Chapter 508:
Bailee thought it over. âYouâre right. I noticed a rental notice in our building as I was leaving. Iâll get in touch with the landlord right away.â
While Bailee contacted property management, Ruby decided to address the situation with Winona.
As Bailee made her phone call, Ruby sent a text message:
âWinona, given the developments with our children, letâs not prolong this any further. Can we arrange a meeting to discuss the matter?â
The text message was met with silence, and Ruby patiently waited. She didnât mind. After all, Bailee hadnât finalized her housing situation yet.
At a shopping mall in Onaland, Bryan relaxed in a café, holding Gabriela in his arms, enjoying the warmth of the sun. The charming sight of Gabriela nestled in his arms drew admiring glances from those nearby. The handsome man and his adorable child made a heartwarming scene. Onlookers were captivated by the charming duo.
Across from Bryan, Josue wore a frustrated expression. âBryan, this is too much. Did you come out just to sit here? Donât you consider my feelings at all?â He gestured to his face. âAs Gabrielaâs godfather, donât I have some standing to maintain?â
âWhat? Youâre shameless enough anyway,â Bryan replied coolly, continuing to play with Gabriela.
Bryan found great amusement in Josueâs flustered state, a smile curving his lips.
âFine, youâve won,â Josue conceded, taking a sip of his coffee. He silently grumbled but couldnât keep his eyes off Gabriela.
Despite the passage of time, Gabriela still remembered Josue. Upon seeing him, she flashed a bright smile, her dimples adding to her charm.
Josueâs heart softened at the sight. Just as he was about to lean in and ask Bryan to let him hold his goddaughter, his phone suddenly rang.
The tales you love are at gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm âHello?â Josue answered, not checking the caller ID, his attention still fixed on Gabriela as he made playful faces.
Abruptly, his demeanor shifted as he responded and hastily ended the call.
âDamn it. Bryan, Iâm in trouble! My ex-wife and her brother are here!â Josue fidgeted nervously, unsure where to place his hands.
Bryanâs eyes narrowed. âWhy are you so afraid? She was the one who tricked you, left with your sperm, and denied you the chance to recognize your child. You donât need to be scared.â
âItâs not that; she wants to reconcile with me,â Josue said, scratching his head. Noticing Bryanâs calm face, he remarked, âI canât stand you since your daughter doesnât even have your last name.â
âDoes your child have your surname?â Bryan confronted Josue directly. âNot only does she not have your last name, but you havenât even met your child. You donât even know if itâs a boy or a girl. Now, your ex-wife wants to reunite with you, and youâre not grateful? Thereâs no need to be so stubborn.â
Bryan spoke from personal experience. Being obstinate led to nothing.
As a thought crossed his mind, Josueâs expression grew somber. âShe wants to reconcile; thatâs fine. But she deceived me before!â
