Geta's POV-
I sent her a note. I don't know what inspired me to do it but i did. I just can't face talking to her at the moment as it's clear she despises me. The worst part is that I don't even blame her. I hear what people say about us. The tyrant mad twin emperors. What they don't realise though is that it's all we have known. Our father raised us to be like that and I don't have plans to change any time soon. What's wrong with liking a bit of death and destruction?
After getting changed I take a stroll downstairs and through the corridor running my hands down the wall and admiring the paintings as I go. Emperor after Emperor until I reach one in particular- Commodus. I stand and admire him but the more I look at him something just doesn't feel right. A hand on my shoulder snaps me back into the world.
C- "What are you doing Brother? We are going to be late.. Where is your crown?" He looks at me confused
G- "I'm coming now.. I was just passing the time" a maid brings me my laurel wreath and gently places it on top of my auburn hair.
It was the first day of the games.
?- "Please welcome your emperors- Geta and Caracalla!"
We enter the podium to the sound of cheering and clapping. Me and Caracalla walk over to the ledge and cross arms waving to all the people. It is the most incredible feeling.
?- "These sacred games are held to honour the victory of Rome over the Barbarians of Numidia"
Acasius and his wife Lucilla enter in next followed by Macrinus and the Senators
?- "And to honour Romes commander- General Acasius and with him Lucilla the daughter of Macrus Aureluis"
G- "Acasius!" I say before he can sit down
C- "General! Come join us"
He does as he is told and we signal to the crowd to cheer louder in which they chant his name. I lean in and whisper to him with a smile
G- "Speak to them.."
He hesitates but nods and does as he is told
I take my seat on the Bisellium and glance at Caracalla, silently laughing. He looks just as amused as me
A- "I am not a politician, I am a soldier. I have seen bravery in men and women during war and even once in this arena. So if you ask anything of the gods ask for that same bravery because Rome needs it now"
He nods in our direction and goes to take his seat passing us in the process. What was that all about??
?- "From the Southgate! Fighters from the stable of Macrinus"
The gate opens and I feel my hand clench the arm of my seat. In enter the gladiators led by the two from the party yesterday- the poet and Y/N. They have their arms linked and are looking up at the people surrounding them. Why are they always so close? He must be her husband or something..
?- "And from the stable of Emperor Geta and Caracalla- The destroyer!"
Another gate raises and in comes a large beastly rhino in which the warrior is riding on top of. Even with their numbers the chance of survival is low..
I can hear the excitement in the crowd growing every second so why isn't mine the same??
