Titan Corporation’s stocks fell greatly, and the shareholders started panicking in an instant. Although Clifford was old, he had no choice but to take charge given the situation.

Kiki was visiting Yvette when she saw the news on the TV. She lamented, “I would never have seen this coming. He was still doing great a few days ago. Now, he’s actually blind. Who’s going to take over his company?”

Yvette prepared some fruits and placed them in front of her. “Kiki, have you prepared the new lawsuit?”

Kiki looked like she was in a spot. “Yvvy, I’m sorry.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Your divorce lawsuit with Xavier got out of hand previously, and it made the news. So, my dad saw it.”

She sighed. “He found out that I had gotten a job. In order to make me compromise, he pulled some strings and got my law license revoked.”

When Yvette heard that, she couldn’t help feeling shocked. “How could he do that?”

“This is nothing. He wants to make me marry Tristan. In fact, he would even pack me up in a parcel and send me to the Shaw family.”

The Torres family hadn’t always been wealthy. Michael had been poor when he had been younger. So, he was afraid of losing his wealth now and going back to his old lifestyle.

That was why he wanted nothing more than to make Kiki marry a truly wealthy family. That way, she wouldn’t have to worry about money, and it could even help his own family live a stable life.

“So, what are you planning to do now?” Yvette asked.

“I’ve found a job as a clerk, and I can get 3,000 to 4,000 dollars a month. It should be enough for me to get by.” Kiki didn’t want to admit defeat.

“Let me know if you need me,” Yvette said.

Kiki nodded. “Sure. I’ll introduce you to another lawyer later-”

Before she could finish speaking, Yvette’s phone started ringing. When Yvette took a look, she noticed it was Shannon calling.

“Xav wanted me to tell you not to file for a lawsuit. He’s willing to get a divorce. Go to the courthouse tomorrow at 10:00 am.”

After saying that, Shannon ended the call. She had thought about it. Xavier was still alive, and he was still capable in bed.

After the divorce, she could just spend some money to get someone to marry him. There would be countless women who would be willing to do that and give birth to a grandchild for her.

“His personality did change in some ways.” Yvette thought about how he had grabbed her hand at the hospital. He had looked miserable when he had spoken back then. She immediately stopped thinking

about it.

Yvette woke up early the next day. After having some breakfast and putting on multiple layers of clothes and a coat, she left the house.

Ray drove her to the courthouse. Since they had reached half an hour earlier than expected, she thought Xavier wouldn’t have arrived yet. She got out of the vehicle and headed inside the courthouse to wait for

him.

However, she saw him by the counter when she entered the building.

He was wearing sunglasses. He had a high, prominent nose bridge and was pursing his lips. He quietly sat there in his dark–colored coat. Compared to the people around him, he stood out a lot.

Yvette looked at him for a long time. Just as she was about to approach him, she saw Mark bringing him a glass of water.

“Have some water, Mr. Lane.” Mark was worried that Xavier would be thirsty after waiting for Yvette for an

hour.

However, Xavier didn’t accept the drink. Instead, he asked, “What time is it?”

When Mark was going to look at his watch, his gaze suddenly fell on Yvette. He pretended not to see her and said, “It’s 9:33 am.”
