his champagne glass, "Then let us begin," he said sipping.
