Chapter 100
Xavier was in no mood to continue eating. He was too annoyed. How had he never realized how sharp- tongued Yvette was?
The sky outside had grown dark, and after a low rumble of thunder, lightning flashed in the sky.
Yvette turned on her phone to see that it was already 8:00 p.m. Usually, she would call Viola at this time and also check in on Zachary.
A tall figure blocked the light in front of her. Xavier had suddenly appeared behind her. âWhat are your looking at?â
Yvette immediately put her phone away and turned back to look at him. Xavierâs complexion looked much better, but his eyes were still sharp.
âHave you finished eating? Can I go home now?â
âWhy are you in such a rush to get back? Did Claude contact you?â Xavier asked in a measured tone..
Yvette felt like he was hinting at something. âWhat do you mean by that?
He was speaking so strangely today. Why did he keep mentioning Claude? At that moment, Yvetteâs phone rang. She glanced at it and saw that it was Claude calling.
She panicked, but Xavier was very calm. âIâll give you five minutes. Come back as soon as youâve taken the call.â
Yvette immediately took her phone outside. She only picked up when she saw that there were no people or cameras nearby,
âHello?â
âYvette, Noahâs been taken by Xavierâs men.â
Claudeâs words made her feel as if she had been struck by lightning. She finally understood what Xavier had been referring to.
âWhat do you mean? Why would Xavier take Noah?
âWhen did he find out about him?
âDoes he know who Noah is?
âOh, what about Zac? Is Zac alright?
She was panicking. It had all happened so suddenly. She hadnât expected Xavier to find out about Noah so quickly.
âDonât worry. Once Iâve taken care of things here, come back at once.â
Claude said, âYouâve got to stay calm. Xavier probably doesnât know about Noahâs identity yet. Even if he does, Noah is his child. He would never hurt his own child. Donât be afraid.â
Yvette could not calm down at all. Huge raindrops splashed onto her face. When she hung up, she

was still trembling.
Yvette stood in the rain for a long time before she could finally calm down. She walked back to the
villa.
Xavierâs tall figure stood in the distance, and he held a glass of wine in his slender fingers.
âDidnât I say five minutes?â He looked at Yvette and realized that she was drenched. She looked as if
she had lost her soul.
Claude must have told her about Noah. Xavier downed the wine in his glass and put it down. He picked up a towel and walked over to her.
âDonât you know how to stay out of the rain? How have you survived abroad over the past few
years?â
His eyes were dark as he began rubbing her hair dry. He couldnât believe what he was doing, but he did
it anyway.
Yvette was as pale as a sheet. Her fists clenched slightly. âWhere did you take the child?â
Xavierâs lip curled. âA very safe place.â
Yvette lost it. Her eyes turned red. âGive him back to me!â
Xavierâs hand paused. âBefore I return him to you, I have something to ask you.â
and Claude?â He swallowed, and the corners of his eyes turned red. âIs Noah reallyâthe child of you
Noah? Yvette could not believe it.
Before she could react, Xavier said again, âForget it. You donât have to answer.
He bent down and whispered in her ear. His bewitchingly handsome face looked as cold as ice.
âYou remember who I am now, donât you, Ms. Snyder?â
She did not answer. Xavier tossed the towel onto the floor. He gripped her wrist tightly and dragged her upstairs.
âWhat do you want?â Yvette panicked.
When he reached the room she had once stayed in, Xavier pushed the door open with his free hand. There was a stark blackâandâwhite photo displayed there, and an urn.
