“Having my goddaughter with you really bothers me!” Josue grumbled. He pressed further, “Can you really bring yourself to take her out? She’s been stuck at home for so long; it’s unbearable to even think about.”

His voice carried a mix of frustration and concern as he gently tapped Eileen’s shoulder and suggested, “I could take her out, you know.”

Eileen was at a loss for words.
