Chapter 84

After dinner at the orphanage, Tyrone took Alicia and left.

On the way to the airport, Alicia was a bundle of nerves.

Should she have a child?

With Tyrone?

"If you'd prefer, there's always IVF," Tyrone offered, giving her an alternative.

Alicia had looked up the whole IVF process. Endless shots, medication, and even surgery to retrieve eggs. Honestly, since they were legally married, insisting on keeping her distance now felt a little precious—maybe even silly.

"That's not necessary..." Alicia mumbled, her palms growing damp with sweat. "I'll... I'll track my ovulation this month and let you know when the right time comes."

She stumbled over her words. After all, this was part of the arrangement; she had to take it seriously.

Tyrone glanced at her, a shadow of a smile flickering in his eyes, but he said nothing.

Alicia pulled out her phone and opened her period tracker app. If her calculations were right, ovulation would be in three days.

She mustered her courage and looked at Tyrone. "My ovulation day should be in three days, but it's not always exact. The specialist recommends, um, trying every other day around then."

Her words caught even Tyrone off guard; his ears flushed pink.

He cleared his throat, shooting a warning look at the driver, who was sneakily eyeing them in the rearview mirror.

"We'll be on the plane tonight, so that's out. I guess we'll have to start tomorrow," Alicia continued, still counting days in her head.

Tyrone coughed awkwardly and lowered his voice. "Let's talk about it once we get to the Harboridge City hotel tonight."

The driver spoke up, almost by reflex. "Mr. Lynch, are we not heading back to the manor this evening?"

Tyrone glared at him in the mirror, cold and unmistakable. "Take us to the hotel."

How could they try for a baby at the family estate...

...

Harboridge City, Azure Cove Hotel.

The Azure Cove Hotel was the most luxurious place in all of Harboridge City—everyone said so. The architecture alone could leave you speechless, and the inside was even more extravagant.

Alicia had read the gossip columns. Rumor had it the Azure Cove only accepted billionaires. A single night here could cost a small fortune.

"How much does a night here even cost?" Alicia muttered under her breath, curiosity getting the better of her.

"You should be asking how much our joint assets grow every night we stay here," Tyrone teased, raising an eyebrow as he gently took her hand.

It took Alicia a moment to make the connection—of course, the Azure Cove was owned by the Lynch family.

Her ears burned as she realized what he meant by "joint assets." She was just a contract employee, not someone who dared to lay claim to any of Tyrone's wealth.

The hotel's opulence was almost dizzying, making Alicia feel as if she'd left her body behind. It was just that magnificent.

The glass elevators looked more like observation gondolas, gliding up and down amidst all this glittering extravagance.

Alicia could practically smell the scent of money in the air.

It was true—when you reached a certain height in life, the view really did change.

She found herself studying Tyrone, lost in thought. He was ridiculously handsome. In a suit, he looked every bit the powerful CEO; without one, he could easily pass for a model...

Tall and fit, too.

But for a man who spent tens of thousands of dollars on a single night's stay, he'd still eaten cheap burgers with her at a roadside stall.

What kind of person was Tyrone, really?

"Am I that fascinating?" The elevator doors slid open, but Alicia was still staring at him.

"Do I look better with all this money behind me?" Tyrone joked, and the warmth in his voice made him seem far more approachable than when he was silent and aloof.

Tonight—they were really going to share a bed?

Inside the suite, Alicia's mind was still a jumble. She was so distracted, she almost crashed right into Tyrone's chest.

"Go take a shower and get some rest. It's been a long day, you must be exhausted," Tyrone said, his tone softer than she'd expected.
