Xavier went out at night.
Not long after he left, Yvette received a message from Ray. âXawer is gone. Find a way to leave. I have something to tell you.â
Since the security at Dewberry Manor was tight, Rayâs only choice was to keep watch on Yvette from somewhere far away.
He needed to make sure Yvette didnât get into any danger. Sometimes, he could also see whether Xavier was gone or not.
Yvette put her sheet music away and left the manor.
Once she was outside, she instructed the driver to make a lot of turns so they could lose the bodyguards tailing them.
Soon, she saw Rayâs car in front of her.
After getting out of the car, she got into Rayâs
âWhat is it?â she asked.
Ray grabbed his phone and used the GPS to navigate them to somewhere in the west of Tirion.
This is the direction that Xavier was headed in earlier today. I went on the same route and noticed that the security there was tight. I suspect thatâs where he took Noah,â he replied.
Yvette closely examined the massive area.
âFrom what I can see, itâs too big of an area,â she remarked.
âExactly.â Ray pulled out a brand new phone and gave it to her. âUse this phone from now on. Your current phone might have been tapped. Mr. Lander said heâd be back in a few days.â
Yvette took the phone. âThanks.â
âHe wants you to call him and let him know how youâre doing after getting this phone,â Ray added.
âOkay.â
Ray drove to a secluded part of the road that didnât have any surveillance cameras. Then, Yvette made a call.
Claude picked up in no time. âHow are you doing, Yvette?â
âIâm fine. Donât worry. Iâll think of a way to find out where Noah is,â she hurriedly answered.

Her main concern was that even if they managed to find where Noah was, they wouldnât necessarily be able to get him out of there. After all, she knew how smart Xavier could be.
âOkay. I was trying to ask if he hurt you or not.â Claude was standing on top of the highest building. The cold wind blew past him. It was early in the morning for him, and the sky was still dark.
He stood tall and unwavering. His firm upper body was covered in fresh wounds, and his handsome face was bleeding as well.
Yvette gulped. âNo.â
âWait for me. Iâll be there in no time.â Claude knew that she had to be hiding something.
âOkay. Donât rush. I have backup with me: Nothing is going to happen,â she assured him.
Even though Yvette had no idea what kind of work Claude was doing, she knew that he was constantly in danger.
After ending the call, Claude went back into the room.
The doctor, Steve Smith, hurriedly bandaged Claudeâs bleeding arm.
âWhoever did this must have really wanted to put you in the grave, Mr. Claude. Steve examined the wound on his arm, which was bigger than his palm and bleeding profusely.
There was a calm look on Claudeâs face. His colorless lips parted as he replied, âDo you still think Iâm the same pushover I was as a kid?â
âMr. Claude, are you going to tell Mr. Lander?
Claude shook his head. âIf he cared about me, he wouldnât have let me wander around Tirion
for so many years. We canât rely on anyone, remember?â
Steve nodded.
However, as he took care of Claudeâs wounds, he grew increasingly distressed.
âYou shouldnât show yourself in public for the time being, Mr. Lander. Itâs too dangerous,â he
warned.
âI canât do that. I have to go back to Tirion.â Claude refused the suggestion immediately.
Steve knew that nobody could change Claudeâs mind except for Yvette, so he didnât say anything more. He simply focused on treating Claudeâs wounds.
Not long ago, Claude had promised his father Benjamin Lander, that he would finish up a bunch of overseas projects.
But he had gotten severely injured before he could do so. He had to hurry up and deal with the
2/3
projects so that he could return to Tirion.
He couldnât let Yvette stay in Tirion by herself anymore.
