Chapter 22: Chapter 22

His Christmas AngelWords: 9313

NASH

Arthur had been able to talk the record company out of suing her. All Angel had had to do was pay back the advance and sign a contract saying she wouldn’t sign with another company for two years.

Fortunately, she hadn’t spent any of the money, which Angel and Nash realized when Arthur shipped all her things to the ranch. It hadn’t amounted to anything more than a few clothes and some photos.

And with the baby on the way, she didn’t have any plans to pursue a singing career for the time being, so it all worked out; Arthur had simply wished her luck.

Three weeks after New Year’s, Nash prepared to leave for the courthouse in his suit.

He was blown away when Angel came downstairs wearing a short white dress, her hair down, just the way he liked it.

Moe was sitting on his hind legs and wagging his tail.

“Damn, you look so hot,” Nash said. He placed his hands around her waist. “I can’t wait to take it off you tonight.”

He looked down at his feet. “I’m really sorry I can’t afford to take you anywhere nice for a honeymoon.”

She smiled. “Hey, I don’t care about any of that. I’m just happy to be marrying you and having our baby. It’s all I need. Just keep this body of yours in shape, and I’ll be the happiest woman alive.”

He pretended to look offended. “Are you marrying me just for my body?”

“No, but it doesn’t hurt.” She pulled him closer and gave him a long kiss, slipping him the tongue.

He grunted as he felt himself getting hard and pulled away before things went too far.

“Do you want to marry me?”

Nash ran his fingers up and down her arms. “You know I do.”

“Then you’d better get us to the courthouse now, or we’ll miss our appointment and we’ll have to wait for another slot.”

She laughed when he grabbed her hand and started dragging her out to the truck.

ANGEL

The ceremony was simple and short but utterly romantic, and everyone joined them in the church hall afterward for the lunch reception.

As they had their first dance as husband and wife, Angel lifted his hand with hers to gaze at their matching wedding bands.

“Now every woman will know you are taken.”

“I didn’t need a band for them to know, I would tell them I belong to the most beautiful woman in the world. I love you, Mrs. Harris.”

“I love the way that sounds,” she said, resting her head on his shoulder.

After the lunch, the guests dispersed, and Nash drove Angel back to the ranch, carrying her over the threshold before he put her down at the base of the staircase.

“I want you to wait down here until I come and get you,” he said, and rushed off, leaving her wondering what he was up to.

Ten minutes later, he came back and, without a word, scooped her up into his arms and carried her upstairs, telling Moe to stay.

When he brought her into the bedroom, Angel saw that the lights were dimmed, scented candles had been lit, red roses lay on the bedside table, and romantic music played on the stereo.

“Nash, this is so wonderful. You are so sweet to do this for me.”

He laid her gently on the bed.

“I’m going to dominate your body. I’m going to explore every inch of you. And you are going to lie there and not lift a finger. By the time I’m done, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven.”

For hours, he made love to her, treating her body with tenderness and just the right amount of roughness.

He licked and sucked and caressed her before he entered her, giving her orgasm after orgasm, until, at last, he gave himself the release he so desperately needed.

As they lay in each other’s arms, wearing their ecstasy on their faces, they dreamed of their future together.

Nash caressed her bare hip with his fingertips. “How many children would you like to have?”

“I’ve never really given it much thought. I’d like to see how it goes with this first one before I decide though. How many would you like?”

“Maybe six…or eight.”

She sat up straight, her eyes wide. “Six or eight? Do you know what that will do to my body?”

“I’ve always wanted a big family.”

Angel smiled to herself. “Okay, sure, sure, I could go for six. Of course, with all those kids running around, it won’t leave time for anything else. It’ll definitely cut down our sex life.”

He leaned up on his arm and looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed. “Say what?”

“Oh, yeah. Sweetheart, with all those children, I’ll be too tired for sex. Plus, we’ll not have a moment to ourselves. If one’s not sick, another one will be.”

