"Alicia, are you alright?" Tyrone had been waiting for her in the living room for over an hour, but she still hadn't come out.
"IâI'm fine..." Alicia stammered, opening the bathroom door. A cloud of steam billowed out, filling the hallway with warmth.
She was wrapped in a bathrobe, her hair dripping wet, looking a little flustered.
Tyrone looked down at her. She really was stunningâsweet and sexy at the same time, honestly more dazzling than most actresses he'd ever seen.
"Why didn't you dry your hair?" His voice softened before he even realized it.
"It'll dry soon..." Alicia tried to say she'd already toweled it off as best she could.
Tyrone didn't reply. Instead, he gently took her hand and led her back into the bathroom. He picked up the hairdryer and started drying her hair himself.
The warm air blew over her scalp, and Alicia felt her heart fluttering in her chest.
She wasn't some shy teenager anymore... Even the first time she'd been with Vincent, she hadn't been this nervous.
She watched Tyrone in the mirror. The way he cared for her was so naturalâand he was surprisingly good at it.
Was it because he'd taken care of Melanie's mother before? Did he have experience?
"Tyrone," Alicia blurted out as he clicked off the dryer, her voice barely above a whisper, "have you... have you ever been with anyone before?"
Tyrone didn't answer immediately. He just reached up and mussed her hair a bit.
Alicia was confused by his reaction.
Melanie had told her Tyrone never let women get close to himâso had he ever had anything real with Melanie's mom?
She blinked, curiosity gnawing at her. He was twenty-nine, after all. Was it really possible he'd never been with a woman? That just didn't seem likely.
"You're really curious, aren't you?" Tyrone finally said, letting out a short, amused laugh when he saw how intently she was watching him.
Alicia nodded, eyes bright with nosy anticipation.
"No..." He cleared his throat, then laced his fingers through hers and led her out of the bathroom.
Alicia stared at him in shock, her mind reeling. Twenty-nine, drop-dead handsome, and apparently never been with a woman? Was he really this innocent? Or was there something else going on?
She remembered him suggesting IVF in the car earlierâcould it be... he was actually unable to?
Not wanting to embarrass him, Alicia lowered her voice, trying to sound casual. "Tyrone, if... if it doesn't work naturally, I'm okay with IVF too."
It would be toughâdaily shots, medicationsâbut she could handle it.
Tyrone looked at her, his eyes unreadable. "Changed your mind already?"
His voice was husky. With her face scrubbed clean of makeup, Alicia's skin looked so soft and luminous it practically glowed, a pale pink that made him want to lean in and kiss her.
No wonder Vincent couldn't let her go for four yearsâshe was just too tempting.
How was he supposed to resist?
"No... I just don't want you to feel pressured," Alicia whispered, eyes downcast.
It took Tyrone a second to realize what she meant. When he did, he actually laughed, shaking his head in disbelief.
He gently tipped her chin up. "Are you doubting my abilities?"
Alicia blushed fiercely, her ears burning. "No, that's notâ"
Before she could finish, Tyrone leaned in and kissed her.
She might have been inexperienced, but she wasn't clueless. Men always seemed to know what to do when it counted. He'd claimed never to have been with a woman, but he sure knew how to kiss.
Alicia's heart pounded so hard she thought it might leap out of her chest.
For a moment, she forgot this was just a marriage of convenience. In that instant, she felt like she'd eloped, and the man in front of her was her real husband.
"Don't be scared..."

"Tyrone..." Alicia's nerves spiked.
She clung to him for dear life, trying to settle her nerves.
At five-foot-five, she looked especially petite in his arms, her delicate waist feeling as if it could snap with just the lightest touch.
Tyrone was nothing but gentle with her.
He wasn't rough or impatient, even though their arrangement was all about having a child.
Alicia's whole body felt hot, alive in a way she'd never experienced before.
"Tyrone..."
Whenever she was scared, she called his name, her voice shaky and raw.
Tyrone took his time, kissing her softly, making sure she felt safe, soothing her nerves with every touch.
