Xavier noticed how unnatural Yvette was acting from the corner of his eyes, and he stopped probing her. She took a step back and avoided his sharp gaze. “I’m going to shower now.”

As she took two steps, he grabbed her hand right away and hugged her from behind. He breathed heavily as he said, “Let’s continue.”

She stood there stiffly. Before she could reject him, he kissed her neck.

“I don’t want to…” She hurriedly blocked him away.

He stopped what he was doing and continued breathing heavily. He didn’t know why, but ever since he had done it once with her, he found it harder to keep himself in control. He was becoming more and more greedy.

“Why?” he asked in a hoarse voice.

Before she could answer him, he added, “If you didn’t want this, why did you come back to mess with me? Tell me what the hell you want! I’ll give it all to you as long as I can!”

Xavier had never felt so helpless before.

He had gotten someone to check her past, and he had learned that she worked abroad. He had also learned that she had lived with Claude in the past few years. However, he didn’t know why she would suddenly return to his side.

Xavier hugged Yvette so tightly that her shoulders were starting to hurt.

“Let me go.”

He didn’t want to do that. He kept feeling that she would disappear again if he let go of her.

Just as the both of them were caught in an awkward situation, someone rang the doorbell downstairs and interrupted them.

Xavier changed his clothes and went down. Shannon was already waiting for him in the living room. When she saw him coming down, she quickly approached him.

“Xav, I don’t care what happens today, I want you to bring that child to me.” After she had learned that he had brought back a child a few days ago, she had told someone to look into it.

She hadn’t expected Xavier to keep the secret so well that she still couldn’t find anything on Noah.

When Xavier learned her intentions, he coldly said, “He’s not my son.”

Shannon was stunned. “What did you say?”

The grandson that she had been yearning for turned out to be someone else’s grandson.

“Then, whose child is he?” She didn’t believe he would take care of someone else’s child for no reason.

Xavier pulled up a chair and took a seat. “You don’t have to worry about it.”

Shannon’s eyes turned red immediately. “Why wouldn’t worry about it? I want a grandchild! If you’re really sick like your brother, I can let you adopt a child.”

Shortly after she left, Xavier looked up and saw Yvette coming out. Then, he couldn’t help thinking about the child who hadn’t been born. “Come here.”

She stood there, but she didn’t approach him. Xavier looked at how cold she seemed and felt upset. In the end, he stood up and walked to her. “Get changed. We’re going out.”

“Where are we going?”

“Didn’t you used to say you wanted to see the ocean?” he asked.

Yvette hadn’t thought that he would remember that. “I’ve already seen it.” She had lived by the ocean when she had been abroad.

When Xavier heard that, he thought about it. “In that case, let’s go see some cherry blossoms.”

He remembered how she used to say she wanted to go to Tenko. However, after she had married him, they had never traveled overseas together.

The closest thing they had done was him looking for Yvette abroad in those three years.

She looked out the window and said, “It’s fall now, and there won’t be any cherry blossoms.”
