Not only Kiki’s private residence, but Hexim Pass as well, was under extensive investigation. It was fortunatethat Tristan had taken Zachary away, because even the maids at Kiki’s villa were being taken away for private questioning one by one.

Xavier gazed at Yvette. “How many days left?”

Yvette was momentarily puzzled before understanding his question. “Ten days.”

To be precise, excluding today, she had three days left before leaving.

“I’ve booked a flight to Tenko. We’re leaving tonight,” Xavier said.

“Now?” Yvette’s eyes were filled with surprise. She had thought Xavier had given up on acting like a real couple. “When will we come back?”

“The day after tomorrow.”

Xavier had found Yvette’s previous travel plans, including visiting Tenko to see the exotic nightscape and the places depicted by her favorite cartoonist.

“Alright,” Yvette replied. Returning the day after tomorrow was perfect timing. “I’ll go pack.”

“No need. Everything is prepared over there.”

“Okay.”

Yvette had intended to inform Claude, but it seemed she would have to wait until after they reached

Tenko.

They were boarding a private jet half an hour later,

Sitting next to Xavier, Yvette gazed at the scattered lights outside the window.

The flight was over three hours long. Perhaps because of her pregnancy, she soon fell asleep. Xavier, who had drunk heavily the night before and hadn’t rested well today, hadn’t slept well the last night. Seeing Yvette asleep, he kept his eyes on her peaceful face.

Mark noticed this when he came over to deliver a blanket. Xavier quickly looked away, took the blanket, and gently covered Yvette before moving to another cabin with Mark to rest.

“Is everything ready at the hotel?” Xavier asked.

“Everything has been arranged, sir.” After responding, Mark couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Lane, will you really let Ms. Snyder go if she still wants to leave after ten days?”

Xavier raised an eyebrow. “Of course. It’s not like I can’t live without her.”

“Just like her, I’m not ending this after going through all that.” Xavier paused. “Also, I want to see what she actually wants and how long she can keep up the act.”

Mark noticed that even at this point, Xavier wouldn’t admit that he liked Yvette. It was obvious to anyone…

why would he propose being a real couple, using it as an excuse to win her over?

Mark didn’t want to expose him, so he just said, “Mr. Lane, Ms. Snyder isn’t worthy of you. You don’t need to waste your energy on her.”

“You talk too much,” Xavier warned, his face turning cold.

The plane landed three hours later.

Yvette woke up still feeling a bit groggy; lately, it seemed she could never get enough sleep. She got off the plane with Xavier.

As Xavier had the accompanying staff leave, the two of them walked alone through the streets of Tenko.

Yvette was somewhat indifferent. She was no longer the young woman who had just married him and had longed for romantic walks. All she wanted now was to live a peaceful life.

Noticing her disinterest, Xavier took her to a restaurant she had wanted to visit before. After dinner, they went back to the hotel, which was also one she had booked before.

When Yvette opened the door, the room was filled with flowers and gift boxes. Xavier had taken. medication to prevent any allergic reactions before arriving.

“What’s all this?” Yvette turned to look at Xavier.

“These are gifts,” Xavier replied.

Yvette casually picked up a gift box and opened it. Inside was a custom–made necklace from a brand she used to love.

She eventually realized something. “Did you read my old diary?”

“I thought it was just notes.” He avoided her gaze. “I only took a few glances.”

Yvetter found it increasingly hard to understand him. She put the necklace back. “I don’t need these. You should return everything.”

If all the gifts in this room were based on her so–called notes, they were probably worth several houses.
