Alicia burst into tears the moment she heard Tyrone had been in an accident.
And now she found out it was all Tyrone's doing?
Tyrone took a deep breath and offered a quiet explanation. "Honey... The people after us were bound to make a move sooner or later. So I decided to beat them to the punch, stir things up myself. Fight fire with fire. This way, they'll think twice before trying anything for a while."
Alicia's anger made her chest ache.
She had to admit, Tyrone was frighteningly clever.
If he arranged it himself, at least he could control the damage-just a few surface injuries, nothing life-threatening-but it would draw a lot of attention from the police and the press.
If those people lurking in the shadows went after him first, the consequences could've been far worse.
"Please don't be upset, Mrs. Lynch," the assistant hurried to explain. "Mr. Lynch did all this because you're pregnant. He'd rather get hurt himself if it means buying you both a little peace. This way, he can stay by your side and keep you and the baby safe."
Tyrone shot the assistant a glare, silently telling him to shut up.
Alicia slumped against Tyrone's shoulder, her voice barely a whisper. "I was just... so scared."
"No matter what happens, no matter what you hear, you have to believe in me," Tyrone said with a gentle smile. "Even if you hear I'm dead, don't believe it. I'd never leave you like that."
Alicia, her eyes brimming with tears, quickly pressed her hand over Tyrone's mouth, as if to ward off the bad luck his words might bring.
She knew exactly what he was doing-preparing her for the worst, just in case.

At Easton's place.
Easton pedaled his bike up the driveway to a small villa-one of the Lynch family's properties. Maddox had arranged for him to stay here. But now, with everything that had happened, the deed had probably passed to Tyrone.
Easton didn't seem particularly bothered.
But as he arrived, he spotted a few men in crisp suits waiting by the front gate. They looked like a cross between lawyers and financial advisors.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Lynch," one of them said. "We represent Mr. Tyrone Lynch in managing his estate. This property now belongs to him, and we've been instructed to catalog all assets for evaluation. We'll need you to vacate the premises as soon as possible."
They were kicking him out.
Easton was the heir to the Lynch Corporation, but he hadn't officially taken over yet. In reality, he had little money to his name certainly not enough to buy a place like this on his own.
The way they talked about "evaluating assets" while showing him the door was a particularly ruthless way to drive a wedge between the brothers.
"This was Maddox's house. Easton's been living here all along-what gives you the right to throw him out?" Natalia stormed over, her voice brimming with outrage.
"I'm sorry, but Maddox left everything to Mr. Tyrone Lynch. Mr. Lynch wants to liquidate all assets as soon as possible, so again, I'm afraid you'll need to leave," the man replied coldly.
There was no room for negotiation-they were being evicted.
Natalia opened her mouth to argue, but Easton caught her arm. "Don't waste your breath. It's pointless."
"I'll move out as soon as I can," Easton said quietly, his voice steady.
"Easton, why should you be the one to leave?" Natalia shot back, walking beside him, her anger simmering. "This was your grandfather's house, and Lynch Corporation should be yours. Tyrone's your brother did he really have to go this far?" She shook her head, muttering under her breath. "I used to think Tyrone was a big-picture guy, but now... he's just like the rest."
Easton said nothing.
Natalia looked at him, her
expression softening. "Easton, you're
not established enough yet. That's why everyone thinks they can push you around. That's why you're getting trampled." She sighed, her tone gentle but earnest. "Your grandfather wanted me by your side to teach you how cutthroat this world can be."
Survival of the fittest-that was the law of the business jungle.
If Easton didn't toughen up, he'd keep getting tossed aside like this, always a stray,
always at someone else's mercy.
"Tyrone's been running Lynch
Corporation for years; his people are
everywhere; especially in the higher
ranks. Do you really think he'll just step aside? Not a chance. He's going to take everything he can get," Natalia said, gripping Easton's wrist. "I'm not telling you to fight Tyrone. I just want you to grow up fast-and become strong enough to stand your ground."
