Chapter 348
Xavier and Yvette were sitting quite close to each other. While listening to her, he could smell her nice body scent. He gulped.
Recently, he had started to have dreams about their past, including their intimate
moments.
âDo you still not believe me?â he asked. His voice was hoarse.
Yvette looked at him. Figuring that he wouldnât lie, she shook her head. âNo, Iâm just thinking that youâre amazing. Although you canât see, you can play the piano. You even helped me amend my piece.â
The helplessness in her voice gave him a clue as to why she had sounded so sad when he had come in. Her spirit seemed to wither.
âBecause I have to excel,â he said softly.
She was stunned.
He continued, âIâve been dreaming about my childhood lately. I took all kinds of classes. I was groomed to be the heir of the family. I had no choice but to grow up.â
He paused momentarily before continuing, âEven today, itâs the same. If Iâm not good enough, how can I look after you and your baby?â
Yvette didnât know how to respond to that.
Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around her. âYvvy, can we start all over again? I love you very much.â
This was the first time she had heard those three words from him.
If he hadnât lost his memories, he wouldnât have confessed.
Since he had been a child, he had always received love from others. He hadnât cared about loving others. Even if he liked someone, he would hide his feelings.
Yvette was so shocked that she didnât push him away. Xavier tightened his arms and dipped his head, wanting to kiss her.
âMom, Misterâ¦â a voice interrupted them.
Yvette came back to her senses and shoved Xavier away. She headed outside the room. âZac, youâre back.â.

Zachary came upstairs with his backpack. He saw Yvette and Xavier coming out of the room one after another and thought something was amiss, but he couldnât pinpoint what it was. âYeah.â
Then, the three of them went downstairs.
Yvette beckoned Viola and Hannah over.
Zachary was walking next to Xavier. He whispered. âTell me, what did you guys do in the music room?â
Xavier arched a brow. âAre you urious?â
âSpill the beans! Did you bully her?â
Noticing that Zachary was agitated, Xavier left him hanging on purpose. âIs that the right attitude when asking questions?â
Zachary huffed. âXavier Lane, you better not bully my mom. Otherwise, donât blame me for what happens to you.â
The way Zachary addressed Xavier by his full name made his expression turn frosty. With a sweep of an arm, he lifted Zachary..
Losing his sense of gravity, Zachary began struggling. âPut me down! You big bully!â
Xavier was going to teach him a lesson, but when he heard Viola coughing, he released him.
Zachary then realized that even this bastard had someone he was afraid of.
Viola was like a mother to Yvette, which made her Xavierâs motherâinâlaw. It seemed that every sonâinâlaw was the sonâthey were afraid of their motherâinâlaw. Xavier was no exception.
Zachary had an idea. He scurried to Violaâs side, zipping his bag open. âGrandma, how are you feeling lately? I miss you every time Iâm at school.â
The mere sight of the little boy brightened her day. âIâm good, and I miss you too.â
He asked, âDidnât you say you missed sweet and sour carp from your hometown while you were overseas? Mister told me that he would catch those carp for you from the river tonight.â
Viola was slightly surprised to learn that Xavier and Zachary had actually been

talking about this. She had thought that Xavier had been picking on Zachary.
âBut the river is frozen, though,* Viola pointed out.
Zachary replied witfully, âItâs alright. Mister said that he could drill a hole for fishing.â
On the side, Xavier was rendered speechless by Zacharyâs nonsense.