He lay back down, his hands behind his head. “On second thought, maybe you’re right. I guess I would be happy with three or four.”

She shifted her body and laid her head on his chest, a smile plastered on her face.

~NINE MONTHS LATER~

After Angel found out she’d be having twins, she was initially excited.

But in her ninth month of pregnancy, the babies were growing so big and making her life a living hell with all the kicking they were doing.

“Twins usually come early, right?” she would say most days at her most uncomfortable moments. “Please, God, let them come early.”

Sure enough, three weeks before her due date, she woke Nash up from a deep sleep.

Lately, she had been so horny and would wake him up in the middle of the night for some love. But when he tried to kiss her neck in his half-asleep state, Angel responded by smacking him away.

“Get off me, you fool, this is what got me into this situation in the first place. My back is killing me, and…and the contractions have started.”

“What?” Nash sat up, trying to hide his hard dick, and wiped the sleep from his eyes.

“It’s time. You have to get me to the hospital now!” Angel tried to get out of bed but had to wait for him to help her.

After throwing on a pair of jeans and a shirt, Nash helped her up and into some clothes, then supported her as he walked her to the truck.

Despite getting her to the hospital in double-quick time, the doctors took her in right away, saying she was about to deliver any minute.

Nash didn’t even have time to call his parents or the Griffins.

He stayed by Angel’s side the whole time, gritting his teeth when she squeezed his hand as hard as she could.

Despite swearing like a truck driver, Angel delivered two healthy babies in just over two hours. The moment their son was brought into the world, Angel looked at Nash to see he was crying.

The boy weighed six pounds and eight ounces; the girl, who was much smaller, five pounds and two ounces.

“You did real good, sweetheart,” Nash said while holding his daughter and leaning down to kiss his wife on the forehead.

Angel cuddled their son and smiled back up at her husband. Her heart was so full of love that she worried it might burst.

When the nurses came back in to take the babies away to clean and check them, Nash gave Angel another kiss.

“I’ll make some calls and let everyone know about the babies. I’ll be back with you soon. I love you so much. I’m going to give you and our children the best life possible.”

Angel yawned and closed her eyes. “I love you too.”

She couldn’t remember sleeping, but when she opened her eyes again, the babies were back, lying together in the cot, with their daddy standing over them and watching with adoration.

“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” she whispered.

He stroked her hair. “Yes, just like their mother. I can’t believe we created those two little human beings. I am so proud of you. Thank you. They’re the greatest gift ever.”

He glanced over at his children with a frown on his face. “But they are so little, I’m afraid to pick them up in case I drop them.”

Angel chuckled. “You are the most amazing man I have ever known and can do anything, even holding those two little angels. You are going to be a great dad. But can you try feeding and changing them?”

“Wait, I can’t feed them, I don’t have the right…equipment.” He motioned toward his chest. “What aren’t you telling me?”

“The doctor said I’m not producing milk yet, so we have to use a bottle for the time being.” Tears build in her eyes. “I already feel like a failure as a mother.”

He took her hand and moved her head back gently to look at him. “You are not a failure. You are going to be a fantastic mother.

“Look at it this way—at least I’ll be able to help you with the midnight feedings.”

She couldn’t help but smile. “I don’t expect you to get up through the night. You work so hard all day long on the ranch.”

“I’m hiring someone part-time to help me so I’ll be able to help you.”

“Knock, knock.”

Angel turned to see Wade, Mildred, Sherry, and Gordon in the doorway.

“We’re not disturbing you, are we?”

Angel shook her head. “I’ve only just woken up. I had no idea it was even visiting hours.”

The four swooned over the babies for a few minutes, and when they asked to hold them, Angel nodded, while Nash looked on nervously.

“So, what are their names,” Sherry asked as she picked up the baby girl.

Annie smiled at her. “We named our son Matt. And the girl, if it’s okay with you, we’d like to name her Holly, after your daughter.”

She shed a tear before giving the little girl a soft kiss. “I would be honored, thank you.”
