Yvette forced herself to calm down and looked at the photo evidence from afar. She couldn’t see what was on them clearly.

Leonard brought some of the photos to her. They were showing how she seduced Xavier in the past when she was trying to get pregnant.

Yvette was shocked, and she clenched her fists. She had never expected what she had done would affect her like this. Furthermore, she couldn’t believe that Xavier would have photos of those moments.

Kiki shot her an assuring glance. Those photos only proved that there was love between Xavier and

Yvette.

However, there was one more criterion to have a successful divorce, and that was domestic violence. Xavier’s cold violence fitted the category.

However, Leonard denied any proof of such violence immediately. “Your honor, Ms. Torres mentioned how my client had performed cold violence on Ms. Snyder. I would like to ask everyone this–how is cold violence defined? Is there any scientific definition?”

As he spoke, he coldly looked at Kiki. It was as if he was looking at a stranger. When she met his gaze, she instinctively avoided it.

Leonard stepped forward, “Ms. Torres, may I know if you’ve received the hospital’s examination results?”

Since he was too close to her, her breath started to become rapid. She said while trembling, “Isn’t having major depression disorder enough proof?”

Leonard looked away and continued, “Based on my understanding, there are five reasons a person could get depression. First, they could inherit from their families. Then, there could be an underlying health complication. She could be on medication or be alcohol intoxicated as well.

“The fourth reason would be her personality. Last but not least, it could be caused by her social circle. Ms. Torres, how can you be so sure that your client is depressed because of my client?”

After saying that, he brought out more evidence.

“Here is more information I’ve managed to find. Ms. Snyder started drinking a lot two years after her marriage. Her mother, Yara Cadwell, was a famous dancer. She was previously diagnosed to have mild mental complications, and she was also hearing–impaired by birth.

“As you can see, the reason why Ms. Snyder has depression has nothing to do with my client at all. Instead, it had something to do with three of the reasons I’ve stated earlier.”

Kiki didn’t expect Leonard to be that shameless, and she was infuriated on the spot. “You’re twisting the truth!”

“If I’m twisting the truth, please show evidence and prove it, Ms. Torres.” He coldly looked at her again.

She couldn’t control herself any longer. “Leonard, you bastard! I can’t believe you’re willing to do anything for money-”

Chapter 278

Since Kiki suddenly became emotional, the judge decided to call for a break. If Yvette hadn’t stopped her, she would’ve pounced toward Leonard and torn him apart.

When they were on the break, Kiki kept apologizing in the lounge. “I’m sorry, Yvvy. It was all my fault. I didn’t expect Leonard to be the opposing lawyer, and I became a mess immediately.”

Leonard was deemed a great lawyer in Drieso. According to the rumors, he had only lost one lawsuit previously. When it came to divorce lawsuits like this, it was a piece of cake tforhim.

Yvette held Kiki in her arms and gently patted the latter’s shoulder. “It’s alright. It isn’t your fault. No matter the outcome, it’ll be alright.”

If they lost, they would just have to start from square one again. The more Yvette said that, the more guilty Kiki felt, and her eyes turned red.

“I’m going to head to the washroom, Yvvy. Wait for me here.”

“Alright.“”

When Kiki left, she didn’t go to the washroom at all. Instead, she went to the lounge, where Leonard and the rest were resting.
