Chapter 36 Foolish boy She asked me between two sniffs. What I really wanted to do was just to hold her in my embrace, and tell her she has nothing to worry about because I do everything to defend her, but I couldn’t do that yet.

She looked at me with her teary eyes. I kept staring at her, and I continued.

“But, believe it or not, I’m not harming women unless they aren’t my enemies.”

I stood up and walked to the door. But before I left, I had a thought. I turned back.

“And Alice, if you could think about something that y you could do to make me forgive you, then that might happen sooner.”

I stared at her from her head to toe, which made her frown first, then she looked at me questioningly. I turned around and when she couldn’t see me, I just smiled. So many times I imagined that, and I wished she would have been that fool, but I was certain about I wouldn’t do anything with her if she would agree out of fear.

I left her room. I walked back down, then I only stopped smiling before I entered the living room to see Gemma.

Gemma’s surprised face confused me for a moment, but then I remembered Alice screamed while she tried to break free from my embrace. “Are we goin going?” I asked her.

“Did you lock her up?”

“She won’t go anywhere.”

She smiled at me happily, and she held my hand. I knew she misunderstood me. She thought Alice wasn’t able to walk. What a foolish woman, I thought.

“I can’t wait to have lunch with your family” she said that while she pulled me out of the house by holding my hand. I helped her to sit in my car like a gentleman, but before I sat in too, I had a look at the window. Alice’s window looked at the front. I saw her figure through the glass. She watched us leave. For a moment, I felt guilty not taking her with us, but I pushed these thoughts away. If I would have revealed my feelings for her, that would have ruined my plans completely. I sat in the car, and I drove to my parent’s home.

Riccardo I sat in my working room, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the Sullivans, Alexandra kept saying that she wasn’t sure if Gideon caused the accident. She only told me the same brand and type of car that Gideon Sullivan’s had crushed hers.

That boy created a lot of trouble for the family, and for me also, but this time he went too for Alexandra was the second chance of life for me. She was nearly twenty years younger than me, but she could always warm my heart up. Since she came into my life, I felt alive again.

Alexandra used to work as a spy. She joined no families or groups. She liked to be independent.

I hired her for a job, and we got close while we worked together. Before she married me, I told her I want her to be my wife only. I promised to protect her and threatened fatal consequences for anyone who harmed her. Gideon knew that well, and by sending those photographs for the Sullivans, I wanted them to know I had enough of his stupid games, When I heard about his marriage, I was laughing out loud. A knock pulled me out of my thoughts. I shouted “come in“. Carlo, my right hand, and the most loyal guy of mine, stepped in. He looked frustrated.

“What’s happened, Carlo?”

“The Sullivans were at an event. We went there to find out more about Gideon’s wife, and we lost Enzo.”

I looked at him with a sudden move. That wasn’t the first time the Sullivan’s people killed one of mine. That was a loss, but in our world, that could happen.

“Have you got his body?”

“Yes.”

“Make sure his family is comfortable. I’ll pay for his funeral. Organise a nice one for him. He deserves it.”

Sam emptied a whole corridor for them to leave the place freely, and they left in a rush. He knew we were there, as I think we didn’t meet their guys accidentally.”

“Interesting.” I laughed. I just couldn’t believe that Gideon was that stupid.

“Continue watching them. Just listen to every single detail. If Gideon is mostly with the blonde one, then the figure skater girl is who we need.” “He seems to to show himself with both of them.”

I smiled and shrugged my shoulders.

“Then you you can get your guys ready. In that case, they can have fun with both of them.”

Carlo smiled at me this time.
