His eyes widened in disbelief when he met Yvette’s clear and indignant gaze. She didn’t just look like Yvette Snyder; she was. Yvette Snyder!

Tristan had no idea why she was here for the blind date. Before he could come to his senses, Yvette told Ray, “Let’s go.” Ray then

escorted her out of the room.

The man who had been kicked to the ground, Ethan Zamora, was still cursing, “Don’t you dare run away! I won’t forget the two of you. Just you wait!”

The other young men mocked him.

“You’re such a coward, Mr. Zamora. Why didn’t you fight back?”

“Exactly, stop yapping!”

Ethan had wanted to take a swing at Ray as well, but he hadn’t even been able to stand up after Ray had kicked him earlier. He had been pampered all his life and had never been humiliated like this before.

Scrambling to his feet, he cursed under his breath, “I’ll round up my men and send them to those two doom right-”

Before he could finish his threat, Tristan walked up to him and looked at him coldly. “What did you do to her just now?”

“That bit-” Ethan started, but before he could finish, Tristan’s bodyguards started punching him in the face. Before long, he was knocked to the ground, spitting blood, and still clueless about what he’d done wrong.

The young men around them were all struck silent. Tristan looked down at Ethan condescendingly and asked Avery, “What did he do?”

Avery recounted how Ethan had tried to humiliate Yvette.

Meanwhile, Yvette was already seated in the car. She was a little annoyed, as she hadn’t expected Kiki’s blind date to be Tristan.

She was aware that Tristan despised her, and now that he’d seen her standing in for Kiki, she wondered what he’d do to her. Yvette was worried that she’d gotten Kiki involved in trouble.

“Are you okay, Mom? Zachary’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

Yvette smiled and said, “I’m okay, thanks to Mr. Septer.”
