After receiving Yvette’s text, Daphne broke into a huge grin. Subsequently, she immediately sent a message to Xavier.

“Hey, Xav. I don’t know what kind of relationship you have with Yvette right now, but she’s not the kind of person you think she is. If you don’t believe me, come to Junction Cafe at 10:00 pm tonight.”

She wanted to expose Yvette right in front of Xavier.

Yvette was still completely unaware of Daphne’s plans. She got out of bed and washed up.

Xavier was sitting on the couch in the living room as he looked at his phone. Upon hearing footsteps, he deleted the message from Daphine and lifted his head.

“Let’s go out for breakfast,” he said.

Yvette was confused. She could have sworn that there was breakfast on the dining table. She brushed the thought aside and headed out with him nonetheless.

“What?” The thought of Daphne crossed her mind, but she feigned confusion.

Xavier’s eyes narrowed. He looked up at her serene expression and pursed his lips. “What plans?”

“It’s a private matter.” She tried to make it sound secretive.

The driver was none other than Ray himself. It was no wonder he was Claude’s right–hand man. He was extremely meticulous.

After she got in the vehicle, Ray informed her that a car was tailing them. It was one of Xavier’s men, no doubt.

“Do we need to get rid of them?” He asked.

“That won’t be necessary.” If they tried to lose Xavier’s men, Xavier would only become more suspicious about what Yvette was doing.

Ray glanced at her through the rear view mirror. “Where are we heading?”

“Please just drive around. I’ve been feeling extremely cooped up.”

Sure thing.”

The car fell silent. Yvette rolled down the windows and looked out at the passing scenery. It felt foreign and familiar at the same time.

As she glanced at the view, she gradually became more relaxed.

Xavier’s men followed them the entire time. Upon noticing that they were just making munds around the city, they reported their observations to Xavier, and he told them to continue keeping an eye on her.

As the cab drew close to Snyder Residence, Yvette couldn’t help but ask, “Could you take us over there, Ray?”

Snyder Residence was built on a hill. As James had liked antiques, the entire residence was mainly made of wood.

Moreover, he had filled the outdoor area with various plants. There was an abundance of Yvette’s favorite flower–begonia–in particular.
