Yvette went over to Kikiâs place bright and early. The pair had breakfast together before waiting for Daphne to come over and apologize.
âWhy do you think Daphne had a sudden change of heart, Yvvy?â Kiki was puzzled.
Just the other day, Daphne had still been paying people to take down the articles online. Why had she suddenly wanted to apologize? How strange.
Yvette had no clue either.
Logically speaking, Xavier and Tristan wouldnât just keep to themselves if Daphne was ever in trouble. They would have no problem with taking the articles down if they wanted to.

At 10:00 am, Daphne showed up with a lawyer in tow. Yvette retreated to the bedroom.
Daphne was wearing a mask and sunglasses. After she entered the manor, she looked at Kiki, who was sitting on the couch.
Kiki had some baby fat in her cheeks, and it made her look exceptionally young for her age.
âHello, Ms. Torres.â Daphne didnât remove her shades.
âLetâs skip the formalities, Ms. Reyes. Do apologize.â Kiki went straight to the point. She didnât even ask Daphne to take a seat.
Daphne was at a loss for words. However, at the thought of the articles online, she knew she had to apologize. âIâm sorry.â
âI donât think youâre being sincere about this. Forget it. Kiki tried to make it harder for her.
Daphne was slightly annoyed, but her lawyer kept her in check.
She took off her shades and her mask. Then, she tried again. âIâm sorry. I hope youâll forgive me for my actions. Iâm willing to accept any of your demands for compensation.â
Since Daphne was usually obnoxious and arrogant, Kiki was extremely thrilled by her apology.
âOn top of the apology, my client has asked for a formal acknowledgement of your plagiarism to media outlets and to the public. Would you be willing to accept that?â
Yvette had told Daphne her demands ages ago. They werenât willing to let Daphne off the hook so easily. Daphne didnât respond. Instead, she looked toward her lawyer.
The lawyer walked forward and said, âMs. Torres, would you be willing to do Ms, Reyes a favor? Could

Kiki wasnât surprised. No wonder Daphne had offered to apologizeâthey wanted to bribe her.
She offered them a smile. âIâm afraid youâve got the wrong idea. I donât care for status like Ms. Reyes does.
Then, she walked toward Daphne and mocked her. âMs. Reyes, you have a knack for plagiarizing, and youâve been running rampant overseas. On top of that, you came back to the country and decided to be a homewrecker.
âForget about statuses or titles; you should prepare yourself for court! Your career is over! I wasnât
planning on accepting your apology in the first place.â
Daphne stared at her in shock. âWhat did you just say?â
To add to her shock, the door to the bedroom flew open, and Yvette walked out.
Did that mean Yvette had witnessed her groveling earlier? She immediately became furious. âDid you get your 1 friend to take revenge on me because you couldnât win over Xav?â
Yvette was speechless. Daphne managed to irritate her every time she spoke. She asked in return, âDid I ask you to plagiarize someone elseâs work?â
Upon hearing that rebuttal, Daphne didnât feel like apologizing anymore.
She glared at Yvette with sheer hatred. âSince you donât want to do things the easy way, Iâm afraid Iâll have to take matters into my own hands.â
Subsequently, she ditched her lawyer and stormed off
Once she got back to she kicked everyone else out of the vehicle. Then, she called Andy.
