The next day, I was in the library reading the last chapter of the Lightning Thief. Loki came in and sat down next to me. "What's happening now", He asked me.
I decided to read the last part a loud to him. "I watched her walk up the hill and join her family. She gave her father an awkward hug and looked back at the valley one last time. She touched Thalia's pine tree, then allowed herself to be lead over the crest and into the mortal world", I read.
"Sounds interesting", Loki says.
"There's more", I said. "For the first time at camp, I felt truly alone. I looked out at Long Island sound and I remember my father saying, 'The sea does not like to be restrained'. I made my decision. I wondered, if Posiedon were watching, would he approve of my choice?", I continued.
Loki seems to be impressed by the story. I continued until I was on the last sentence.
"I asked Argus to take me down to cabin three, so I could pack up my bags...for home", I finished. I closed the book and looked at Loki with a smile. That was the end of the first book.
"That was wonderful", he says.
"Loki", I said.
"Yes, Leya?" Loki asks.
"What Nat said is true. I do look up to you and it's not because I'm short", I said. Loki smiles.
"I'm glad you think of me like that. I'm shocked that you think so well of me", he says.
"Of course I would. You are amazing, Loki. You're Mischievous and fun. I think of you as a father", I said.
Loki gives me a small smile. "I think of you as a daughter", Loki says. I walked over to Loki and hugged him.
Me and Loki walked out of the room so that he could teach me his strategies.
