Chapter 105 The desired meeting I looked at him and nodded, even if I thought that was ridiculous. Actually, we were about to sign a contract with them, which was about drinks only, so I didnât understand why she needed to know about the club that much. But Sethâs words echoed in my head on and on, so I didnât dare to say a word. Mum, Sloane and Leah played with cards, Seth and dad played with Ava. Even if I was with my family, I felt incredibly alone. Like I was an outsider. My phone woke me up from my daze. It was vibrating in my pocket. I took it out, and my heart warmed up to see who sent me a message. It was like she felt my loneliness.
âWhat are you doing?â
I smiled. That clearly told me she missed me, too.
âFamily time, then I have to go to the club.â
âWill you meet Amber?â
I frowned. How the hell did she know about her?
âSheâll be there, but probably she knows that by now Iâm not interested in her.â
âWhy not?â
I exhaled in disbelief.
âBecause Iâm only interested in you.â
âBe careful with her Gideon.â
I frowned again.
âHow do you know about her?â
âThe right question is what I know about her.â
âAlice, please donât do this to me.â
I desperately wanted her to answer me, but my phone was quiet. Nearly a half an hour passed when my phone vibrated again.
âCan you meet me now?â
My heart pounded faster, and I felt thrilled.
âAnytime.â
âMeet me at my favourite part of the coast in a half an hour.â
I couldnât help but smile. Did she seriously think I didnât know where it was? But in a second I realised I wasnât alone, and I looked around nervously. I only met Avaâs gaze. I glanced back at my phone.
âIâll be there. I love you.â
There wasnât any answer, but I got used to it by now. I stood up and everyoneâs attention landed on me.
âGideon, what are you doing?â My mum asked.
âI got something to do. It canât wait. I have to leave now.â
âYou canât leave now. What have you got to do, anyway?â
âIâve just got to help someone, mum.â
âI hope you didnât forget the club, Gideon.â My dad reminded me.
Chapter 105 The desired meeting âNo, Iâll go in. But I really have to go now.â
I just grabbed my jacket, and I ran out hurriedly. I didnât want to give them a chance to hold me back. After running to my car, I sat in. I turned on the engine, and I drove to the place. It took me about fifteen minutes to get there. I just parked my car in the car park, then I waited My heart pounded faster when I saw the familiar car to arrive. I got out of mine, then I saw her get out of hers too. She stood there for a second and just looked at me. I didnât want to push her. I was worried she would just disappear again if I would be so headstrong.
She walked to me finally. The warm wind blew her ponytail on her shoulder. She wore a black sportswear. When she stood in front of me, the scent of her perfume hit my nose and it made me shiver.
âAre we going for a walk?â She asked.
âOf course.â I said.
She smiled, and she turned around. I walked next to her. We walked on the seashore for a few minutes when she looked at me.
âHow was your evening with your family?â I smiled, but not happily.
âI was happy to leave.â
âHow come?â She frowned.
âThings are different now. I think in that family only Ava feels the same as me.â
Her facial expression showed a bit of sadness.
âIs she still skating?â
âYes, I donât think she would stop.â
âShe is talented.â
I smiled, and I stayed quiet for a little while.
âHow is your career?â
She laughed.
âIâm exhausted, but Iâm training for the Olympics. My trainers are brutal, but I have to do that if I want to stand on the top of the podium.â
âIâm sure youâll get there.â
She smiled and lowered her head. As we walked from the corner of my eyes, I saw something flashed; I moved my gaze there.
âRiccardoâs people are all around us.â
She looked at me and smiled.
âDonât you trust me?â
I laughed.
âIf they kill me after this walk, I would say that it was worth it because I could see you.â
She chuckled this time. But she was like before. Hearing that, I felt a bit of courage to ask.
âHow do you know about Amber?â
She kept her smile. âRiccardo told me about her.â
I locked at her suddenly.
Chapter 105 The desired meeting âFirst, he told me you should be careful with her, as her family broke. Now she is into you, and if we think about that logically, you are the only single man in the Sullivan family.â
Her words shocked me.
âI asked Riccardo if he knew more about them. He said he only knows that your dad used to cooperate with them.â
Her words hit me like slaps.
âI canât believe that my father would do this to me.â
She looked at me.
âI donât know Gideon, he might just hope that youâll like her, and then he can have a lucky son and a happy business partner.â
I looked at her, and I just stared at her for a little while. I saw sadness on her face. That encouraged me more. I slipped my arms around her waist and I pulled her close to face me.
âAlice, I can only be happy with you. Iâm not interested in her at all. I love you. And I want you.â
Her lips curled back into a smile, and she leaned her head on my shoulder. That felt so good. I wanted to shout out my happiness.
I wrapped my arms around her, and I kept her like that. She didnât even try to push herself away.
âSomehow, you should get rid of them around you.â
I whispered to her. But she just laughed again and lifted her head up from my shoulder to look at me.
âGideon, stop it. They are here to guide me because of Charles.â
âWhat?â I looked at her in disbelief. I regretted questioning her as she got out of my embrace. She stood in front of me and looked into my eyes.
âGideon, I told you already Iâm not imprisoned.â
âAlice, I know your mother belonged to them, but I wouldnât trust them. You donât know about their relationship, you donât know if Riccardo wants revenge or-â
âGideon, calm down. Riccardo would never hurt me.â
I rolled my eyes. I couldnât believe that things had changed so much, so she defended him.
âHow can you be so sure about that, Alice?â
She smiled, shook her head, and looked at the sand, then looked back at me.
