Chapter 196:
Bryan narrowed his eyes, his expression turning resigned.
âHave you taken your medicine?â he inquired.
Eileen shook her head. She had avoided eating the things Phoebe had purchased earlier.
Seeing this, Bryan fiddled with his phone for a moment. Soon, someone arrived with a meal that was easy on the stomach.
Feeling famished, Eileen ate while the food was still warm and then took her medicine. Previously, Bryan had been curious about what Stella had told Eileen, but now that he was with her, he didnât mention the matter.
After Eileen finished eating, Bryan lay on the bed with her, turned on the TV, and held her close. The silence was thick with the sentiment of their recent time apart.
âWhy havenât you asked about what Stella told me?â Eileen queried.
Bryan responded, âI received a call from my grandmother on the way here.â
A sudden thought caused Eileen to tense up. âWhat did she tell you?â she asked, realizing she had forgotten to inform Stella that she hadnât told Bryan about being his ex-wife.
âShe simply told me to do as I please,â Bryan replied. This meant Stellaâs approval; Bryan needed no further details.
âIâve booked flight tickets for myself and Phoebe to go back to Wist Land tomorrow morning,â Eileen said. The booking had been made while Phoebe was drinking earlier. It was dark outside now, and their flight was less than twelve hours away.
Eileen wrapped her arms more tightly around Bryan, breathing in the comfort of his scent. Bryanâs fingers gently sifted through her hair as he leaned down to kiss her forehead softly.
âIâll drive you to the airport then,â he said.
âOkay,â Eileen agreed, nestling into a more comfortable spot in his embrace.
Reflecting, Eileen marveled at how much had transpired within just twenty-four hours.
Eileen quickly fell asleep in Bryanâs arms, her appearance as gentle as that of a kitten. Eventually, Bryan switched off the television. The neon lights outside the window bathed them in a soft glow.
As they lay together, the inadequate soundproofing allowed faint sounds from other rooms to seep in, rousing Eileen from her sleep. Her eyes flicked open, and she fixated on Bryanâs enticing Adamâs apple. As he swallowed, his hand moved to cover her ears, either to shield her from the disruptive sounds or because he found them unpleasant.
Eileen playfully moved her head and gently bit his Adamâs apple.
Bryan tensed up instantly, his voice rough as he said, âDonât move!â
âDonât you want me?â Eileen murmured, her nose softly brushing against his chin. From the moment she arrived and saw Bryan, she hadnât planned to leave without being intimate with him. Besides, there was no reason to restrain themselves now.
Holding her close, the sound of her voice like music to his ears, and overwhelmed by his feelings for her, Bryan couldnât control himself anymore. He leaned in, lavishing kisses on her forehead, eyes, and nose. Feeling his warm breath against her skin, Eileen tilted her head to meet his lips, their breaths mingling.
Bryan then placed her down jacket on the bed, smoothly shifting positions so that she was beneath him. âEileen,â he whispered, each word dripping with desire as he continued to kiss her passionately. The warmth in the room intensified, contrasting sharply with the snowy landscape visible through the window.
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted from the next room, causing Eileen to pause. She quickly pushed Bryan aside and rushed toward the source of the sound, exclaiming, âItâs Phoebeâs room!â Panic set in as she worried Phoebe might have had an accident or damaged something in distress.
Eileen tried the key card at the door, pushing it several times in vain. âCould it be locked from the inside?â She turned to find Bryan, who had followed her, and said, âHelp me open the door! Phoebe locked herself in!â
A shadow crossed Bryanâs face. He stepped forward and forcefully kicked the door open. The room was chaotic, filled with the sounds of a struggle.
âStay still, dammit! Whoâs there?â a gruff male voice barked, jolting Eileenâs heart. She burst into the room to find a man overpowering Phoebe on the bed.
Phoebeâs face was bright red as she fought back desperately but couldnât match the manâs strength. âStay out of this! Iâm just joking with my wife,â the man said, mistaking Bryan and Eileen for unsuspecting onlookers.
âGet out!â Eileenâs fury was palpable. As soon as she said this, Bryan sprang into action. He seized the nearly naked man by the hair and hurled him into a corner, restraining him effortlessly with his foot.
Eileen hurried to Phoebeâs side. Upon touching Phoebe, she felt the intense heat of her skin. âPhoebe, why are you burning up?â Eileen asked, alarmed.
âThat bastard drugged me,â Phoebe managed to say. She had been sleeping when she was forced to drink a fast-acting substance, leaving her with minimal strength, clinging to consciousness by biting her tongue. Phoebe had almost given up hope until Eileenâs arrival.
