“Oh, you silly girl. There’s no such miracle doctor.” Of course, Viola thought Yvette was just messing around.

She patted Yvette’s hand and said, “I don’t want to live that long anyway. People might start disliking me for being too old. Besides, I think I’ve lived long enough.”

Yvette’s eyes teared up, and she tried her best not to let the tears fall. “Nonsense. You’ve yet to watch Zac and Noah grow up. You’ll also have to wait for them to get married and have children. Then, you’ll be a great–grandma.”

When Viola thought about what Yvette said, her eyes lit up. Of course, she wanted all of that as well.

But she also knew that her body wouldn’t be able to hold on any longer. Having lived for decades, Viola was satisfied enough to have someone who was like a daughter to her.

At that moment, she was just worried about Yvette. A few days ago, Viola had realized that Xavier had recovered some of his memories and that he wasn’t in any debt at all. She could also tell how much he wanted to stay by Yvette’s side.

Although she spent most of her time in her room, she knew Xavier had helped Yvette hire Gideon. Viola had noticed all the little things he’d done and knew that he truly had changed.

“Alright. I’ll continue living and wait for them to get married.”

Yvette nodded and said, “In that case, I’ll get Dr. Upton to visit in two days to examine you.”

“Alright.”

Now that Viola had agreed, Yvette could finally relax. After tucking Viola in bed, she went out and contacted Gideon.

When she was gone, someone else knocked on the door to Viola’s room. Viola opened her eyes and said, “Come in.”

Xavier walked in. “Thank you.”

It was rare for him to thank someone so sincerely. However, Viola still wasn’t nice to him. “Don’t thank me first. I’m not doing this to help you.”

She could tell that Yvette still liked Xavier, and seeing how he’d changed, she decided to do something

about it.

“Yeah, I know. I promise I’ll treat Yvvy well.”

Viola looked at him, unsure about whether to believe him or not. “I’m going to keep an eye on you while I’m still alive. I just hope that you’ll be kind to her when I’m gone. After all, Yvvy doesn’t owe you anything.”

Xavier knew that nothing he said would matter. So, he’d long decided to prove himself with his actions. However, he also needed to remove some obstacles in his path so he could treat Yvetté well.

The next morning, Yvette was prepared to go shopping for gifts with Xavier.

Since Zachary was staying with Kiki at that moment, she didn’t need to worry about preparing food for him. She just wondered if Michael would be furious when he learned that Kiki was looking after Zachary.

“What types of gifts do you guys normally give?” Yvette asked.

When Xavier had to give someone else gifts, he would (et Mark or his secretary prepare them. So, there’d never been any reason for him to worry about it at all.

“One moment. I’ll ask around.” He walked to the side and called Mark.

Yvette was standing near him, and she heard him asking Mark about what gifts they should buy. She couldn’t help feeling embarrassed. Although Xavier seemed to have lost his memories and wasn’t a CEO anymore, he was still acting like a boss.

Mark sent him the list of gifts in no time; all they had to do was buy everything on the list.

“There’s so many things. If I’d known how much we’d be buying today, I would’ve asked Ray to join us so that he could carry everything for us.”

When Xavier heard Ray’s name, he couldn’t help feeling jealous. Then, he immediately said, “I can carry them.”

Yvette was shocked to hear that he’d carry the shopping bags. After all, he used to be so noble that he wouldn’t even carry his phone on him, let alone carry bags.

“Well, if you’re willing to do it, sure.”

Yvette took a look at the list of suggestions for gifts. As Jeremiah’s sister–in–law, not only did she have to buy gifts for him, but she also had to buy something for his fiancée as well.

Everything on the list cost at least millions of dollars. But they had the option to have the gifts sent straight to their house.

As the two went.shopping, the sight of Xavier–a blind man following Yvette around–attracted a lot of attention.
