Chapter 16: The Brothers

She's The Daughter Of A GodWords: 10300

I entered the living room that afternoon. I found Loki, laying on the couch. He was looking up at the ceiling. He looks at me as I stood next to the couch. "Hello", he said.

"Hey Loki. What are you doing?" I asked. He sat up so I could sit next to him.

"I'm doing what you mortals call 'chillin'", Loki says.

"Oh. Chillin like a villain", I said. I chuckled at my pun. Loki looks at me in confusion. "I-it's from a movie".

He still looked at me in confusion. Sometimes I forget he's not from this world.

"Movies. People pretend to be different people and you...you...it's like a play, but with cameras. You've seen a play, right?"

Loki looks up like he's thinking. He smiles and looks at me. "Yes I have definitely seen a play. I wrote one actually", Loki says.

"There are a lot of great movies. Star Wars is one of them. There's also Descendants, Harry Potter was made into a movie, they made Percy Jackson into a movie, Twilight, The Hunger Games is both a movie and a book", I explained.

"Leya, you remember that I'm not from this world, right?" Loki asks.

"Sometimes I forget", I admitted. "Do you ever watch plays or movies with your friends?"

"I don't have any friends", Loki says.

"Oh", I said. "You know, I can always be your friend".

"You don't have to do that, Leya".

"I want to do it. I want to be friends", I said. I wrapped my arms around Loki. We hugged for about 5 seconds before we heard someone eating loudly.

We turned around to see Thor, eating a bag of chips. "What do you want, brother?" Loki asks.

"Nothing. I was eating and then I

heard you two talking", Thor explains. I nodded. I looked back at Loki.

"Is that all?" Loki asks.

"No. Romanoff wants to talk to you, Loki".

I smiled at Loki. "About what?" Loki asks. Thor shrugged his shoulders. "Shouldn't you be eating pop tarts or something?"

"Someone ate them all", Thor says as he sat down next to me.

"Who would do that?" I asked. I looked at Loki. A smirk appears on his face. "What did you do?"

"Thor, how angry would you be if I told you that I ate the last pop tart just to make you angry?" Loki asks. I had to do the best I could not to smile.

"I would be very angry", Thor says. Loki chuckles and lays back on the couch. Thor got up. He grabbed Loki and threw him onto his shoulders.

"What the hell, Thor!" Loki shouted.

"Loki, not in front of the child", Thor says. I rolled my eyes. Has he not met my father?

"Thor, you know who my adoptive father is, right? I'm used to it", I said.

"I'm going to find some more pop tarts and you're coming with me, brother",Thor said as he walks out the living room with Loki on his shoulders. I got up and followed them.

"The hell I'm not! Let me go, you big oaf!" Loki shouted. I laughed at Thor's nickname.

"Can I come with you?" I asked.

"I'd save myself if I were you", Loki says.

"Of course you may come. If that's alright with your father", Thor says.

Tony and Steve come out of the elevator. They looked at us in confusion. "Ah, Sibling rivalry, am I right?" I asked.

"No that's just sibling...something messed up", Tony says. I rolled my eyes.

"Anyways, can I help Thor and Loki buy more pop tarts?"

"Sure. Make sure you take care of them. I trust you to be the responsible one", Tony says. I nodded before walking away to catch up with Thor and Loki.

"I can walk, you big oaf!" Loki shouted. I caught up with the brothers. I walked into the elevator with Thor by my side.

"If I let go of you, you'll try to run away", Thor says. I giggled. This is an interesting and hilarious sibling relationship.

"You know I can stab you, right?" Loki asks. My eyes widened. This is a scary, interesting and hilarious relationship.

"You could, but it wouldn't make me set you down", Thor says.

"Thor, I am not a child. Why can't you have Leya hang over your shoulders?"Loki asks.

"Because Leya is excited about going to the store to buy pop tarts". I frowned. I actually came because I wanted to hear these two argue. I mean, it's funny.

"Actually she came because she wanted to hear us argue. It's funny to her", Loki says. I looked at him in shock.

"Did you read my mind?" I asked.

"I certainly did", Loki says without hesitation. I sighed in frustration. The door to the elevator opened. We walked out of the elevator. Thor accidentally hits Loki's head against the wall as we exit the building. I giggled. "Brother, put me down!"

"I'll do that when we get to the store",Thor says as we walked towards the store.

I looked down at the ground. I put my hand on Thor's arm. I looked up with a frown on my face. I started poking Thor's arm. "This is an interesting feeling", I said. I looked up at Thor. "You work out?"

"Please don't", Loki says.

"Jealous, are we?" I asked. Loki glares at me which made me smile. I knew that he was glaring at me because he knew it was true. "I'm just feeling it. Calm down. Both of you are my favorite".

"Thanks, I guess".

"So if I punched you in the arm, would it still hurt you, would it hurt me, both or neither?" I asked Thor.

