Chapter 199
Yvette wanted to scan the area properly when she visited this time. If Xavier was unwilling to let Noah go, she would still be able to find a way to get him out of there.
When Noah heard that they were going to
visit him, he waited at the entrance for a long time. âMom!â
When she saw the tiny child standing at the gates, she immediately approached him and hugged him.â Why are you standing here?â She grabbed his hand. âAre you cold?â
âNo, Iâm not.â After saying that, he looked at Xavier, who was walking behind Yvette.âMister, my legs have gone numb while waiting for you two. Can you carry me inside?â
When Yvette heard that, she immediately said, âIâll carry you.â
However, Noah shook his head and continued to look at Xavier. âMister, my mom is weak. Can you carry
me?â
She felt a little awkward. Just as she was about to persuade Noah again, Xavier took a few steps forward and picked up Noah by grabbing his suspenders from behind. âLetâs go.â
Noahâs body hung in midair. After the incident between them the last, Xavier purposely kept a distance between himself and Noah while picking the latter up.
Noah smirked evilly and started kicking around. He immediately left a few tiny shoeprints on Xavierâs dark
suit.
Xavierâs face darkened instantly. As Noah kicked him, he apologized, âIâm sorry, Mister. Iâm having a cramp. I didnât mean to kick you.â
Xavier couldnât believe he would be able to kick so accurately when he claimed to have numb legs. He was sure that Noah was intentionally making things hard for him.
âItâs alright. Iâll take a look at your legs later.â
After he placed Noah on the couch, he reached out to grab the latterâs legs. Noah anxiously avoided him. â My legs are fine now, mister.â
Xavier just looked at him without saying a word. Yvette noticed something was wrong between them, and she quickly stepped in. âIâm sorry. Noah didnât do it on purpose. Why donât you get changed first?â
Xavier figured it wouldnât be wise for him to hold a grudge against a child either. âSure.â
After he left, Yvette hurriedly asked Noah, âAre your bones hurting again?â One of the symptoms of leukemia was bone pain.
Noah shook his head. âNo. My legs just felt a little numb.â
After saying that, he reached out to hug Yvette. âI havenât seen you ih so long, Mom. Iâve missed you so
much.â
âIâve missed you too. Iâm sorry for taking so long to visit you.â She felt extremely sad.
Seeing how there was no one around them, Noah pulled out a wrinkled Mom, I drew this when I missed you.â
of paper from his pocket.
Yvette took the paper and looked at it. It was a drawing of Fortian Manor and herself. She couldnât believe

her eyes. Even though the drawing looked rough, he had managed to draw all the details of the manor.
He got closer to her and said, âMom, when Iâm bored, Ms. Wendy takes me out for a walk. I like to draw all the places I like, and I wanted to show them to you.â
âYouâve been a great help, baby.â
This drawing was more like a map. Yvette was more confident about saving Noah now. Noah even pointed at the map and said to Yvette, âLook, Mom. Hereâs the cat, and hereâs theâ¦â
By cat, he meant the surveillance camera that looked like a catâs eye. She looked at the child in her embrace with suspicion. âWhy did you think of drawing these, Noah?â
He looked back at her with his big eyes and said innocently, âMy teacher taught me how to draw them. Iâve learned everything she taught me. Arenât I great?â
All the doubts in Yvetteâs mind were gone instantly. After all, Noah was still a fourâyearâold kid, and she figured he wouldnât know how to draw a map.
Zachary was smarter, so he might be able to think of that. Meanwhile, Noah was a normal child like she. had once been, so she thought he had just done it unintentionally.
âYeah. My dear Noah is the greatest.â
