Chapter 252

Alicia nodded slightly as she watched Chester leave.

Even Chester was telling her not to be too nice...

But he didn't mean she should go out of her way to hurt people. He just wanted her to remember not to be naïve-not to let herself become a doormat.

Taking a deep breath, Alicia returned to the living room.

Wilma was still crying.

Tyrone sat on the sofa, waiting for Alicia to come back.

"Sir... I know you won't keep me on anymore, and there's no way I can return to the Lynch estate. My son's schooling and everything else all depend on your father's support. I just... I have no other way..." Wilma choked out, her voice thick with emotion.

"Wilma, your son's tuition and expenses will still be covered by the Lynch family. And I'll have Tyrone arrange a pension for you," Alicia said gently, offering Wilma a reassuring smile. "Take this time to retire early and go home. You don't need to worry about anything else."

Alicia had learned an important lesson: never back someone desperate into a

corner.

After all, even if Wilma was charged for what she'd done, she'd only spend a few years in prison. For Alicia, though, the damage was permanent.

Push someone too far, and no one wins.

Wilma looked at Alicia, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Alicia. Thank you so much."

Alicia turned to Tyrone. "Is this all right with you?"

Tyrone nodded, his gaze steady. "You're in charge here."

Wilma wiped her tears, nodding gratefully, and hurried off to pack her things.

When she left, she paused in the hallway, her voice trembling as she looked at Alicia. "Take care of yourself, Alicia. And look after sir... I can see how much he cares about you, how much he loves you. No matter what happens, don't leave him, please... He couldn't handle being abandoned again."

Alicia nodded, her chest tightening with a bittersweet ache.

Giving Wilma a way out was as much for Tyrone's sake as her own.

Wilma had taken care of him for so many years, filling the role of a nanny and confidante. After what she and the old man had done, Tyrone was the one hurting most.

After Wilma left, Alicia went over and sat beside Tyrone, wrapping her arms around him. "Why did you come back so late tonight?"

Tyrone leaned back, pulling Alicia into his embrace, his voice weary. "You said you missed me..."

Alicia nestled against his chest, her voice soft. "I did. I missed you..."

"Are you really coming with me to Harboridge City tomorrow?" Tyrone kissed the top of her head, worry etched in the lines around his eyes. He didn't want her to be mistreated back home.

"I want to stay by your side. I don't want anyone bullying you. If someone says anything nasty, I'll be the one to put them in their place," Alicia replied, pretending to sound fierce. Content belongs to

She actually made Tyrone laugh.

He ruffled her hair, still smiling. "My little rabbit knows how to bite now?"

Alicia huffed. "Even a rabbit will fight back when pushed. Tomorrow, I'll show them

I'm not so easy to mess with."

"Good," Tyrone said, his tone

suddenly serious. "As long as I'm here, you can do whatever you want. Don't worry about offending anyone. If you don't like something, say it. And if you really have to, I'll atways have your back."

Alicia's eyes sparkled. "So, you're saying I can throw your weight around and walk all over everyone?"

Tyrone chuckled, nodding. "Exactly. Be fierce. Make sure they know you're not to be trifled with."

Alicia burst out laughing, hugging him tighter. "I love you so much..."

She froze, realizing what she'd just blurted out.

"Hm?" Tyrone tilted his head, acting as if he hadn't heard.

"N-nothing," Alicia stammered, cheeks flushed.

Tyrone's lips curled into a small smile. He'd heard her loud and clear.

She said she loved him, whether by accident or instinct and he couldn't have been

happier to hear it.

Harboridge City.

No sooner had Tyrone and Alicia stepped off the plane than Yvonne's barrage of

calls began.

"Tyrone, what's going on? Alicia had a miscarriage? If Chester hadn't told me, I'd still be in the dark!" Yvonne's angry voice crackled through the phone. "Where are you two right now?"