"I don't know. Depends on how hard you punch. Do you want to give it a try, little one?" Thor asks. I smiled.

"This'll be fun", I said. I punched Thor in the arm as hard as I could. My hand didn't hurt or break. "Did it hurt?"

"A little", Thor says. I looked at him in confusion. He didn't even wince in pain.

"Thor, if you don't put me down", Loki says. Thor drops Loki onto the ground. Loki landed flat on his butt. I burst into laughter.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I laughed.

"No", Loki said.

Me and Thor helped Loki off the ground. I looked down at the ground and saw a shadow fly past us. I stopped walking and looked up at the sky.

"Guys, maybe we should go back to the tower", I said. Thor and Loki stopped walking and looked at me.

"Leya, what's wrong?" Thor asks.

"I thought I saw a shadow. There's- There's something following us", I said.

"Leya, we're fine", Loki says.

"Yeah. I guess I'm just imagining things", I said. I started walking. Thor and Loki continued walking when I caught up to them.

I looked down at the ground and saw a shadow fly past us again. I stopped again and so did Thor and Loki.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm freaking out right now", I said.

"Leya", Loki says. Loki puts a hand on my shoulder. "Everything is fine, but if you want to go back to the tower, we can".

I nodded. I looked at Thor. "Can we go buy pop tarts another time?" I asked. Loki looks at Thor.

"If you're scared and you want to go back, then pop tarts can wait", Thor says. I gave him a small smile.

Loki looks at something in the sky and it was behind me. I looked behind me and saw something in the sky. It wasn't a bird. It looked like a dragon. I'd say dragons aren't real and I'm delusional, but Thor and Loki are real and not myths so I'd believe anything.

"Loki, get Leya out of here", Thor says as he reaches his hand out to summon Mjolnir.

Me and Loki ran away from the dragon that was charging at us. We turned a corner. The dragon landed in front of us which made me yelp. It roared loudly. We turned to run the other way.

We turned the corner and ran into Thor. All three of us fell to the ground. "What happened with distracting the creature?" Loki asks.

"It flew towards you even after I threw Mjolnir at her. She wants one of you", Thor says as we got up and ran towards the tower.

"So it's a she now? Why can't 'she' go back to donkey?" I asked. Thor and Loki looked at me in confusion. "From a movie".

I felt two claws grab me and pull me off the ground. "Leya!" Loki and Thor shouted in unison. I screamed as the dragon flew away with me in it's grasp.

Thor flew after me and Loki shape shifts into an eagle, flying after us. Loki transformed into his regular self and landed on the dragon. He stabs the dragon with his dagger.

The dragon let me go. I started falling until Thor caught me. We had a rough landing and crashed into a bus. Loki came into the bus.

"I have a guess on who 'She' wants", I said.

The dragon came towards us. "Leya, stay in here", Thor says as he and Loki walked out of the bus. Thor has Mjolnir and Loki has his dagger.

The dragon landed in front of them. Panicked people ran out of the train. The dragon roared. "Hear me, creature. We are not going to let you take the girl. You might as well go back to your rightful owner", Loki says.

"Is that so?" The dragon said in a women's voice.

"I told you it was a girl", Thor says.

"No. She's not a dragon. This is Jaqueline", Loki says. I looked at them in confusion. Who's Jaqueline?

"Hello Loki", the dragon said. It knocked Thor and Loki back into the bus with its tail.

The dragon tore the roof off the bus and grabbed me again. I screamed as I was high in the air. "Let me go!" I shouted.

The dragon flew towards a lake. It dropped me over the lake. I screamed as I fell towards the water.

I fell in. I had a hard time staying at the top. I don't know how to swim. I called out for help until I sunk underwater.

Everything went black. I woke up, coughing. I was on land. Loki held me in his arms. Thor had his hand on my head. Thor and Loki sighed in relief.

"I'm okay", I said weakly. "Can we go home now?"

"Of course", Loki says. Loki got up off the ground with me in his arms. He carried me bridal style as we walked towards the tower.

When we got to the tower, the others were coming out of the living room. They stopped their conversation and rushed over to us. "Is she alright? What happened?" Tony asks.

"We were attacked during our journey. A dragon came after her and almost drowned her", Loki says.

"And you're calm about this?" Tony asks.

"Heavens, no. I'll freak out later when you all aren't around", Loki says. I chuckled.

Loki got back in the elevator with me still in his arms. The elevator opens and he walks toward my room. "You don't have to do this, Loki", I said.

"I want to do this. I want to be there for you, Leya", Loki says. He laid me onto the bed. He walks out of the room.

Loki came back with a towel. He wraps the towel around me. "Thank you", I said. I laid my head on Loki's shoulder.

I removed my head from his shoulder when I remembered something that I wanted to ask him. "Earlier, I told you that I wanted to be your friend. Do you ever think of me as a friend?" I asked.

"Sometimes I think of you as a daughter, Leya". I laid my head on Loki's shoulder. He puts his arm around me.
