Chapter 354
As Tristan watched the three of them leave, his brows furrowed slightly. âNot even a thank you,â he muttered before getting back into the car.
Inside the luxurious limousine sat an elderly man with a full head of white hair.
Exasperated, Archibald said, âYou useless brat. They didnât get in the car, and youâre not even trying to go after them? Donât you know what persistence is?â
He was deeply concerned about Tristanâs marital status. When heâd overheard Tristan casually mention Zacharyâs note about finding someone to pretend to be his father, heâd insisted that Tristan attend the wedding.
Heâd threatened that Tristan wouldnât live to see the next day if he didnât. Hence, Tristan had come to the rescue.
âAm I the type to be persistent?â Tristan retorted.
Archibald raised his cane, ready to strike. âIâm telling you, Kiki is the only woman Iâll recognize as my granddaughterâinâlaw. You must marry her, by any means necessary.â
After heâd met Kiki, heâd had someone look into her. Heâd found that she had a clean background and hadnât been disheartened even after sheâd lost her lawyerâs license. Instead, she diligently worked at a regular job. Most importantly, he believed she could keep Tristan in check.
Even though Tristan didnât understand why Archibald was so taken with Kiki, he could only nod in agreement.
Meanwhile, Mark noticed that the matter had been resolved. So, he went to report back to Xavier.
At the house, Yvette and the others were still puzzled about Tristanâs appearance at the wedding.
Kiki suddenly recalled how Zachary had said heâd find her a man better than Leonard. She turned to him and asked. âZac, was Tristan the man you contacted?â

Zachary hurriedly shook his head. âOf course not.â
âThen where is the man you found?â Kiki asked.
Zachary stammered, unable to answer.
Yvette grew increasingly curious as she listened to their conversation.
âMan? What are you talking about?â she asked.
Both Kiki and Zachary were too afraid to answer Yvetteâs question. However, under Yvetteâs stern gaze, they quickly confessed everything.
Upon hearing their explanation, Yvette finally realized that Zachary had gone to Sternhow Club, a place frequented by playboys, where Tristan often hung out.
âTristan probably saw Zac when he went to Sternhow Club. Thatâs how he got in the way,â she said.
Then, she became serious. âZac, Kiki, how could you two do something like this behind my back? What if youâd encountered a scammer?â
Kiki and Zachary could only listen silently; they didnât dare to make a sound. After all, Yvette could be quite intimidating when she was angry.
Kiki was deeply moved when she recalled how Yvette had stood up for her and fiercely confronted Olivia earlier. She hugged the latter around the waist. âYvvy, what would I do without you?â
Yvette had wanted to scold them more, but with Kiki hugging her like that, she couldnât bring herself to continue. âYou dummy.â
Friends were meant to help each other. She believed that if she were in trouble, Kiki would stand up for her the same way.
Seeing this, Zachary quickly lifted his head, imitating what heâd learned just a second ago. âMom, I canât do without you either. Iâll listen to you from now on.â
Yvetteâs heart softened even more. She couldnât bear to scold them anymore. Seeing this, Zachary silently resolved to learn more about acting cute from Noah in the future.
That night, Yvette and Zachary stayed at Kikiâs place.

Meanwhile, at Lane Mansion, Shannon had learned about the commotion at the wedding when sheâd sent someone to congratulate Leonard.
âAre you saying Kiki took Zac there and claimed he was Tristanâs son?â

Shannon distinctly remembered Tristan telling her that misunderstanding and that heâd mistaken Zachary for his son. Hence, sheâd assumed that Zachary was Leonard and Kikiâs son.
But it didnât make sense. If Zachary were Tristanâs or Leonardâs son, why was his surname Snyder?
Mandy added, âMs. Snyder was also there. She even slapped Mrs. Cook.â
