Marcus shot Easton a glare. The kid was still young, full of hot-headed bravado, convinced that with enough determination, anything was possible.
Too bad he was still so naïve.
"Shut your mouth! You deserve this. The Lynch estate has always owed you something why shouldn't you fight for it?" Marcus hissed, his voice low and warning.
Easton turned away, scowling. "If you didn't take anything back then, why should I want it now?"
Tyrone had no patience for their family drama. He turned to Melanie instead. "You don't have to keep sitting out here. Go home. Alicia helped you this time out of kindness, but I won't give you another chance to hurt her."
Melanie's eyes filled with tears as she wiped them away, realizing she'd already overstayed her welcome. She bowed slightly to Alicia, then hurried out the door.
"As for the rest of you this house has nothing to do with the Lynch family. It belongs to my wife, Alicia. If you set foot here again, I'll call the police," Tyrone said, leveling a warning at Marcus.
The old man insisting Marcus return to the Lynch family truly stung Tyrone's heart.
Still, he couldn't bring himself to cut ties completely. It wasn't that he didn't have the power; he just knew if he did, the old man would be devastated.
No matter what, the reason he'd survived and grown up at all was because the old man had raised him single-handedly.
He had no parents, but he owed the old man a debt of gratitude for his upbringing.
"What's that supposed to mean? She's your wife, so that makes her my daughter-in- law. Your aunt, your brother, and I have nowhere to go. You can't even offer us a place to stay?" Marcus demanded, anger simmering in his voice.
Tyrone actually laughed. He never imagined Marcus could be so shameless.
"Dad..." Easton wanted to sink into the floor, pulling his father toward the door.
Not long after, Tyrone's assistant arrived with security, having rushed over as soon as Tyrone called.
"Escort them out. If they cause any more trouble, call the police." Tyrone led Alicia back into the living room, ignoring Marcus entirely.
Marcus, fuming, started to shout curses at Tyrone, but Easton dragged him away by force. "Dad! That's enough! You never raised him how can you expect him to take us in?"
"You ungrateful child!" Valery snapped, smacking Easton's arm.
"Call the old man. We're not just going to slink back to the Lynch place and get scolded, are we?" Valery nudged Marcus.
Marcus, still seething, insisted, "I'll
call him right now. We'll take Easton home. Once he sees Easton, he'll be happy. They're both his
el.ne
grandsons-it's not fair to favor one over the other. Whatever Tyrone has, Easton should have too!" S
"Dad!" Easton was furious. He turned on his heel and strode off alone.
He never wanted to be some spoiled rich kid, and he certainly didn't want to go back to the Lynch estate under such awkward circumstances, trailing after Marcus.
In the living room, Alicia watched Tyrone with worried eyes. "That man..... was he really your father?"
Tyrone pulled her into his arms, nodding. "Ignore him. Pretend he's just some lunatic."
Alicia nervously twisted her fingers. "Was this all Vincent's idea? Is he trying to make trouble for you?"
"Okay." Alicia nodded obediently.
Not long after Tyrone left, Alicia's phone rang. It was Vincent.
"Hello?â she answered, her tone tinged with irritation.
"Alicia, I heard you fell down the stairs. Are you alright?" Vincent's voice was thick
with feigned concern.
