Chapter 260:
The reporters were all focused on the Beckett familyâs announcement of an engagement, and now, they unexpectedly found Megan in bed with Kian.
The Beckett family and the Warren family were not publicly known to be close, so the reporters had almost forgotten that Kian and Megan were related.
Realizing this, the reporters were buzzing with shock as they snapped more photos.
âCould this actually be incest? In todayâs world, no matter how fond you are of certain lines, some just shouldnât be crossed!â One reporter remarked. âI really donât understand what Mr. Warren is thinking; Megan doesnât seem that attractive in my eyes.â
The relentless sound of cameras and the ongoing chatter eventually roused Kian.
He woke up to realize he was naked, with the room swarming with people.
He instinctively pulled the blanket, only to accidentally reveal Meganâs naked body more.
The media collectively gasped and turned away, deeming it inappropriate, yet their cameras continued to click with even greater fervor.
âMr. Warren, how long have you and Megan been involved?â
âDo your parents know about this?â
âDonât you think this defies common decency?â
âAre you planning to get married, or is this arrangement permanent?â
Explore the world of fiction at gⱯlnÏνðâsâ¤com Kianâs mind was clouded, haunted by the unsettling memory of passing out unexpectedly the night before. An ominous feeling gripped him.
He glanced at the woman beside him, exposed by his inadvertent tug of the blanket.
âFuck off,â he cursed, realizing the gravity of what had happened. In a surge of anger, he kicked Megan off the bed.
Megan lay sprawled in a humiliating position.
The reporters, repulsed, averted their gazes, snapping only a few obligatory photos before redirecting their focus to Kian.
Questions bombarded Kian like a hail of bullets. Kianâs expression darkened with fury. He wanted to escape, but he didnât have any clothes.
âGet out, all of you! If you dare to report nonsense, you are going against the Warren family!â he roared, his friendly facade shattered as he hurled a pillow at the reporters.
His attempt didnât deter them, but it did awaken Megan. Suddenly aware of her nakedness in front of so many people, she screamed and hurried back to the bed.
Grabbing a corner of the blanket, Megan slipped under it, only to discover another naked person there. The reporters were all stunned.
Kian glowered at the figure who was now kneeling between his legs.
Megan knelt on the bed, looking at what was before her.
Her scream pierced the air once more.
âEnough!â Raymond stepped in front of the reporters. âIf the Warren family arrives, I doubt youâll want to leave. Why not go back and concoct a romantic tale about Mr. Warren and Miss Beckett now?â
The reporters had taken the photos they needed, and seeing Kian like that, they knew he wouldnât tell them the truth about him and Megan.
They quickly dispersed, muttering among themselves about crafting their narratives.
âCome back here!â Kian shouted, hurling a bottle of water at the door.
But Raymond was swift to shut the door, intercepting the bottle. He then respectfully turned to Bryan. âMr. Dawson, everything has been dealt with. What should we do next?â
âDo you feel pleased now?â Bryan asked Eileen, implying that the dayâs turmoil had been staged for her benefit.
His resentment toward Kian lingered. He would find a chance to vent it later.
Eileen, who was staring at the door, paused, still absorbing the drama that had just unfolded.
âDid they actually sleep with each other?â she asked.
âDid they?â Bryan turned the question to Raymond. Yesterday, Raymond had been the one to escort the people dealing with Kian and Megan after they had passed out. Raymond quickly shook his head. âThe drugs only knocked them out; they didnât do anything. But no one would believe that.â
âWell done,â Bryan praised. He then paused before suggesting, âYou should get your eyes checked at the hospital after seeing them naked; the company will cover the cost.â
Raymond hesitated. âI actually had someone else undress them.â
âSend whoever did it to the hospital then and give them a bonus for the inconvenience,â Bryan instructed. He turned to Eileen. âAre you feeling satisfied now? If not, feel free to do whatever else you deem necessary.â
âI am,â Eileen replied, feeling she had gotten her revenge.
Kian and Megan would face the consequences they deserved. Eileen wondered if Kian would face any lasting effects from this encounter with Megan.
âLetâs leave then.â Bryanâs lips curled into a slight smile, his eyes warm with affection. âGrandmother just called. She has prepared some gifts for when we visit your mom. We should head back.â
âYouâre going to meet my mom?â Bailee asked, a note of surprise in her voice.
