Eren's room didn't changed a bit. That favorite poster of him is still there, only a bit brittle ans the corners are sticking out. Some clothes were scattered on the floor, but at least its less messier than before. I can smell the faded cologne which is like the permanent scent of his room. The atmosphere didn't changed at all.
I sat on his bed and watched him as he picks up the scattered clothes on the floor.
"Can I help?"
"Oh, don't worry" he stood up then stuffed the clothes in his drawer then pushed it close.
He exhales then sat beside me on the bed. I look around.
"Your room didn't changed at all" I said. He chuckled silently.
"You still remember it as before? I'm surprised" he said.
"Duh" I rolled my eyes, chuckling "I hang out here all the time before".
Eren laughed slightly and I did also.
Our laughing fades slowly and the awkward silence came. Eren broke it immediately.
"So..." he faced me slightly, clearing his throat "Hows you and Levi?"
Whoops. Well, [f/n], take a deep.breath and tell him.
I faced him also. I scratched my temple lightly.
"Well..." I trailed off. I dropped my hands on my lap then clasped them together.
"Me and Levi..." Eren looked at me expectantly. "Our relationship was only pretend".
His teal eyes widened instantly.
"What?!" his sudden outburst made me jump a bit.
"Okay okay, this is what I want to talk about" I sighed "But please hear me out...Let me start with this".
Now, I'm having trouble saying this.
"I..." I sighed, my lips are trembling from nervousness.
"I still love you Eren" I said it. I can feel my cheeks heat up. I can see the shock on Eren's face.
He was about to say something but I held my hand up to stop him and let me talk. And so I did.
"From the time I came back, from the time I laid my eyes on you again, I knew later on that I still love you...but then, your with Audrey" I chuckled then continued.
"that relationship with Levi, its fake" I said. He still has that shocked look. "Its fake. That fake relationship is for me to get you back, to make you jealous"
"W-wha?-"
"Sshh! I'm not done yet" I held up my index finger.
"And so.." I looked down on my lap "It somehow worked, but it didn't gone to the point where you'll come back to me and leave Audrey" I said. Eren was now quiet and listening.
"And so, that night, remember? when you stopped me from getting in the car. The way you looked at me, I thought I had a chance" I sighed, chuckling.
"I'm so dumb until now.."
"Your not dumb-"
"shh!"
I continued "And so, we continued on, until it reached the point where me and Levi pretended we were engaged. I thought that'll push you to the edge until you fall then I'll be there to save you and you'll come back to me. But, it failed miserably.
"You fought back. You proposed to Audrey. And in the end, I'm the one who was pushed to the edge and fell with no one to save me" I sighed. Eren has a bit guilt on his face.
"It made things worse, it even caused a fight-..umm"
Shit. It slipped. Should I even tell this to him?
"Fight?" Eren looked at me intensely. I gulped. Welp, theres no going back.
"U-um..." I looked down on my lap. "Me, Audrey and Mikasa fought. I um..." I pursed my lips.
"I slapped Audrey"
"WHAT?!"
"Easy, easy, I snapped okay?...and...she said hurting words..." I trailed off.
He was about to say something when I cut him off again.
"Going back," I looked back at him "I just, want to make things more clear between us..."
"I want this all to rest, I want you and me to be back together as good friends, I will never try to get you back again. Your with Audrey, and I should respect that.
"I still love you, Eren. But now, the love I feel for you is not the same love I felt for you before" I smiled at him. He looked at me surprised, but then, he smiled.
For the first time when I came back, I felt free.
Its over, me and Eren are officially over and just good friends.
Next day at the office. Connie was ranting on something.
"Whats up?" I dropped my bag on my desk.
Jean, Sasha, Connie, Mikasa looked at me.
"Haven't you heard?" Connie said. I blinked then shook my head.
"Nope"
They exchanged glances.
"Eren and Audrey's wedding was moved next week"
