Chapter 325

"Alicia..." Lost in thought, Alicia made her way toward the classroom, only to have Vincent step in and block her path.

"Alicia, are you really content to spend your whole life with Tyrone as he is now? The man's got no ambition-just loafs around all day, can't stick with anything. His so-called business ventures? He gives up before he even gets started..." Vincent's voice betrayed his frustration. He couldn't help but worry; a man like Tyrone would only end up dragging Alicia down.

"Mr. Lawson, you come all the way to campus first thing in the morning just to criticize my husband?" Alicia's eyes flashed with anger as she glared at Vincent. "If you're so concerned about ambition, maybe you should focus on your own life instead of meddling in mine."

Vincent took a deep breath, fighting to keep his emotions in check. "Alicia... I wouldn't be here if things weren't bad. Do you have any idea how many companies Tyrone's started under his own name? Every single one's run into trouble. Right now, he's hit rock bottom, and trust me-no one wants to see a strong rival like him get back on his feet."

A sharp pang shot through Alicia's chest. She'd known Tyrone's new venture would be tough, but she hadn't realized just how bad things had gotten.

"Alicia, if no one steps up for Tyrone now, he'll never recover. Everyone's just waiting for him to fail-waiting to watch him fall." Vincent's gaze was earnest, almost pleading. "If you want... I can help him."

Alicia looked at Vincent, her expression skeptical. "And since when did Mr. Lawson become so generous? Willing to help my husband out of the goodness of your heart?"

Vincent's Adam's apple bobbed. He opened his mouth, hesitated, and fell silent, unable to find the words.

"There's no such thing as a free lunch, Mr. Lawson. And frankly, I'm not interested. Goodbye." Alicia stepped past him and walked away without looking back.

Vincent watched her go, his fists clenching in silent frustration.

He knew, deep down, that there was no going back to what he and Alicia once had. But some part of him just couldn't let her go.

Evercrest Group, Executive Office

After dropping Alicia off at school, Tyrone headed straight to Evercrest Group's headquarters.

He took the private elevator up from the parking garage, making sure hardly anyone caught a glimpse of him on his way in.

"Mr. Lynch." Kenney Lockwood entered the office and bowed his head respectfully. "Would you like to make your position as Evercrest Group's chairman public?"

Tyrone leaned back in his chair, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Where's the fun in that? I'd rather sit back and see exactly who's been waiting for me to fall.”

Kenney shivered, unsettled by Tyrone's calm confidence, and cleared his throat. "Mr. Lynch... Your new company hasn't exactly gotten off to a smooth start, has it?"

"Mr. Lockwood, must you always bring up the sore spots?" Tyrone's assistant piped up nervously. "The moment Mr. Lynch started his new venture, those opportunists started circling. They'd love nothing more than to see him stuck at the bottom forever-or worse..." The assistant made a subtle throat-cutting gesture.

The fear those people held for Tyrone was palpable.

Kenney forced a nervous laugh. Part

of him couldn't wait to see the look on their faces when they finally realized Easton was only a front, and the true mastermind behind

Evercrest Group was none other than Tyrone himself. S

That revelation would certainly be something to see.

"

"Mr. Lynch, the Seaview Chamber of Commerce gala is tomorrow night..." Kenney hesitated, awkwardly

scratching his head. "If you're nonet

planning to reveal your identity, maybe you should skip it. If you show up as things are now... they'll eat you alive."

He could already picture it-the sharks circling, waiting to tear Tyrone down.

But Tyrone just smirked, spinning a pen between his fingers. "The way you put it,

Kenney, I'm actually tempted to see the spectacle for myself."

Kenney and the assistant both drew sharp breaths, eyes wide.

Great... Tomorrow night's Chamber of Commerce gala was about to get a lot more

interesting.
