Chapter 216
Xavier would have used much harsher words if Malcolm hadnât been present.
When Zayden and Marlene left Cliffordâs room, their faces were red in embarrassment. Zayden didnât even care to maintain his composure anymore. âWho does Xavier think he is to lecture me? Iâm older than him!â
Marlene walked next to him while holding Malcolmâs hand. She was furious as well. âThat cousin of yours didnât leave a shred of dignity for you. He sure belittled us in front of Malcolm and Mr. Lane Senior.â 1
She looked toward Xavierâs room and suddenly smirked coldly. âHe probably still doesnât know whoâs the joke here.â
Zayden was confused. âWhat do you mean?â
She scoffed. âHavenât you heard? He has brought that deaf woman home.
âSo what?â He thought it was a shame whenever he thought about Yvette. She was pretty but hearing- impaired, and she had to rely on hearing aids whenever she went out.
âDonât worry, darling. I make sure he regrets humiliating us today.â She bit her lip and added, âYou have no idea! Yvette has feelings for another man!â
Marlene was the only one who knew about this, and she learned about it by chance. She had never said anything about it before because she wanted to see Yvette make a fool out of herself.
Now, she couldnât wait for Xavier to find out what it felt like to be a laughingstock and truly useless!
When Xavier returned to the room, Yvette was already lying in the bed and reading a book. The soft light shone on her, complementing her side profile and making her look gentler than ever.
He threw his coat aside and took off his tie. Then, he slowly unbuttoned his shirt and asked, âWhat did my mom want from you?â
When she looked at him, he only had his underwear left on him. Yvette immediately looked away from his muscular body. âShe wants me to get pregnant with your child. She even said she would give me two billion dollars for a child.â
âDid you agree?â He quickly approached her and got close to her ear.
âNo. I donât want to sell my child.â When she turned her head, her lips grazed the side of his face.
Xavierâs heart skipped a bit, and he didnât know why he felt a little disappointed. He lifted her with a single arm, and she stopped him. âCan you promise me something?â
He breathed heavily. âLetâs talk about it later.â
âNo. I want to say it now.â
Xavier was put on the spot at that moment. âGo ahead,
âI want to see Noah for the holiday tomorrow.â
âNo.â He rejected her request right away. âYou saw him a few days ago.â

âItâs natural for mothers to watch to see their children as often as they can. I miss him a lot. If I canât see him tomorrow, can you tell me when I can see him? I want to spend more time with him.â She had done this so many times that she knew how to get him to say yes to her requests now.
She purposely avoided his touch and moved backward. It seemed like they couldnât continue what they were doing if he didnât agree to her terms. No man would think that much at a time like this, and as expected, it was the same for Xavier.
âThe day after tomorrow.â
âAlright.â She nodded.
Xavier gulped slightly. âHow should you thank me?â
She didnât understand. âFor what?â
âYouâll have to satisfy me tonight.â
He really had perfectly learned what Noah had done before. Yvette understood what he meant Immediately and thought he was shameless. She blushed and said, âBut I donât know how to do that.â He looked at her dotingly. âItâs alright. I can teach you.)