âWhatâs the matter?â Bryan inquired, responding to her astonishment. âIsnât it about time?â
âOf course, itâs just⦠the idea of you meeting my mom really excites me!â Bailee was anxious, aware of the vast difference in their social standings.
Eileen chuckled and released Bryanâs hand. âIâll go with Bailee to get our things together. Letâs meet up at the hotel entrance.â Bryan paused for a moment before grabbing Eileenâs hand once more. âNo, from now on, I canât let you out of my sight, not even for a minute.â
As they stepped into the elevator, Bryan wouldnât let go of Eileenâs hand, compelling her to accompany him to gather his belongings.
Afterward, she went to pack her own items. With one hand occupied by packing and the other held firmly by Bryan, Eileen felt quite hindered.
Noticing her struggle, Bailee hurried over to lend a hand. âEileen, let me help you pack. You guys can leave without me, and I can catch a ride back with Raymond later.â
âWeâll all head back together. Raymond has his own work to handle,â Eileen replied, trying unsuccessfully to wriggle free from Bryanâs grasp.
She stomped on his foot with force, causing Bryanâs expression to turn into a frown, yet he held on.
It wasnât until his phone buzzed that he finally released her hand, saying, âFive minutes. Make it quick.â
He then strode toward the door to take the call.
âMr. Dawson, the Warren family has sent clothes for Kian, but Megan is still in the suite,â Raymond reported. He had been keeping an eye on the situation with Kian and Megan.
The Warren family would naturally help Kian.
However, Megan had fled from the Beckett family, and her parents were still searching for her.
Getting in touch with her family would mean being coerced into marrying that old man, so Megan stayed in the suite, uncertain of her next move.
âThe Warren family is bound to try to squash the story,â Raymond pointed out.
Raymond knew the journalists were itching to cover such a juicy scandal. But if the Warren family took decisive measures, the press wouldnât dare to challenge them openly.
âWhatâs their fear? Just report against them!â Bryan asserted with confidence.
Raymond, spurred by Bryanâs assertive tone, felt a surge of determination. âI know what to do now!â he exclaimed.
âDo it boldly. If the reporters are hesitant, just purchase the photos from them.â Bryan was determined to leave Kian with no escape routes.
There was no need for Bryan to manipulate anything secretly. He intended to publicly declare his opposition to the Warren family.
After the call, Raymond immediately began to manage the situation.
Once she finished packing, Eileen met up with Bryan.
An hour later, their car pulled up beside a small truck loaded with a variety of valuable gifts.
Eileen noticed this and turned to Bryan, saying, âDonât tell me these are the gifts you bought for my mom.â
Bryan was a bit awkward; he had earlier called Stella to coordinate their upcoming visit to Eileenâs mother.
Stella had assured him confidently, âDonât worry. Iâll ensure everything is set perfectly.â
Bailee, understanding the situation, gasped.
âWhy did you take so long to return?â Stella emerged from the luxury car that was parked in front of the truck, her patience wearing thin from waiting so long.
Rubbing her back as she walked over, she rolled her eyes at Bryan. âIsnât it common courtesy to visit earlier? Who shows up right at mealtime? Are you here expecting to be fed?â
âWe were held up by some issues,â Bryan explained, his eyes filled with subtle worry, conceding that his manner was indeed improper.
âItâs still early, and besides, any delayâ¦â
âEileen and I can leave without you, and I can catch a ride back with Raymond later,â Eileen said.
Earlier, Eileen had sent a message to Ruby before they headed back, mentioning someone would be along and that they might be late.
Ruby had been completely understanding and had even told her not to rush, stressing that safety came first.
This seemed to lighten Stellaâs spirits significantly. âWell, thatâs a relief. Letâs meet up together,â she said.
âWait,â Eileen paused, puzzled. âYouâre coming with us?â
She had assumed Stella was just there to watch over the valuable items in the truck.
To her astonishment, Stella intended to join them upstairs. Eileen frowned and said, âThatâs really not appropriate. Youâre the elder here; it should be my mother visiting you.â
âWhy adhere to such formalities? Weâre family now. When will your mother be well enough to visit me? I canât wait that long. Today, I want to discuss the details of your marriage with her,â Stella said.
Stella had clearly thought this through. Eileen and Bryanâs wedding could wait until Ruby was completely well, but everything else needed to be decided now.
Eileen, familiar with Stellaâs resolute nature, realized arguing was futile and resignedly agreed.
âIs this your sister?â Stella then shifted her focus to Bailee.
