Yvette asked calmly, “Do you think you’re all that? Did you actually achieve everything you have so far on your own? If it weren’t for my family, would you still be alive? If it weren’t for Xavier, would you have become a famous actress?”

Yvette leaned close to Daphne’s ear, lowering her voice to a whisper, and mocked, “Did you think I was unaware of all the shady things you did abroad after graduation? Say, if Xavier and his family found

out, would they still accept you

Yvette had made extensive preparations before she returned. To get what she wanted, she even looked into Daphne. Then, she realized that Daphe, the supposedly pure goddess, had a very eventful few years abroad.

Daphne’s pupils dilated. She thought she had covered her tracks, but she was sorely mistaken. “So, you didn’t actually lose your memory. Believe it or not, I’m going to tell Xavier!”

Yvette wasn’t afraid at all. “Oh, is that so? I dare you to. Then, you’d be able to find your videos at Xavier’s tomorrow.”

Daphne was tongue–tied. She couldn’t believe that Yvette had become so sharp–tongued after she returned.

“Yvette Snyder, what do I have to do for you to allow Xav and me to be together?” Daphne changed. tactics. “Besides Xavier, I’ve never done you wrong, have I? I’m begging you to set Xay free and move on!” Her eyes misted over.

“But when did you ever let me go?” Not wanting to look at her facade any longer, Yvette turned around and left.

After Yvette left, the tears in Daphne’s eyes dried up, and all she felt was fear. She was afraid that Yvette would tell Xavier about what she had done abroad. If Xavier found out, she’d be done for,

“No! This can’t be! You were the one who forced me into this corner, Yvette Snyder!” Daphne cursed

inwardly.

The next day, Yvette was woken up by Kiki’s phone call. “Yvvy, did you sell your song to Daphne?”

Puzzled, Yvette responded, “Nope. Carnival Central Media, the agency Daphne used to be under, approached me to buy the rights to my song before, but I turned them down.”

When she heard that, Kiki was instantly enraged. “Have you seen the news about Daphne’s new song release, Yvvy? That song–its melody is plagiarized from yours!”

After hearing that, Yvette booted up her computer and found Daphne’s newly released song, “A Sliver of Light“. Yesterday, she had already felt as if she had heard it from somewhere before, but she hadn’t paid much attention.

When she listened to it again that day, she finally remembered a song she had casually composed a few years ago.

“Yvvy, I still remember that your song was titled ‘A Beam of Light.” I can’t believe she didn’t even bother to change the name of the song much.” Kiki scoffed. She remembered it because she really liked the song.

“I remember it now! I uploaded it to a niche platform back then and forgot about it,” Yvette said.

“That bitch is unbelievable! So she plagiarized it because she couldn’t buy the rights to it?” Kiki cursed while searching for information on her computer. “Yvvy, did you know that some of the songs Daphne used to sing were bought, while others were stolen?”

“Yeah, I know.” Yvette was livid as well. “I never thought she’d plagiarize my work as well.”

To be honest, it wasn’t a coincidence. Daphne had always wanted the songs of the foreign composer, Cameron Wells, so she hired someone to find and adapt her older compositions.

“What’s hilarious is that her song is now a huge hit.” Kiki wanted to confront Daphne in person to see how shameless she was. “I’m going to have someone send her a legal notice right now!”

“Hold on,” Yvette stopped her. “We can’t just sue her like this.”