âYou didnât leave? Youâre really my good friend,â she murmured.
âIâll take you to the hospital,â Eileen said, draping her down jacket over Phoebe.
âThe hospital wonât help.â Bryan, ready with a solution, pulled out his phone. âHead to the nearby Burgary Hotel,â he said. He then smashed a bottle over the manâs head, knocking him out before releasing his foot.
Eileen and Bryan quickly helped Phoebe into the car and drove directly to the Burgary Hotel. Upon arrival, Eileen was relieved to find that the hotel was conveniently close to Jacobâs residence, saving them crucial time.
After checking in, they settled Phoebe into the hotel bed. Just as Eileen was about to step away, Phoebe weakly clutched at her, stopping her.
âDonât go,â Phoebe said, her voice barely a whisper as she nestled her face into Eileenâs hand, slipping into unconsciousness, her sense of recognition blurred.
Bryan swiftly intervened, pulling Phoebeâs hand away.
âHer stateââ Eileen began.
âJacob is here,â Bryan interjected, leading Eileen out of the room just as Jacob approached, breathless.
âBro, thanks for the timely rescue. Megan was too much to handle. I barely made it out,â Jacob said.
Jacob had intended to live with Megan, but he found he really couldnât sleep with her. Bryan quirked an eyebrow, gesturing toward the room behind him. âThis isââ
âDonât worry, I understand. I wonât interrupt you two,â Jacob interjected with a smile. Then, he turned to Eileen and asked, âWhereâs Phoebe?â
âThis is as far as we can help you,â Bryan said, clapping Jacob on the shoulder and nudging him toward the room where Phoebe was before leading Eileen to another.
Despite the late hour, Eileen didnât feel sleepy because of what had just happened. She and Bryan entered a room where a large, inviting king-sized bed awaitedâa welcome sight in the luxurious hotel. Bryan was eager to make the most of their stay. Their familiarity with each other was evident, yet Eileenâs subtle hesitations always drew Bryan in even more.
Things went smoothly, and after only two hours, Bryan let Eileen rest, knowing she had to catch a flight back to Wist Land the next day.
Upon entering the dimly lit room, Jacobâs eyes adjusted to see someone lying on the bed. It took him a moment to recognize Phoebe. âPhoebe? Is there something you need to tell me? What do you want to talk about?â He abruptly stopped as he noticed Phoebeâs stillness and the unnatural flush on her cheeks.
âPhoebe?â he called out, concerned. Approaching, he gently touched her cheek, only to pull back from the unexpected heat radiating from her. âWhatâs wrong? Wake up!â he urged, lightly tapping her face to wake her.
Suddenly, Phoebeâs eyes fluttered open, and she swiftly wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him into a passionate kiss. Stunned momentarily by the intensity of her kiss and the aroma of alcohol, Jacob was overwhelmed, his thoughts scattered by the rush of sensations.
The next second, Phoebe flipped him over, straddling him while her hands, hot to the touch, roamed across his body, stirring his desire. Previously, their intimate moments had always been initiated by Jacob, and Phoebe had refused him every time. This time, however, the roles had changed, leaving Jacob torn between eager anticipation and a deep-seated urge to resist.
As Jacob was caught in a storm of internal conflict, Phoebe managed to unbutton his shirt and was now deftly unbuckling his belt. With a swift click, she removed it, and he soon found himself naked. The chill of the air contrasted sharply against his skin, pulling Jacob back to reality just in time to see Phoebe confidently positioned above him.
Her short hair and androgynous style juxtaposed with her unmistakably feminine silhouette, bathed in moonlight, enhancing her allure. Possibly empowered by the drug, she moved with newfound assertiveness, seeming completely at ease. Meanwhile, Jacob groaned in discomfort.
âDamn it! Am I being taken advantage of here?â he muttered. He felt overwhelmed, caught in a storm of conflicting sensationsâpleasure mixed with discomfortâas their moans and grunts filled the room.
Three hours had passed before the drugâs influence on Phoebe faded. She had maintained control the entire time, not letting Jacob off the bed. Now fully cognizant of her actions, a wave of embarrassment washed over Phoebe as she lay on Jacobâs chest.
Jacobâs gaze was intense, his hands gripping her waist as he reversed their positions. âPhoebe! That was too harsh for my first time,â he protested, his tone gritty and marked by the passion of their encounter. His shoulders were scratched up from her inadvertent clawing.
Part of him felt unfulfilled, having been led rather than leading during the process. There was also a gnawing thought of how this might be perceived if others knew he was not in control during his first experience. Yet, as the encounter continued and he started to take the lead, his discomfort gradually dissipated, immersing himself deeper into the experience.
