Chapter 358

"And what about Easton?" Alicia's voice dropped to a whisper, tinged with worry. "There are so many people around him trying to stir up trouble-can he really be trusted? I was pretty harsh with him today, just to sound out Natalia..."

Tyrone gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, his lips quirking in a small smile. "Don't stress over that. Easton isn't naive-he's sharp as a tack. There's no way he doesn't notice when people are trying to drive a wedge between us. You know what they say: you can't wake someone who's pretending to sleep, and you'll never calm a restless heart."

He didn't seem particularly worried about whether Easton might change for the

worse.

Easton was a kid who craved affection, desperate for love and approval. Inside him was a scale that could tip either way-toward darkness or light. But in the end, the choice would always be his.

"Hey, Ty..."

Easton's head popped around the doorway, his movements furtive as he glanced up and down the hall. He tugged his baseball cap lower and slipped inside, holding out a container of fresh watermelon he'd picked up for Alicia.

"For you, Ali." Easton's grin was all innocence, as if he'd shaken off the prying eyes and found his way back just for her.

Alicia blinked in surprise, then reached for the watermelon. "I wasn't exactly kind to you today..."

"I get it," Easton said, unbothered. "You have to act that way in front of outsiders. It's the only way to weed out the people planted around me." He understood everything.

So clever it sent a chill through her.

Alicia glanced at Easton, then rose and looked over at Tyrone. "I'll take this outside. You two should talk."

With the old man gone, and Marcus never having been much of an ally, the Lynch family was really down to just Tyrone and Easton. If these two brothers couldn't hold it together, the family would truly fall apart.

"Ty, Natalia's the housekeeper's daughter. Why would she try to come between us?" Easton sounded genuinely puzzled.

"After Grandpa died, the whole world

sees us as Jambs to the slaughter. I was kicked out of Lynch

Corporation, and you're barely finding your footing. Every predator out there is circling, waiting for a chance. It's not just the housekeeper's daughter who might get bought off-even people we used to trust could turn on us. People chase profit and avoid risk. Right now, everyone has their eyes on the Lynch family, and they'll do whatever it takes to win over our people."

Easton hesitated, then asked, "So... do you want to take back Lynch Corporation? Grandpa's gone. It doesn't matter which of us runs it, as long as we're united."

Tyrone met his brother's gaze, reading sincerity in his eyes.

"At least right now, I know you mean it," Tyrone said quietly.

"There's still someone pulling Brandon's strings. The real enemy is hiding in the shadows, while we're out in the open. If we don't root them out, we're never safe. From what I can tell, their target isn't just the Lynch family-it's the Whites too. That's a big appetite. This isn't some small-time schemer. We need to expose them first." That, Tyrone thought, was why he hadn't tried to seize back the company from Easton. He wanted to work together, to draw out the one behind all of this.

"I know you want us to team up," Easton said softly. "If I play along with the people trying to turn me against you, eventually, the real mastermind will take the bait and come for me directly. That's when we'll catch them."

Tyrone's eyebrow lifted. Easton's brilliance always amazed him-he could grasp the heart of the matter without a word more.

Easton understood perfectly: the whole point of driving a wedge between them was to spark a feud, to turn brother against brother, and if possible, destroy them both.

Easton was a young wolf still

growing into his strength, while

Tyrone was already the alpha. Their

enemy feared Tyrone most-if he

was gone, Easton would be easier to

deal with, just a matter of time

before they took control of Lynch Corporation for themselves.
