Chapter 349

"My brother Tyrone and I-we're blood. It doesn't matter which of us is in charge. I made it out of that fishing village, and as long as I have enough to eat and a roof over my head, that's good enough for me. I'm not greedy," Easton said, making his stance clear. He wouldn't be swayed by anyone's schemes.

"Easton, you're still young," Brandon replied with a faint smile. "This world's all about survival of the fittest. Money brings power, and power... well, that can be addictive." He could see that Easton had yet to experience the heady rush that came with real authority.

Easton was fresh out of a small coastal town and didn't yet realize how much confidence and status wealth could buy him.

Brandon leaned forward, voice gentle. "You know, back when your grandfather was still around, he arranged a marriage between the Lynch and White families. My niece, Nicole White..." He was here today to extend an olive branch.

But Easton cut him off without hesitation. "Nicole? That's never going to happen. I'm just not interested in her."

Brandon's smile faltered for a moment, embarrassment flickering across his face before he forced the smile back in place. "Alright, alright, you don't have to marry her. Still, you young people should spend more time together, get to know each other."

Easton's expression turned frosty. "Is there anything else, Mr. White? If not, I should get going. I've got classes in the morning."

Brandon studied him, realizing his original plan to discuss partnership was pointless for now. Easton was still too untainted-he hadn't yet tasted the poison of power and money. Brandon knew he'd have to wait until the brothers were truly divided before making his next move.

No need to rush.

"I just wanted to talk about your engagement to Nicole, but since you're so against it -and still so young-I won't push it." Brandon let out another easy laugh, doing his best to lower Easton's guard. "Alright, since you've got to head back to Seaview City, I won't keep you any longer."

He got up, ending the conversation. As soon as his back was turned, his smile vanished, replaced by a calculating look. He shot a meaningful glance at his assistant, who immediately lowered her head.

Easton watched Brandon leave. Old fox, he thought. There's no way he'll give up that easily.

Just then, Brandon's assistant approached, cradling a stack of documents. "Mr. Lynch, this is a contract that Tyrone agreed on before. Would you mind signing it?"

Easton stayed wary, taking the file for a quick look. "From now on, let Galen handle all the projects. I'm not making any company decisions at the moment."

"But these were all reviewed by Mr.

et

Tyrone Lynch. You just need to sign-he was always right about these things. You're just picking up where he left off. Signing off on someone else's work shouldn't be that hard, right?" The assistant's tone was laced with sarcasm,

making it clear that Easton's current

position was thanks to Tyrone.

None of the staff really respected Easton. They just saw him as a privileged kid,

coasting on his brother's legacy.

Easton's brow's knit together,

annoyance flashing in his eyes as he

stared the assistant down. "If I sign and something goes wrong, is it your responsibility, or mine? I said, Galen makes all the decisions from now on."

Seeing his anger, the assistant quickly retreated.

"It's time to go, sir," his aide reminded him, glancing at the clock.

Easton nodded, leaving the office with his assistant. As they passed the break room, they overheard a few employees whispering.

"That Easton kid-he's just a college

freshman. What does he know?

Maddox just put him here to keep

him out of trouble. I really miss when Mr. Tyrone Lynch was Punning things." Content belongs to

"Seriously, Easton's got no shame. Tyrone built everything, and now he's just

waltzing in and taking over."

Easton paused, his jaw tightening in anger.

His assistant spoke softly. "Sir... Don't let it get to you."

Easton said nothing and stepped into the elevator.
